or are there any games in the works or anything where you can make elaborate addons. That can do stuff like make a one button mash macro, or graphical/UI changes?
I've played Eve which does not require macros, and i've played WoW which I wouldn't have played nearly as long if it wasn't for macros. I tried like RF online and DDO and the lack of macros (unless I just didn't figure out they had that capability) made it really stupid to me, I can handle pushing one button for 4 hours, but I can't handle pushing the same 4-5 button sequence for 4 hours. jack |

Asheron's Call. You can download ACTool and do anything to their game as long as you keep paying to play.

Star Wars Galaxies, although a terrible game, had some awesome macros you could setup with a tutorial, or a bit of experimentation. Everquest had some cool custom interfaces/skins to download, some that added new graphs and so forth. |

Excuses are refuge of the weak. |
Yeah you can get a UI where all you have to do is press one button over and over and it does everything for you. |

You can get a UI for AC that plays the game while you sleep.
No lie. |

making and using the things that do everything for me is the fun part. If someone else makes them I'm really not interested, and that's where .lua and .xml are pretty friendly, I looked at something on that ACTool and it was a long list of numbers at one point, looked kind of like a huge learning curve there.
I made my own macro for my warlock that cast siphon life, corrruption, curse of agony and dark pact, life tap, and if had less than 20 shards and the mob was less than 8 seconds to death it would cast drain soul. It would be pretty lame to use something like that that someone else made, but since I made it myself and can change it at any time it adds a whole new dimension. Also with my warrior in WoW, anytime I enter a horde city or noob area I have a macro that switches myself into level 20 cloth and makes me look like a caster, it's funny, and I made that one myself too, it's one reason I like WoW. A game like EVE i can play without macros i can handle cause it's not as repetitive as a WoW or RF online or Lineage 2, but i simply cannot play another game like RF online/Wow without being able to make custom macros and interface changes. |

Its pretty rare and I suspect alot of companies are leary of it because of cheating etc. I personally thought the open nature of WoW's UI was awesome, but with the CT-Raid stuff and decurse etc. I guess I can see some people points about it being too much. Meh.
