Does this game have any potential? (serious question, NOT A TRoLL) |

With the fanbase that Star Trek has developed over 40 years (That's right, FORTY years), not to mention all those who are at least mildly interested in Sci-Fi RPG's, there is a huge amount of potential.
The game is pretty much a powderkeg: It'll blow up, and either be incredibly excellent, or dissapoint immensely. I'm hoping for the former. Now, on to my question in return: Why do you seem so doubtful about it? It sounds like you're making an assumption before doing any research and backing up your claim (I made that same mistake here a week ago. believe me, people here don't like dry arguments |

Actually the graphics they have released seem to surpass those of most other mmorpgs out there at the moment. SWG's and Eve Online's ships don't look near as realistic.

If you are not a Troll, please post what concerns you have. Graphics look great, in my opinion, and the ideas they are offering sound wonderful. But, being that potential in this context means: 1. capacity for development: a capacity to develop, succeed, or become something has the potential to be profitable All it would require is the mere name "Star Trek" and, with its fan base, presto- instant potential. -W. |

However........be prepared for the whine and cry Star trek fanatics on the forums when the game goes live. To be a fan is one thing but I guarrauntee every screw loose fanatic will be playing and when they start getting their asses handed to them by "regualr" gamers they will be screaming on the boards and there will be nerf after nerf after nerf. Wait and see. |

Perpetual intend the main emphasis of the game to be co-operative play, PvP will be a very minor part of the gameplay (hints at Holodeck 'recreation' PvP). No one will be handing asses to anyone. Maybe you should try reading up on STO before you start giving others the benefit of your sage-like advice :) Tam |

I had hoped for at least one person with a modecum of intelligence but I guess that was asking too much. I shall write in third grade format so you can understand, ok? :) The Star trek freaks will be craptastic at every aspect of this game expect for roleplaying and will scream NERF< NEF< NERF< becasue "normal" people have a grasp on reality and will always be better than they. How was that? simple enough for you to understand? good :)

Jack, if you've nothing constructive to say, go play WoW.
It's just what he said: The point of STO will not be to fight. The point of STO is to immerse Star Trek fans in the universe of Star Trek, give them a more realistic perspective on the way things work, and to show that even the 24th century isn't perfect. But you want third grade intelligence? Fine, here's your third grade intelligence. You're a big stinky doo-doo head who eats barf for breakfast and my dad can beat up your dad! |

Ultimately its not me your insulting, its your own claimed intelligence. Might i suggest some sort of anger therapy? Tam Edit: BTW I voted ST Freak, been a big fan since i was a kid and still am. |
