It's clever to let players lease stuff like APB do it, you'll continuously pump money into it, not that this is bad by itself, but if you end up paying more than 15$/m to enjoy the same things, then it's a b*tch.

This your 2nd forum of the day? They won't go rent to win either, your P2W thread failed too

*edit:So I just saw your edit, so I'll edit mine too lol.

If you are agaisnt P2W, then you were never their target anyway, they got your money already before the shop is done, before NDA is lifted, even before a release date, since there will be no revenue from sub, you won't be paying anymore.

After the box you have no value to them, only the cash shoppers will be of interest to Anet, and those who love cash shop won't complain when they add a even more obvious P2W scheme, right now their hiding it behind gems, that doesn't make it any less P2W.

There is a very good reason why they haven't finished the shop yet, they want your money before you know what's gonna be in the shop, because those who dislike 'advantage for money', wouldn't have bothered buying the box if they knew what was gonna be in it.

This way they get money from both sides.

so, are you saying that once you make your purchase ANET will get your money forever and strip you from any power?

my friend, when you buy "pre-purchase" something that its not out yet you have all the power to return the deal and get your money back. That is obvious enough to avoid typing posts like you and make yourself look bad. Besides, do i even care about your wallet? no, why should you care about ours? you clearly no nothing about GW2 either. But, it seems GW2 haters are feeling the pressure already.

keep on trolling buddy. Everyone has a right to speech although its only worth sharing wise words.

You should read the terms before you buy something..

Conspiracy theory much?  Seriously do you need to make a new cash shop post every single day especailly considering you dont even intend to play?

I think you're mistaken me for someone else.

Don't bother, game is bad.

Too many similarities with Aion, the combat in Tera is differen't but for the worse.. unless you like your action painfully slow.

Stop, swing, miss, dodge, repeat.. < That is the combat...

In PvE the mobs attacks are so easy to predict, so it isn't even very satisfying to beat anything, it's all pretty simple and easy.

He played to level 6, true story.

Grats Eddie on fixing the problem.

So I should endure painful boredom for x hours so I can get to the fun? You're messed up.

And I played a couple of hours past the starting zone, I'm not gonna stick around for end game hoping the game actually becomes enjoyable, it should be fun from the char creation and onwards.

Like your post were any better, let the man make threads about whatever he wants, you don't run this joint....

I dont understand the hate for it, no you cant become rich and quit your day job for it, but it can help you pay a bill or two, buy groceries etc, point is its a nice incentive to allow plays to get cash while playing something fun as hell, and no its not a pay 2 win scheme and different from diablo 2 because people were doing this in diablo 2, just with ebay, diablojsp etc, this is just an official, secure and safe way to do it. And its not really a pay 2 win because what are the chances you are going to see multiple grandfathers and windforces for cheap, those weapons will probably sell for hundreds, if not thousands, which is not farfetched as some gamers will do crazy things for items.

I see nothing wrong with it, its just a more secure and safe way to buy and sell real life money thats been going on in almost every online game today.

Maybe I am a purist, I just want to play games without the taint of RL buying power coming into the equation.

Like GW2? lol'd

Its strange because I love the fact that I will be geting content for free while some shlub spends his paycheck on keeping the content coming for me. All the while the guy gets only cosmetic or xp bonuses in a game where XP and leveling matters far less than in other games. People are likely going to go back to old content to pick up skill points anyway which would defeat the purpose of outleveling the content.

Anyway, obviously there are differnt opinions about it.

Believe it or not, this is the thing that concerns me more than anything.

Why is ArenaNet selling items for real money that have at best questionable value at worse, are pointless?

LOL.  The answer to your riddle is very simple.  The game mechanics are being tweaked to make them very valuable.

1) Why buy gems?  Well, to buy gold to buy influence which provides RvRvR boosts.  Very clear pay2win.

2) Why buy repair bot?  Well, despite early claims by Anet that repairing is a false mechanic they have indeed put in the repair gold sink that makes buying repair bots worth it

3) Why buy EXP boosters?  Well, until recently people claimed you could just sidekick up so they were meaningless.  Lo and behold, sidekicking up is no longer a feature.  Cash shop wins again!

The only unprecedented thing Anet is doing is charging you $60 for a game that they admit was "Built from the ground up with microtransactions in mind"  Most games today designed this way are F2P.

What do you guys get for sharing those? :P just wondering.

And this game is bad, just saying.

I pre-ordered the game, but non of the extras.......

What if the game blows?

Hmm, seems like a lot of people are ready to pay those 200 bucks on top of box price for "life", not based on you 2 alone, but from what I've seen on Official forum too.

But atleast you guys will wait until you tried the game... :P

Read something else that's very interesting, there is 3 packs right... (these prices get's added on top of box price)

Initiate - 15 euro -

starter weapons, faction leather jacket, and a pet (Raven)...

Master - 60 euro -

30 days additional game time, 1 additional character slot, 1 additional name reserve, 7 talismans to gear you up from the get go (1 talisman for each character gear slot), experience potions, and 10% discount in cash shop on everything for life.

Grand Master- 200 euro -

everything that is in the 60euro Master pack, lifetime sub, and a snake skin jacket.

But here's the kicker, even if you buy the game AND the master pack, you still won't get the stuff in the 15euro pack.

so to get everything you'd have to give

The game = 50eu

Grand Master = 200eu

Initiate = 15eu

Total = 265 euro!

Another thing I noticed is that I paid 50usd for the game, and could have paid for any of the packs in USD too, but now that I have pre-ordered and my account is created, all the packs are now in Euro, and they cost same amount..

There's a big difference in 200 USD and 200 Euro...

But, as I said earlier, I won't buy any of it, all I want is the game.. :)

I jumped!

I have paid 50 bucks for games before that I found out wasn't for me anyway, it's no different than paying 50 bucks for playstation- or Xbox360 games, if notihng else, I'll get a months worth of entertainment.

As for all the extra stuff, I'm not that worried, I didn't pick any of it, usually the in-game items you get for paying extra isn't as good as you think, the xp boosts are usually time limited, the items are only good for the first week, after which you'll replace them with stuff you find in game.

Aion comes to mind, only thing useful at max lvl was the pre-order wings, which could fly a bit longer than the regular ones.

It had xp boosts, amulets, ear rings, and much more, but all of it was #¤$!

Character slots? no thanks... 3 chars who can do it all is fine for me.

Name reservations? no thanks, if I can't get my name I'll find another.

Lifetime sub? never... You gotta be pretty damn sure you'll play it for a loooong time, to jump on that boat.

Cosmetic cash shop..  debateable, RP'ers might find that annoying, but for me personally, better than P2W.

I'm looking forward to try this game, mostly because of the puzzle like nature of the game, but also the setting, very different from what we have seen so far.

Anyone else take the plunge? :P

To be honest i really dont give a fk whether or not you work or not or if you lose your home or not of if you can play a game or not.  I work my ass off everyday and I dont have alot of money but i do have the common sense to know if i cant afford to play then i dont.  If i cant afford to pay to win then i play something else,  I dont come to the forums and bitch about it. I just pick a different game and move on.

You sound very bitter.

Not bitter at all and I am not sure what about that section of my post says i am a bitter person.  I am happy with life and my role in it.  Just conveying the message that I really dont care and wont care about some anonymous interent persons problems if they choose to spend their money poorly and get themselves into trouble doing so.

I'll assume the "Get a job" comment was directed at me, so I'll answer it.

While you sit behind your computer and bask in your glory, you might want to think about a few things, so you don't make yourself look like an ignorant child again, the next time you decide to reply to a thread.

The world isn't black and white, it's not just 1 or the other, there is a million reasons why one would not have a job, and if you read some of the posts in here, you would learn why.

It's not about "If you can't afford it, play something else" and it's not about "Spending ones money poorly" either, and most definitly not about sympathy.

It's like you read what you wanted to read, and replied with a few smartass insults to make yourself appear as if you are a better person than everyone else, you have a job, good for you, let's just hope you'll never get into an accident which will prevent you from keeping a job, cause we all learned from your comment that if you don't have a job you're a fck human, right? And god forbid you would turn to computer games for enjoyment, cause that's just fucking silly, right?

So, I will help you a bit...

- RMT for the rich, and bots for the poor...

- Companies moving towards CS', P2W, and gamers accepting it...

- Poor people in those future MMO's (Should they just get a new hobby?)...

There you go, try and make an opinion on that and reply without insulting anyone, or in other words, stick to the topic.

Thanks.

HI guys, I have two beta invites. Since I do not have FPS fan friends so I decide to freely give to two experienced FPS players of this forum. The other thing is you should write down a first impression ( somewhat in detail, e.g., feeling and  comparing to other game, etc.) of this game either post on the beta web or just send to me.

Anyone interested please write down you email and experience with FPS.

Have played more FPS games than I can count to haha...

Also played Doom and Quake like the poster above me...

CoD series up to CoD4

Battlefield series

Counterstrike

Well, first impression was interesting gfx, massive world, nice world mechanics with pushing back the invaders and opening more of the world bit by bit, I really love the videos they have shown of going out gathering in the middle of nowhere and having to defend your drill from tons of bugs... looks intense.

Well, compared to the other games, this will be a bit different, since it's an mmofps, consistent world, with fps action in it, so a bit different experience, but since I started in the fps genre and have grown fond of mmo's I'm pretty sure I'll like this one, bit of both worlds :)

Best part will be playing this friends, going out into the world to explore, find awesome cliffs to basejump from, and find new and scary bugs hehe..

Edit: forgot the email :P

Edit2: editing email out again.

Some people are poor because they are trapped, but alot of people are poor because they focus on possessions.  I'm not going to bother asking why you are poor, your post is really quite informative.

We'll this wasn't about my life story, and if I had began to write why I'm poor, this thread would have turned into a thread about how I should just get a job.

But let me share this, it isn't always just black and white, there are many shades of grey...

If I ever get the oportunity, I will jump at it, but chances are slim, why, is a personal matter.

But thanks for your concern, back on topic...
