Hey guys. I have the page ready on this end to give out the FilePlanet promo codes to the winners. The only snag is the URL in the instructions they gave me is not valid anymore it seems. I am waiting to hear back from them on the URL problems and once I do I just have to push a button and all confirmed winners will be emailed their code and instructions. I am very sorry about the delay. |

At least this is what we were told...

While it could be true that you might be at work or away during the alotted time. We have been told that we will be able to give you a date/time to get the key and download before a major batch is released to the rest of the FilePlanet subscribers. Things are really hot right now and FilePlanet has things "throttled back" to somthing like 2,000 keys 2 times per day or something like that last I heard...however, as time goes on they will already have issued all the keys FunCom has allotted them and the keys we give you will be from their main batch. I don't think it will be as tough to get the client from them in 5-10 days - even if you miss the window of opportunity they claim to have for our winners. We also should be getting some keys down the road that will not be part of this FilePlanet promo. I don't want to release any more details until a) I know exactly how many keys we are getting b) if/when I am allowed to release details and c) how and where people will be downloading the client - because we are in no way able to host 13GB downloads...the cost of such a thing would be staggerring based on what we pay for bandwidth here.

We have been told that our winners will be told a special time that they can get the download before the hoardes slam the servers. Call it a "running start" on the 13GB download Winners will be wise to keep this date/time secret of course as they will only ruin their own chances of downloading if they leak it to all FilePlanet premier members! |

Also remember that we have the "Most Popular" tab on the home page as well. This actually ranks games as to what kind of traffic they get on our site. When users are in the pages or gamespace for that game it ups the "hits." I actually like this one better than the Hype score because it is always changing and much harder to be tainted by "ballot stuffing" In the end, just remember that the Hype is just a preliminary way to allow people to vote their excitement for a game (or lack thereof). We don't curve these values like we do the game ratings, so they do tend to bunch up in a group of similar numbers. Perhaps we should consider curving them to spread them out more... |
