This might end up being more expensive than the standard $15/m subscription, if you want to enjoy the game that is.
I can see all sorts of things like limiting inventory space / bank space, unless you open you wallet.
But also temporary stuff you'd have to buy over and over again to enjoy, like the Golem Banker you get from pre-purchasing the game, only good for 5 days, that alone you'd have to buy 6 times a month, combine that with tactical placement of banks, and you have a winner.
It's clever to let players lease stuff like APB do it, you'll continuously pump money into it, not that this is bad by itself, but if you end up paying more than 15$/m to enjoy the same things, then it's a b*tch.

If you are agaisnt P2W, then you were never their target anyway, they got your money already before the shop is done, before NDA is lifted, even before a release date, since there will be no revenue from sub, you won't be paying anymore.
After the box you have no value to them, only the cash shoppers will be of interest to Anet, and those who love cash shop won't complain when they add a even more obvious P2W scheme, right now their hiding it behind gems, that doesn't make it any less P2W.
There is a very good reason why they haven't finished the shop yet, they want your money before you know what's gonna be in the shop, because those who dislike 'advantage for money', wouldn't have bothered buying the box if they knew what was gonna be in it.
This way they get money from both sides.

Don't bother, game is bad. Too many similarities with Aion, the combat in Tera is differen't but for the worse.. unless you like your action painfully slow. Stop, swing, miss, dodge, repeat.. < That is the combat... In PvE the mobs attacks are so easy to predict, so it isn't even very satisfying to beat anything, it's all pretty simple and easy.
Anyway, good luck if you decide to try it anyway. |

Hmm, seems like a lot of people are ready to pay those 200 bucks on top of box price for "life", not based on you 2 alone, but from what I've seen on Official forum too. But atleast you guys will wait until you tried the game... :P
Read something else that's very interesting, there is 3 packs right... (these prices get's added on top of box price) Initiate - 15 euro - starter weapons, faction leather jacket, and a pet (Raven)... Master - 60 euro - 30 days additional game time, 1 additional character slot, 1 additional name reserve, 7 talismans to gear you up from the get go (1 talisman for each character gear slot), experience potions, and 10% discount in cash shop on everything for life. Grand Master- 200 euro - everything that is in the 60euro Master pack, lifetime sub, and a snake skin jacket.
But here's the kicker, even if you buy the game AND the master pack, you still won't get the stuff in the 15euro pack. so to get everything you'd have to give The game = 50eu Grand Master = 200eu Initiate = 15eu Total = 265 euro!
Another thing I noticed is that I paid 50usd for the game, and could have paid for any of the packs in USD too, but now that I have pre-ordered and my account is created, all the packs are now in Euro, and they cost same amount.. There's a big difference in 200 USD and 200 Euro...
But, as I said earlier, I won't buy any of it, all I want is the game.. :) |

I jumped! I have paid 50 bucks for games before that I found out wasn't for me anyway, it's no different than paying 50 bucks for playstation- or Xbox360 games, if notihng else, I'll get a months worth of entertainment. As for all the extra stuff, I'm not that worried, I didn't pick any of it, usually the in-game items you get for paying extra isn't as good as you think, the xp boosts are usually time limited, the items are only good for the first week, after which you'll replace them with stuff you find in game. Aion comes to mind, only thing useful at max lvl was the pre-order wings, which could fly a bit longer than the regular ones. It had xp boosts, amulets, ear rings, and much more, but all of it was #¤$!
Character slots? no thanks... 3 chars who can do it all is fine for me. Name reservations? no thanks, if I can't get my name I'll find another. Lifetime sub? never... You gotta be pretty damn sure you'll play it for a loooong time, to jump on that boat. Cosmetic cash shop.. debateable, RP'ers might find that annoying, but for me personally, better than P2W.
I'm looking forward to try this game, mostly because of the puzzle like nature of the game, but also the setting, very different from what we have seen so far.
Anyone else take the plunge? :P |

Woke up to an email today containing an invite (Thanks to FFgiant), installing it right now, so that I'm ready for tomorrow... But ye, there isn't real all that much to do, so I've read, still very early in the development, people who haven't gotten one aren't really missing out.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow anyway, gonna be sweet :) |

The world isn't black and white, it's not just 1 or the other, there is a million reasons why one would not have a job, and if you read some of the posts in here, you would learn why. It's not about "If you can't afford it, play something else" and it's not about "Spending ones money poorly" either, and most definitly not about sympathy. It's like you read what you wanted to read, and replied with a few smartass insults to make yourself appear as if you are a better person than everyone else, you have a job, good for you, let's just hope you'll never get into an accident which will prevent you from keeping a job, cause we all learned from your comment that if you don't have a job you're a fck human, right? And god forbid you would turn to computer games for enjoyment, cause that's just fucking silly, right?
So, I will help you a bit...
- RMT for the rich, and bots for the poor... - Companies moving towards CS', P2W, and gamers accepting it... - Poor people in those future MMO's (Should they just get a new hobby?)...
There you go, try and make an opinion on that and reply without insulting anyone, or in other words, stick to the topic.
Thanks. |

Well, first impression was interesting gfx, massive world, nice world mechanics with pushing back the invaders and opening more of the world bit by bit, I really love the videos they have shown of going out gathering in the middle of nowhere and having to defend your drill from tons of bugs... looks intense.
Well, compared to the other games, this will be a bit different, since it's an mmofps, consistent world, with fps action in it, so a bit different experience, but since I started in the fps genre and have grown fond of mmo's I'm pretty sure I'll like this one, bit of both worlds :)
Best part will be playing this friends, going out into the world to explore, find awesome cliffs to basejump from, and find new and scary bugs hehe..
