so because they are working hard at creating a piece of shit makes that piece of shit extra special some how?  sure they are dedicated but what the fuck does that mean when their product is still worthless?  It's not ridiculous to call it a scam because thats exactly what it fucking is.  They are charging people to help them test their unfinished product and did so by lying to people about what the product really was.

Imagine it like this...one day youre reading the newspaper and you read an article about this new restaraunt and they tell you they have the most amazing food you'll ever eat in your life and tell you all the things that are going to be there and show you pictures of how amazing it looks and your mouth starts watering.  You then find out the restaraunt isn't open yet but its due to open real soon and if you give a down payment youll get access to previews of the restaraunt with free samples of food for you too try as well as a spot on opening day. 

Ok so you give this overpriced down payment and are told the restaraunt will be opening in about 3 months.  You get your free food samples and they taste like complete shit and are nothing like what you were told or shown and then you go and complain and say "wtf is this shit?" only to be told "sorry thats just the placeholder meal, its not the real thing but believe us we have the real thing and its amazing!  youll just have to wait!  This same exact event occurs over and over and now its been 5 months...2 months later than the restaraunt was suppose to open!

You ask the restaraunt manager for a refund but you are denied...despite the fact that they broke their contract and then you are told you only want the refund because you don't like their currently unfinished product and that you have to wait for the finished one to make a real judgment.  So now they are refusing to give you what you paid for and are refusing to give you you're money back.

This has been exactly what Star Vault has done.

Henrik(SV CEO) should be brought up on criminal charges and everyone should be refunded

 

Its more than eating 3 courses from a restaurant and drinking their fine wine and THEN complain and want a full refund. How many times have your tried that and succeed? (junkfood restaurants excluded). I would certainly not give you a full refund for that. Maybe if you complay directly at the first vourse WITHOUT eating it. People are paying for the game when released. They pay for the software (license). And just becasue it is beta and it is not a finished game, they come up with all stupid stuff and wants a refund. Good luck to keep the indie companies alive!!! We're gonna have hell of a mmo scene in the future if you all think like this.

And btw, calling it a piece of shit game. Get out of your cave and try to accomplish somehing yourself maybe? It's easy to complain hidden behind your screen and troll about all new games that not fits your need. I would like you to get as far as SV from scratch yourself. I think you had manage to day 7 and the give up because of all obstacles there is on the way if you dont have any money from start.

Well, just my point of view. Me, I'm just waiting for the polished MO which I know will fit mine and other needs. But as said, if your a noob mmo player, stick to your wow then. This is for us real hardcore gamers

Well, first off, it is a pre-order. Dont play the beta if you don't want to!? It means, you pay to get the game at release. Ok?

Regarding the boxes being delayed, ok, I admit I hate it as well. But as SV has stated, there are 5 companies working with all the dir´fferent stuff and 2 of them are having the delay. I think, poor SV getting screwed by another third-party again (GC history). Well, I am not 10 anymore and can wait for Santa another month or two I guess.

And regarding all the options you talk about, and that there are few models and empty world. No shit, it is beta ffs! And also (if you have been a real follower) regarding your weopons and stats of them. You need a skill for that. Do you thing you are GM in that skill from the beginning? Bah!

Also, taming is "placeholders"... Any way it is better to pop your horsie out from your backpack. Or is that more realistic? hmmm.

Ahh, I dont even bother to write anymore. You stated it yourself that you think MO suck and ALWAYS will... Well, with that determination I dont think you will play it again. So, say goodbye to your money and return to your DFO cave then please? And if it was too expensive for you, why even bother to buy the game in the first place? If you that poor, go get yourself a snes or something cheap. They were supposed to be digital downloads only from the beginning, but when the forums convinced them to make boxes and limited editions as well they did it. So, all cred to SV for LISTENING to their followers!

I even enjoy the game more than Darkfail and it is in beta (I know, its not rdy bla bla.. But I, as so many others, dee the potentiol in it). Compared to Darkfall and Eve, MO will not be any worse? They even got more features in than DFOa year after release ffs...

Well, MO is not for all, so then just dont play it? Calling this your "review" is rofl. It should be done with open eyes, not any narrow-eyed, negative dfo fanboi!

Yeah, there will probabely be N/A servers soon. But you should be able to play fine even at their EU server. I am playing with americans daily, hell, even players from Australia and they are at same fps as me!

Just come join, and when the N/A servers is up, just switch to that one... =)

Let's make this clear.
This guy wasn't in beta.
"trying a friends account, awhile ago." Doesn't make you in beta.

Mortal online is going to be a great game for people who want a UO feel.
If you're ok with the full FPV.

The skill system is the most unique I've ever seen in an MMO.
The skill system takes a very realistic aproach.  It encourages a level of diversity within skill training. 

Combat seems slow.  SEEMS.
It's not about spamming the left mouse button. 
It's about timing.  There is a level of strategy to it.
Smart fighters are going to be the best.

We don't have the mob AI yet.
It's one of the next two patches.  We have bits and pieces that make up the framework for the AI.
Judging the AI right now is pointless.  It's not actually implimented.

Statloss doesn't effect GvG. 
It effects reds.  People who do nothing but kill inoccent people.
This isn't a shooter.  It's not about constant ganking.

The actual crafting process isn't in yet. 
With the placeholder system it's already more dynamic then most every MMO on the market.  Darkfall uses the exact same crafting system as WoW.  MO's is basic?

You can build a house.
There's a couple of designs you can choose from.
You can go into the world and build it, pretty much any place. 
You can add modules to the house.  Expansions, a vendor, a stable.
Some of the houses are massive.  Several stories.
That's what Starvault considers basic housing.

You have never riden a horse into combat, until you've riden someone down in MO.
The animation and feel is something else.  I've never played a game with horseback combat like this before.  It is truelly unique to me.
The horse is always there.
I have to feed it.
I have to bandage it.
I have to make sure a horse thief (you have to have a thieving skill to steal a horse) isn't stealing it.
I have to take care of my horse.
Oh,
And you'll be able to tame a bunch of other crap.  Things like Minotaurs.
That's what Starvault considers basic taming.
And the complete taming system isn't in yet.

Starvault is going to have a crappy launch, but I don't think it's going to be due to gampelay.

Yeah, they are doing hell of a job. I mean the features they are adding is just great in the state of the game. As they have have been testing the combat system for that long and hopefully has all bugs fixed and manage to tweak it alil before launch I think it will rock when they go gold. I mean, when are usually mounts and player houses added in games nowadays ;o)

- Ammunition now has a tool-tip.
- You should no longer be able to jump while carrying too much stuff.
- Fixed issues with the knockback, it now works and looks a lot better.
- You should now correctly get the light-grey flag (locally allowed).
- Possible fix for creating characters with the same name but different caps.
- Fixed a bug were you got stunned while using a skill that wasn’t triggered.
- Fixed a bug where mana wouldn’t refill properly.
- Input while chatting should no longer trigger random movement on your character.
- Jumping while in the air will no longer drain stamina.

Creatures & AI:
- When battling, all members that are part of an attack will now correctly receive battle messages.
- Tamers will no longer gain skill in creature control, when the chosen target for command is invalid.
- Pets are now only able to attack valid combat targets.
- Any pet command will now abort any active command such as attack command.
- Pets should now always change from attack stance to normal stance after a battle.
- Tamers will not be grey flagged when their pets attack them.
- Tamers will be grey flagged if they hit their pets.
- When a Pet leaves battle, its attack target will now always be cleared.
- When a tamer tames a creature that has already been tamed before, the tamer will gain no taming skill points for it.
- Pets which have been lost due to lack of care will now have a low initial loyalty when being tamed the next time.
- Pet will now not run quicker towards tamer, if tamer is standing still.
- Abandon command is now possible regardless of distance to the pet.
- It should no longer be possible to tame several pets and keep the former pets’ commands going.
- Skill loss is now less imminent to loyalty loss.
- Pets loyalty loss is lower while its master is offline.
- Pets are now fully active while owner / tamer are offline.
- Bandage and Feed command now requires the pets name in the command as was intended.
- Fixes for the static collision detection of roaming creatures.
- The Minotaur’s charge attack will now send you flying.

Combat:
- You should no longer get flagged for using bash/push on other players.
- Less charge time for bows should now result in not only less range and accuracy, but less damage as well.
- Unsheathing a bow while charging it should no longer result in a constantly ticking stamina drain.
- Draw speeds for bows should now correctly be calculated from your strength and the bows strength requirement.
- You should no longer be able swing in melee while charging a spell.
- How well you fill the strength requirement of your bow should now properly affect the max range of the bow.
- Your bow should now cause less damage when shooting close to its max range.
- Bow hits should now show as "<player's> arrow hit you for <damage> <part>".
- Bow weak spot hits should now display correctly in the chat log.
- You should now be able to swap between ranged/melee combat mode just by switching equipped weapons.

Magic:
- The next spell cast after a "Your mind grew too tired to keep its spell" should no longer auto fizzle.

Skills:
- Fixed a bug where resting didn’t give you mana and health correctly.
- Fixed a bug where your attribute gain and skill gain increased at higher rates then intended when you reached 90+ skill.

Vendors:
- Fixed a bug where shift "got stuck" when splitting stacks of items.

Art & Sound:
- Small attenuation fix with Lumberjack/Mining-sounds.
- Heavy Robe hood will no longer give you the same shadow overlay effect as a plate helmet.

UI:
- Fixed a bug that would close multiple windows in the UI.
- Fixed a bug that would cause the mouse to not release UI windows that were being dragged.
- Fixed a bug that would prevent remaining attribute points from updating in the profile window.

Misc:
- Fixed a spelling error in looting a loot bag.
- Please refer to the Bug Tracker if you are curious about minor fixes that did not make the patch notes.

Jesus, always the same. It is a pre-order where you can participate in the beta if you would like to. Do not buy it, and then complain that it is not finished, because it is NOT, and they do not say it is (very open that it is a BETA, and it does not work as final...). It is a beta where they test the server and all that.

 

Please read it all before pre-ordering, and then complain about refunds. When purchasing Mortal Online, you pay to play it at release (December?), and if you want to play the beta? - fine! Just dont whine about it! Personally I think there shoul be no refund, since they tell you all the info when buying it! (yes, I have a friend who I got to buy it, and now wants a refund. I tell him it is his fault that he bought it, I told him everything about it and he read it all before purchase, so it is his fault and I would not grant him an refund!) Go SV!

Well, I guess the open beta testers would have some heads up when they go gold. And my other side would be: Give me a better game to play right now and I will play it if I already haven't. And yes, I did play DFO for some weeks, and meh, what a dissapointment.

 

Well, I rather play MO open beta than the other games out there today (exept for Eve sometimes)...
