How long has this game been in development ? 10 years ?

Good to see that people enjoy finding out about a game before they post about it, oh wait. There's something kinda sad about the way that things have come to be, desensitized to everything, what became of subtlety? |

Oh I freaking love these developers! They even managed to slip in a sony bash! Where do I sign up to get a job at Flying Labs? I'll park cars, clean lavatories, kill mice, w/e needs to be done. I can't wait for this game to launch. Remember that monday is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, so shiver those timbers and buckle your swashes! ARRRR! |

From the article: The game will have an on-screen balance meter. As you move, you lose balance. The less balance you have, the easier you are to hit. This was implemented to prevent the “Strafe Battles” found in games like World of Warcraft. In Pirates, if you run around trying to circle your opponent, you will be very easy to kill. While stepping forward and strafing decreases your balance, stepping backwards increases it. In this way, you can fend off multiple opponents by backing up, at least until you are cornered, at which point the attackers can position themselves for the advantage. Now THAT is interesting! Interesting enough that I'll need to buy this game and test it. Also, interesting enough for me to go raise my hype for PotBS. ========================== |

Thank goodness they decided to get land-based combat in before launch. Nice to know that there'll be some musical content too. I just hope that it's not restricted to NPCs only - I want to play a musical instrument in the game.

3, you sure ? I could have sworn seeing the crappy graphics of this game(before they updated the gfx engine) while following the development of Shadowbane , which was 4 or 5 years ago.
