Garrett Fuller interviewed the team behind Silkroad Online. Recently, this game launched to players around the world and to date has scored a solid rating on our MMORPG.com Rating Meter. We find out what all the fuss is about.

MMORPG.com: What type of weapons and combat can players expect? Are the weapons, clothing, and armor historical in their look and feel?

Silkroad Team: The Chinese race is armed with the blade, sword, spear, glaive, and the bow. These 5 weapons are used by 3 weapon techniques, and a healing ‘Ki’ based mastery. These can all be respectively selected and in the selections of skills; each character will have an infinite variety of essential differences.

The weapons and armor are each divided into 12 different types and from the lowest 1st degree to the 6th degree weapons; these weapons are all taken from historical accounts of weapons and defenses in order to be a grounded in reality as close as possible. The 7th degree to 12th degree equipment are based on elements that do not violate the cultural feel yet have hints of fantasy and use imagery that has a powerful feel but at the same time does not stray too far from the historical.

In the case of the Chinese, 12 spirits of the land, animals, and their images are used on the equipment and for each have uniqueness to them. In the case of the Europeans, the Imperial imagery of 12 constellations differentiates the equipment.

You can read it all here.

David Allen''s motto: "Vapourware is my business, and business is good."

Places like Tehran and Constantinople aren't in game yet. Not in the non-Korean servers anyway.

I DO NOT PAY MONTHLY FEES to be A BLIND LOYALIST.I would rather GET PAID to be 1.

2 things...

1. Fix the xp auto share (shared xp) partying mode OR totally remove it.

2. RvR would be the next step to accommodate the future additions.

As promising as the interview went, it's really weird why the above 2 lacked urgency from Joymax?

1. Fix the movement: add a WASD setup.

2. Get the game properly translated. This interview looks like it was, so why can't the game be as well?

3. Add personal/chat ignore filters - seriously

yeah WASD movement would really improve my current semi annoying giants soloing. lol the interview was probably heavily reedited by our forums' owner editors. i'd vote for Joymax to pay em though to retranslation services. Seeing 'glaives' as 'glavies' on a day to day basis can really get up to your ass errtime. and full marks for the chat filters! damn we got an influx of idiotic global chat spammers in exponential rate these days!

Joymax can own the f2p heap, how or when is up to them to go figure..that is.. maybe after they'd finally learn what 'parry' means in due time.

The global spam...when you consider one pays *real money* for the "privilege" of talking globally, you'd think it'd be put to better use, rather than declamations about PlayerX being gay or some earnest Vietnamese guild recruiting English-speaking members when they can't speak English themselves.

Never a dull moment...but it does get old.

Yes, the "glavie" is nonsensical as well.
