I hope it will be warcraft 4 xD   I kinda like the strategy game more.  But it is impossible, since they don't even have a storyline to continue.  They will have to drop wow aside to do that.

I am quite surprised that they added this game to the MMORPG list.  I haven't played it in at least 4 months, though the gameplay was enjoyable, graphics weren't too bad when you max out settings.  It's game features include leveling up/grinding like basic mmorpg, persuing HUVs who are criminals, pvp which is one of the fun part, max players in pvp battles are 8vs8.  Cars can be upgrade when you reach certain levels, like mounts.   It also features auction house and garage for multi car collection.  The area of the game is quite big too, about 4-5 cities, and each of them aren't small.  Quite a good amount of things to do daily, but it didn't keep me interested after playing for 4-5 months.  Tho, i think people should give it a try=}

Overall, I give it a 7/10

Martie, do you really think even if the numbers of wow subs did drop, and you think that blizzard would even announce that?  No one will notice it besides blizzard.

I don't care if the numbers is dropping or increasing, I am just a forum surfer. I don't play any mmorpgs anymore, cuz all of them are enjoyable for only a moment, then life moves on.   Even tho I know that I still miss wow, the flash back of all the grindings, party/raid composing process!, the similar competition in all mmorpgs, <-- gear, arena rating, and others.   I can't go back to wow.  It is just horrifying to ME.

If you wonder why I am still here discussing about wow, It is probably my day off or I just got nothing else to do or have some spare time dropping by and say hi.  Fact is life is boring without wow, tho I change my routine to watching movies/working out/bodybuilding.  I'm not here to attack or defend wow.  I am just a half & half observer/commentator.

Edit: And I'm still a customer to blizzard, though not a subscriber.  I only play TFT once in a while and its quite fun if you don't compare it to wow =P

I've planned to reroll, its just that I don't want to leave my friends and guildies I play with in the old server.  RIght now, I'm struggling in deciding which server I should play on.. It is hard to moderate my time if I play on both, so I stopped playing for a while and now I am deciding to play on the new server for a while until I get bored and then return to the old server.

Anyone struggling like i do too? =P

rhinok is right

You should at least try to play it before rating the game.  The other players ratings don't matter much if you are the one that is looking for a game that suits you well.   I am lvl 64 now, played wow b4 for 4 years, moved into this and it still can keep my interest for one to two months which is long.   You can't really judge a game if you have only played couple hours or look at the game's rating rated by other players.

This game has a high rating because it is different from other mmorpgs.   It involves both rpg and turn-based gameplay, which I consider worthy and fun to play.   I don't know if I would rate this game the top/#1,   but it will probably be in my 5 top list of mmorpg I have ever played.   Given wow #1, then lotr, then probably this.

And screw the alts that are giving this game 10/10, who cares about them.

Edit: Added - Playing this game has also taught me many places around the world.  Now I'm quite familiar with big cities around the world

That whole message looked like a job requirement on a job application.  XD

When you download the client, choose the directory before you start the download.  Mine was set to desktop, but some may differ and save it in nowhere you can find.  So check on that b4 you download.

I tried the rar files and filefront, filefront has the old file which didn't work, rar took kind of long.. so I eventually downloaded the client one.  installed it and working fine now.  It took long too, mine was about 0.30mb, took me about 2 hours to finish.  Lucky I was watching a movie while the comp did that  =P

hmm to OP, dunno if the file actually contained a virus or not. But if your comp froze after you opened the client.. Then there could be a chance that the file did contain virus.  And did you check your hard disk space? did you have enough space to install the game?

For those that can't login after signing up.

Just do it step by step and it should work.

I created my account using firefox and it worked out fine, but I downloaded the client with Internet Explorer.

Edit: (My mistake, don't download it from filefront, it's an old file , and doesn't work anymore.)
Download the client from their homepage, its slow but have to deal with it..

I don't think any of us are wow haters.  We all have the same feelings toward wow here, its just the fact that some of us quit the game and some are still playing.   Some of us just couldn't stand the community and quit for couple months just for a break.  But we are still on a wow forum discussing wow because we still like the game and want to know updates about it.   I'm sure some of us will be back playing the game but only when it's time.   After all, why did we quit anyway, because some of us grow tired after seeing little or many negative sides about wow that some may not see when playing the game.  For example, the community.

Some of us quitters want to experience more in rl than ig.  I myself want to take a break, want to spend 12 hours per day in real life but not in game.  When I will be back playing wow in about 2 months later, I am sure I will have more control than before because I am learning to manage my own time everyday now since the time I quit wow.   Given the fact that I also realized wow is only a game.  Raids, gears aren't important, they will eventually be left over crap anyway.  I play just for fun when I am back playing.  But who knows, I might not even be back playing if I am busy.

For those that are still playing wow,  go on to trade channel and listen for an hour when it's around 4pm-6pm - this depends on your server raid schedule.  on my server, its identical to barrens chat, big kids from big guilds will talk big while waiting for their raid to start.  And It takes long to stop even after they have gone to raid, because they leave stupid topics behind for those to discuss/argue.   Go for 5 PUG's dungeons and see how many you can finish with the original party.   I was tired of puging because I was tired of leading and marking as a healer.  Tanks weren't responsible, ppl afking out, ppl crying for the gear for offset that they were trying to steal from the ones who really need them.   Raids took longer than ever to finish because ppl didn't cooperate and didn't care about others.  All they care is the gear they want, but not fun and the desire to finish the raid.  But this differs in every server, but i m sure it happens in many server.. even on the horde side with so many blood elves now.

I don't think they will ever get rid of arena.  Despite the disliking and down-rating of arena from many communities and players.  Blizzard just need it to keep hard core pvpers focused and remained in the game.   Take a look at, 9/10 pvp movies involve arena fights.  And the online arena rating database site just let players to check their status from anywhere.  In trade chat, most pvpers just look for arena teams instead of BG's premades.  And don't forget the arena lovers that get to sell their high team rating and points for gold to other players.

If they get rid of arena, a majority of pvpers would quit, but if the best pvp gear still have to be obtained by having high rating and points from arena, then a minority of casual players that don't have the time to compete and eventually grow tired would quit.  Even though I hate arena, it has been out for this long, and I don't think they will ever get rid of it.  So only solution is to balance BG's and Arenas!

imo, wow has one of the best content and gameplay in most of the mmorpg i've ever played.  The only problem I have with wow is the community and the addiction.  I could control myself better when playing other mmorpg's but it is rather hard to just limit my play time when playing wow.   Tho I think with working couple days a week, I could manage my wow play time better.

When talking about community in any mmorpg,  Atlantica has one of the best community i've seen so far in mmorpg.  You don't see kids babbling nonsense on the general chat, city channel, guild chat, or party chat.  It is a totally different society than wow.  But the gameplay is not as good as wow.   And one of the biggest problem it has is the item mall that ruins the gameplay.  That's why I quit it.

But since nothing is perfect, I don't blame those kids polluting the community of wow.  They just need time to learn to grow up.

Second wing is the MMORPG wing with Wow the basic Fantasy MMO and XXX the basic SF MMO, launched in 2012.

I think after 10 years (2014) they will announce Wow2 set out in a different time level and adapted world.

Who knows 2025, but certainly 2020 as such badly aged mmo's like UO and EQ could survive after 10 years.

But I heard the real world will end in 2012 so not gonna happen hehe

You should also put a group - Alien Haters.  I used to be in a guild that raided kara and za alot.  I didn't attend that much after I've experienced something that really bothered me much, they were the god damn kids around my age that were 15-21 in the guild or somewhat older, I couldn't tell.   They just discriminate against any kind of people that aren't white.  Sorry, people but i refer to them and no one else.  But I'm serious about their racism comments.  Not the whole guild, but just a group of 5-7 that I usually raid with in kara.  Often, they say the N word when they are bored, not just once, you know how those racist that say those word multiple times, just pretend like a joke.  And they laughed and kept telling stereotype jokes whenever someone brought up the N word.

The raid leader was not a racist tho, all he does is sit there and explain fights, manage time and what you call those... uhh Guild Points or whatever used to contribute and exchange for gears,   At least, he seemed to be more educated, but he always kept silent when racist jokes started to come up.  He and the other neutral guy were the only ones I talked to in vent.

So, I had enough and decided to tell the guild leader the problem, he didn't believe me.  He was in the bt/sunwell raids so he didn't even bother caring about the low gear guildies.   And by the way, this is a big guild, not some minor ones.  It is a well-known one in the server Executus.  The guild name is called Onslaught, I just couldn't forget the damn name, it's still in my head, their ways of speaking and stereotyping others.

When the leader didn't believe me, I just /gquit, /ignore him and all those racists that raided with me.  I was also considered a girly-boy because I didn't talk much.  You know why, all they talked/joked about were stereotype topics and gears.  And those topics don't interest me.   And it was a random guild that I found on guild recruitment channel.   But they kept me for around 10 kara runs because I was a decent healer until I decided to leave.

This happened about half year ago, b4 wotlk came out.

Edit: Just wanted to add, I couldn't report them because whenever they said those words and made stereotype/racism jokes, it only happened in the kara/za vent, but not in guild chat.  They were too afraid to make discriminative jokes/comments in guild chat with so many people.  But they will go all out when there are only the people that they know in vent.

My head will blow up when they release a 4th or 5th expansion.  There are just too many places to remember

I read many of the warcraft books but didn't know there could still be that many places to set another expansion in.   Although some of them come from wc3, like the great sea, maelstrom, emerald dream, etc..

I played on the arena with my bro and friends, we got to 1700-1800+ rating top.  We had fun but we hated it.  7 out of 10 times we face team that overgeared us with brutal and bt/sunwell stuff, and has rating 2000+  We managed to beat a few of them with our merc/vengeful kara/za gears and luck/teamwork.  But we still hated it.

they should make an arena with 1 v 1 system.  Like a duel, I dun see any problem with that.  After all, weren't arena like the one - Colosseum based on a 1v1 gladiator fights?  Also, they should set a fair competetion to players with the same level of gears.   If you think that's boring, then they should allow observer.   Another thought is if a player beats another, they remain in the arena, 1 min heal up, then face another opponent, whoever wins 7-10 fights gets better rewards.  There are many other ways to set things better and welcomed by players for arena..

Ok, Zorndorf.  I read thru your post and I am sorry for talking crap here.  I didn't do any heroics, It was my level 80 brother that was doing heroics.   My wow subscription ended 2 weeks before him, then there was the trip when his ended.  So I watched him playing heroics and stuff.  I lost memories of wow after the trip because I had too much fun, i guess.  But now I am staying at home 3 days a week besides college, getting home sick again, miss my friends from the place im from, and got nothing to do to browse mmorpgs in this site.   I am not working right now because I'll be having a week vacation with my family to London.  When I'm back, I'll work, attend class and maybe play wow? who knows..!

My memories of Nax: what I meant by "I didn't get to see nax before it came out" is that I couldn't get to see it because i was only 79.  I am sorry for saying "before nax came out"  I wasn't really focused when writing.  In fact, I didn't even know nax was out when wotlk launched.. seriouslly.  Last thing I was doing before quitting wow was in the icecrown place doing quests and dailies.  I couldn't remember seeing nax or hearing anything about it cuz I was tired of raiding and didn't intend to do it again.  So it didn't get my attention, all I enjoyed was playing with my bro and friends. - and of course, spaming in trade of my Crafting and lvling enchanting/jc! my fav

I sometimes hate myself for not thinking clearly when typing.  I will try harder to provide acqurate info on what I've said.. but first you gotta find out the mistakes i make in my post..

and thank you for shaking hand with me!

Edit: Just call me Falo (not the other guy) :) that's my troll hunter in game name.  & he's only lvl 71, not 74, I just checked armory and he is listed on the last page.. poor guy.  My mistake

I expected a slap on my face  when I post negative comments about wow.  I also expected to be corrected with some minor mistakes when I make comments.   I really have done 2-3 heroics with my 79 RESTO druid.  A healer... do you get that?  well, hope you did.  If 79 can't enter heroics tho, I might have been mistaken since its quite long ago.  But I still remember doing H nexus, uk, and w/e keep.  Anyway, I gave my reasons and my comments weren't aggresive.   I was only telling the truth but I made couple stupid minor mistakes.. like the 5 years of playing wow.  But how could i remember if it was 4 years or 5 years.  All i remember was it came out on 2004 and now it's 2009.   Just to let you guys know, I got to think in two ways when typing, my own language then translate it to English.  Also, given the fact that, my native language has a totally different way of composing sentences and grammar., so I am very sorry about my crappy grammar and english.

On the bottom line, I still love wow, just to let you know.  And I am 90% sure that I will come back playing wow again.  When it is time, of course.  It isn't going to be soon tho.

Once again, I did not lie about my characters,  I only have 3 70+ as I listed.  I didn't play when wotlk launched.  So I was a bit late on leveling my chars.  That's how I quit when Nax was about to come out.  I was 79, a resto tauren druid playing with my bro, and some really close friends I made when I created this druid.

That's my story.  The server I play on is Executus.  Hope that helps in proving me that I was telling truth, not lies.

And what's this achievement of victory or whatever.  Isn't discussing about wow the only thing we are doing here?  I don't treat this as a battle - - hope you don't too

/shake hand

I didn't blame the game for my mistake.  I was 13,  don't tell me you always made the right choices when you were 13.  that will be a lie.  I moved to USA when I was 12, I moved to a city that was totally different from the country I was from.  Everyone drives here, there are no transportation and kids at the age 13 could not go out if you live 3-4 miles away from the strip.  yes it's las vegas.  So anyway, all I had to do was attend school then nothing.  I don't blame my parents as their intention was to raise me and hope that I would achieve whatever they want and move back to the country I'm from to get a well paid job.

Back to the topic.. Again, I didn't blame wow.  And I don't play wow now, I  quit 6 months ago, the time when I planned the trip.   What I am trying to do here is to persuade some kids not to follow the same path I have gone through.  since wow is a totally different game from other mmorpgs.  It is easier to be addicted with this game than the others from my so called 4 years experience.  Now that was all  my own opinion.  But like you said, people got to be in control of themselves, so I agree with you, this is not the game's fault.  We have our own responsibilities.

After reading your comments, you actually taught me another thing, control.  I'm playing another mmorpg now, but I am almost in control of everything.  But I have to say this, I am in control of things a lot better now than I was when playing wow.

Anyway, i hope you understand what i'm trying to express here.

Sometimes, I wish I could write in my own language lol...

Edit:  one more thing I wanted to add is: wow has too much informations and databases, like wowhead, wowARMORY, allakhazam, thotbots, wowinsiders.. etc    It just has too much informations and you always want to check items status, drop rates, gear competitions (how to get better gears) on wowhead/thottbot.   you know what i mean? :P

Some of these people are trying to convince you to level to 80, please don't do it.  It will not change, not a bit.  I had a 79 tauren druid, 76 pally, 74 troll hunter.  Then I quit when nax was about to be released.  You know why? because I was tired of doing heroics every morning, then from 2-6, then 8-2am.  do you all see this? What is this? IT HAS CONSUMED MY ENTIRE LIFE.   I played wow when I was 13, 5 years ago.  and now what, I have wasted 5 years on wow... Right, it was fun, I couldn't agree more.  But If I were given another chance to make a decision again, well, you know what my decision will be.

I don't want to offend anyone but I think I already have, because I have insulted your precious game (which once it was mine too) but please don't do it, OP.  It will only worsen your life more.

I still miss my lvl 79 tauren Druid.  But after thinking about the same raid contents, same heroic dungeons and more and more same path of grinding everyday.  It makes me to turn away from the game.

I hope some of you get my feelings and apply to yourself as well before it is too late for you to realize what you have been doing for these few years.

and do you know how I quit wow? I took a 1 month vacation, visited my relatives and friends in the country I'm from and then after a month of interactions and reconnection with friends.  A question came to me, do I really want wow to be my life for the rest of my life?  right, it's like a drug.

Sorry World of Warcraft, but some things have to be said.

Edit: MY stupid Grammar
