The fact is, that WoW is very liked by alot of people still, in the the western market, why? Cause they were the first to rip off all the good parts from other MMO's and wrap them up in a warhammer scenario, and their own mediocre gfx so everyone could play it. Which is good, its a buisness, its about money.... I can see why buisnesses fight over subs, but why do we?? personally, i dont give a sh*t if Aion end up at 100k subs, if i like the game i will play it, if i dont, i will quit... simple as that.. The people running around these forums, trolling games, or praising games, is retarded at very least... theres no point.. And RR2 dude is nothing but a troll, he should be playing the game / games he praise so much, but yet i see him in here everyday, typing the same sh*t over and over again..
GJ bro.. maybe someday you'll get a medal from blizz... -.-

You dont have to be nervous about picking the wrong class in this game, every class can hold its own, but at the same time, there will always be another class who can mob the floor with you, that goes for all classes, they all have weak sides, and strong sides.
Classes that are most group based would be, Spirit Master, Chanter, and Cleric

I haven't played CO, since i can't get it to work on my computer, but i've played FE and Aion.. I coudn't get immersed in FE, it was bad GFX and movement was heavy and chunky, and also i lagged bad on a beast of a computer.. Which put me off, the overall idea of FE is awesome, it could have been done better though imo. That's why i picked Aion, and as it have been said plenty of times before, it doesnt really bring alot of new things to the table, but it definitly brings what i need from an mmo.. So this was my choice..
Since i havent played CO i cant really say anything about it at all, except from what you tell me, you said that you hit lvl 25 in a short amount of time, and for you it felt like a single player action game, makes me wonder how long it could keep your attention...
Anyway, i was in same position as you and ended up deciding on Aion, you can atleast try Aion for Open beta, and when open beta is over, you can decide wether or not you want to stay there.. open beta should be announced in this week.
good luck hunting for your game.

So you're saying, i am a lier??..
You should check out this thread:
This guy is a chinese / korean pro pvp'er, who been geekin' this game more than most of the people on mmorpg combined, and knows exactly what he is doing, his videos proove that. 6 man group: 1x gladiator, 1x Ranger, 1x Chanter, 1x Spirit Master, and 2x Clerics.. owning huge alliances!
When i write own groups x3 the size of yours, it doesnt mean that every single one of your enimies die, but some of 'em might run cause they know you are superior, and you can be, if you know how to set up your group, and every member of this group know how to set up their character and use it in the best possible way > skill...
This guy and his group use the glad and ranger to burst aoe dmg fast to half their opponents' group / alliance, which make them scared, and who woudnt be scared if half your allinces is down to 50% health in a matter of 5-10 sec.
These guys definitly know what they are doing, and its not possible for everyone to do, true, but don't say im exaggerating, go watch his videos.

Okay when that is said i want to tell you this...
You need to think bigger than 1v1, all classes have weak sides, and there will always be a class that can mob the floor with you, but by thinking in group setups, and choose your mates wisely, you can own people who outnumber your group by 3x.. and that is not exaggerated. << (or however that is spelled)
Pick the class you find the most fun, this is without a doubt the most balanced game on release ever, and every class has its purpose.. you will not play half the way through Aion and find that your class is useless in end game.
My first choice was Sorc, got tired of it at 20, not my style, then tried gladiator, but since i dont like playing the most played class, i tried ranger, they are tough to lvl, expensive too, and on top of that, they are the most squishy class in end game...
Im always up for a challenge, and i like how the its played, its my style, and i enjoy that class very much, which is what i made my choice out from. |

Ofcourse you'd rather play a month before than a headstart since headstart is only 2 days for US and 5 days for EU (cause of later release date in EU)
but you can't... They promised the pre-order people a headstart, and by allowing people to keep their char in OB they would make Head start useless, and make alot of people angry.
|
|
|
then there would be no point in head start for those who pre ordered... you will not keep your character from OB.. if you dont like the swipe, dont play OB, or atleast dont play it/them, to a too high lvl. |

On another note, i am surprised not 1 Nvidia user was expecting more :P Dont get me wrong, i have ATI, but i wish i had Nvidia... This is not a flame bait, just wondering.. but then again, outcome of poll, depends on every individuals expectations aye. Which makes it kinda useless :P Anyway, nice thread, i like looking at others spec and compare, will do more FPS testing when open beta comes along or in head start. |

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz Highest settings: - All sliders up on max
In Verteron Citadel i was running it around 30-70 FPS, looking into the sky while in the city it jumped to 110-120 FPS... This is still lower than i expected, i expected a little more stable fps, maybe 50-70, or 50-80 would be nice.. Can it be that i only have 4GB of ram??? i mean, Vista is eating up my ram.. :( I have a clock showing cpu usage and physical memory usage in %.. and physical memory is like 96% when i play lol.. maybe i should get 4GB more, so it doesnt get maxed out like that :P Edit: i only tested once inside Verteron citadel, not outside the city, or in Abyss. |

hmm, the key you have on your NCsoft account should be flagged as pre-order, and it will be opened on the 20th, i dont think you need other keys, then it will overlap the release date by 24-48 hours so you have plenty of time to get the retail key on your account. i believe community manager Liv said this on beta forums... or Aion source or something... i can't find link, but i could swear i read this somewhere...
Edit: okay, above poster beat me to it, there you have it.. |

lol, remember, what you think suck might be what other people like about the class.. Why did you find the chanter boring?.. was it cause you coudnt kill a mob in 3 hits??? ... I think if you are the type of guy who wants to just steamroll ppl and mobs, you should be playing gladiator maybe? :) just wondering |

Both are great, i like cleric more though.. and as a cleric you will have no problem getting groups, both early and late in game, and that includes PvE as well as PvP.. Clerics rocks Chanters.. :D First i had planned to play Sorc, played one to 20 and kinda lost interest in the class, so i figured i'd try some melee, went for the gladiator, it was very fun, but too many people play gladiators, and i dont like to play the most played classes.. So i tried Ranger... Hard to lvl, and expensive too, rangers were made for me!... :D |

People are always looking for the overpowered class, so they can lvl up and steamroll over everyone and everything, and call themselfs "hardcore leet uber pro PV to the P'ers".. But this time, you will not make a wrong decision and discover half way through the game that your char is useless.. QQ
You are safe to choose whichever class you like, just read up on what the different classes are capable of.. and choose from what you find fun to play... You like being in peoples faces and being tough as stone...- Templar... You like sneaking around... - Assasin You like setting stuff on fire, only to make them spit ice cubes 2 seconds after... - Sorc You like controlling your opponents, being the tactical guy among your group... - SM You like surprising your target with high dps and hope for a fast kill and run... - Assasin or Ranger You like being in peoples face, and cut them a new a**hole... - Gladiator You like helping your mates survive, and being the backbone of your group...- Cleric or Chanter
Just pick from what style you like to play, this game is prolly the most balanced game on release ever... So no worries... thank the chinese and korean people for testing this game before we got our hands on it :D Peace |
