It's a shame there's no gimmicky titles out. UW definitely does keep attention until you hit a bad round. Towns I bought, and can't say it's very awesome. I guess the best choice for now is to wait. Stardew valley looks to be good, but then again I loved harvest moon for SNES.

I've been playing minecraft the past few months, nearly to being burnt out on it. So to aleve that I'm looking for alternatives. I found 1 game, UnReal World, which is a finnish(?) , iron age survival sim of sorts. It's pretty good when you've got a sense of how to get in the fast lane(I'll list more on that at the end of this post). I'm curious if anyone's come across or knows of any survival sims that don't lean on zombies, but more on surviving through smart choice and maybe even fair options in crafting. ****Warning, Unreal World lingo below**** As for Unreal world I've found that of all the quick start options, beginning by the Driik territory can be a good way to secure food. Clubs are the best bet for trading, build up quality of club and you're almost printing money. Trade up to Master axes(woodsman for cutting trees, broad for making buildings) |

Lotr is ok from the looks. Does anyone know of any anime themed mmo's that aren't saturated in kid theme graphics?(IE no characters that look 10 with overemphasis on puberty) Wasnt there a .hack mmo at one time?

So I've been going over the list of mmo's in the fantasy category. What I'm looking for is: Fantasy with freedom to roam. A laid back approachable atmosphere would be a nice change. For now I'm kinda killing time with SWTOR(2 days thus far) and I've been considering EQ2 or even... WoW(with plenty of personal reservations consisting of very bad past experiences). F2p as well til work picks up to where I could look into GW2 or FFXIV. I may have spoiled my idea of an awesome mmo by watching anime like .hack and sword art online heh.. But mostly a game with allowance for a laidback playstyle would be fine. Swtor is ok but I'm more into swords over lightsabers. EQ2...I've played upto the 2011 content and can probably pick up again if thats the only option that fits. I've got guild wars eotn as well but I'm kinda thinking a bit more of a personal opportunity in crafting or even player housing(?). Other than that the only major limitation is the hardware, my laptop isnt built for the kind of gaming like tera or aion unfortunately.

Almost every mmo I've played theres been a net to keep things from going to hell, I'm curious if there are any games where choice really has consequences. I am considering wizardry online, once they get it functional and crash free.

I've looked over the gameplay videos, I was moreso concerned I'd play it a month and mothball it or put it in the closet for a time..

(Poll) Would you want to live in a world with Magic/The Force like in a MMO?

I consider anime like .Hack to be a big exploration on this idea. And I believe that it'd be no different from now, just more boom to a word or finger wave. In my opinion, it would present an opportunity to explore self-dependance of sorts, as well as interdependence. Really, when things are done trial and error, good and bad come of it and it just comes down to individuals to discern that much. Now if the world went harry-potterish, I'd say f it and walk away. |

I've been more or less playing solo offliners a while, now kinda looking for something with a smooth combat system, action/rpg like the zelda series would be good as long as it isnt a clone system. Decent community support would be good too, as I'd like to be able to contribute to something more than my own inventory. I guess at some point the lone wolves gotta find a pack to run with. |

Is there a sandbox game similar to minecraft, 3d graphics would be cool, except with the element from terraria where you can build structures, attract npcs to your "Town" and basically develop up to a thriving city from a 1st/3rd person playstyle. One game that has the playstyle i'm thinking of would be battlezone 3(?) where you could jump in a tank, or take command in a bunker and so forth. maybe i'm just thinking too ambitiously.. |

perhaps spiral knights for now. I've tried a few of the listed, mabinogi I liked except my laptop will require a gfx card upgrade to run it well. |

I've been going over the list and can't really find anything that grabs my attention. I'm thinking an mmorpg with action-adventure elements, no target-lock would be ok. For reference..something like an mmorpg Legend of Zelda link to the past in terms of combat freedom. Questing, stat differentiation, loot scaling are all optional. I'll pass on 2d graphics, right now my 2d fix is handled by terraria. If nothing comes close then I'll just content with what I have at my disposal and wait for pso2. |

ok, well so far I know how to layout a surface, put grass and trees on it, shape it for mountains and valleys(sorta) and after fiddling around I figured out how to enable fps controls onto the main camera. as far as other models I assume blender for making characters and objects? |

Originally posted by Castillle I'd have to say a range of july to november. We're up against so many problems outside of supervolcano's, satelite(moon/planet) impacts, etc that those are the least of concerns while not disappearing from the radar. population, nuclear war, infighting, we're pretty much up against ourselves because of one reason or another. Me? I've no particlar plan, just what skills I've learned. I'm just sorry that so many will suffer because of the decisions of a few. |

Ok let me make clear this one point first: I have trouble if details are shortcoming, so when I looked on youtube for tutorials regarding unity3d I was frustrated because somethings weren't so obvious for one reason or another. that said, which is a better engine for learning to make a game? preferably similar to LoZlttp, action-rpg style with 3d elements to it. I'm just looking to start learning as a hobby for the summer, and maybe further on. |

I believe there have been attempts at MMo versions of Harvest moon, none of which made much way.. |

Decent anime genre mmo's are hard to find. harder still since knowing what you want and finding it compares closely to walking into a pitch-black room with a pissed off handful of critters and one cupcake, you may not win unscathed. |

A pretty interesting concept for a game from what I've seen in the trailer and read in a magazine(damned if I remember which mag..) However the demo seems to be through Onlive which seems rather...defunct at the moment.. Why can't they just put a demo file on fileplanet or something? |
