You are dealing with novices who don't understand the difference between allowed use, rented use, licensed use, and the IP being sold. Explaining proper business is like hearding drunk cats; sure, it is possible but far from worth the pain and suffering from the effort. |

I simply misread the statement. No need for insults nor to turn this thread into a flame. Uncalled for. |

LilBoPeep, I just wanted to make sure I not miss any info and my statements were clear enough. And granted all this issue is not trivial, so you were right in simply asking for clarifications. I'm trying to answer if I'm around. You made again a good point: I never sold any portion of VWT. BTW would like to thank people who wish me good luck and spend time to understand the situation. @Vyava: The novices who don't have any clue of what are IP rights or who prefer to ignore these rights are certainly NPCube/Farlan. |

Pix, you have all my support. Back in 2001, i had an interview with you in Lyon, and what you showed me at that time was certainly impressive. It's a real shame that the situation evolved the way it happened. As a programmer, it's pretty clear to me that the D&L team, lacking the research phase you made and experience you had, could have never replaced the terrain engine by their own version in a couple months only. Plus, even if only a few hundred of lines of code from your original work are remaining, it is enough to be considered a derivative work, meaning that they owe you credits.. and more. How's the legal situation progressing ?

I was using novices in reference to NPCube, not anyone else. If that was misunderstood, sorry wasn't the intent. |

Bro, it good to hear from you again. Funny thing is I remeber reading (hearing) about all this when it went down, I even downloaded some of the DnL movies that have V-World tech on them. Most followers of this game assumed that since Farlan/Np3 went on with this projest that they settled with you our of court. That was the general concensus amongst the fanbase. It's insane to find out the released the game and thought you would simply go away. My Question to you is Vuur really that un-business like.. is he really that Smug ..? BTW... we are all on your side. That's some impressive technology that you've created and the only thing I enjoyed while playing SoG. -Zvorak |

Vincent why didn´t they accept you as sub-contractors as you and your team VWorld semmed to have done a brlilliant job, I have never undestand that. Since after the VWorld team left things have only gone donw-hill for them I just don´t see the point why they just don´t admit that they´re using your engine whats the problem with that, since they have lost all their rpoud allready. Also why haven´t you been abale to sue them yet? Are there lack of proofs or something itss seems rather obvious to me. Good luck and I just hope that you will find a solution to this awkward situation.
Best Regards, Gralj OT: I bet ZtyX is Vuuar in disguise or something ;] |

Nice idea Pix, but I do have to call you on one point I disagree with. At this point I have my doubts that anyone at DnL could program a VCR, let alone a forum bot. Other than that, you rule. |

Mr Bloodworth is again spouting the lies surrounding the VWORLD use: Originally posted by Aratorn: It is based on Vincent Pourrieux's work. His company is VWorld, and his engine was presented as "the engine in the heart of MAFATE" in mid 2004. Mr Bloodworths response: seems to me this is yet another example of far their lies have gone and a fine example for _Pix_ to use. (doesnt his statement sound an awful lot like IKS?)

They keep it up, they are just giving _Pix_ more to work with. Incredibly ignorant.

Hey Pix, if you ever read this, tell us if there's a chance a GOOD mmorpg developer will use your technology? It's the one good aspect of D&L and it's being ruined by a shoddy game. I would love to see that terrain technology put to use by competent developers. |

There's nothing awkward in this "situation" except for Farlan. I never said NPCube did not accept VWORLD as subcontractor, not at all. Sorry if you "understood" this way but what I said was: October 2004: NPCube's management doesn't succeed in proposing a contract respecting my IP rights. Consequently, VWORLD team is no longer working on the project. As to why they do not to admit they are still using VWT, I think this is simply because they want to re-sell it. |

There you read: NPCube claiming ownership on proprietary cutting edge technologies. This is simply not true. Oh, and BTW, I find this quote particularily pertinent: In August of 2002, five talented and ambitious people joined together to form NP Cube, a company primarily devoted to the development of innovative and exciting titles and video game tools. With a history of working side-by-side on numerous games, this group was naturally drawn together by the respect and high regard for each other that developed over many years. |

Well, most followers of that game were wrong then. It's been more two years that I keep trying but it seems NPCube simply doesn't want this to stay out of courts. Question of strategy I guess. But believe me, they are wrong in believing I will give up. As to Vuuar's potential high degree of smugness, I'll leave it to your own wise judgement, certainly not my best interest in here to express anything concerning that point. |

Of course there's a chance, otherwise VWORLD wouldn't be called a development studio anymore! Just give us the right partners, among others people with brilliant gameplay ideas and dazzling server tech knowledge. |

The VCR update will be in the next patch. BWAHHAHAHAHAAAAAAA like the rollback huh? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAa Actually I have talked to a dev about the VCR issue, it came out in the previous patch, but only the hour part was right, somehow they got the minutes to read "DnL sucks". They did a roll back to the previous version the minutes still read "DnL sucks" but now the hours say "Farlan can eat me". Who knew? |
