''Death isn''t the end, it''s just another path in life that we must all face.''-Random quoter

SWG was such a great game before NCU/NGE. I miss the old days. But SOE have ruined it completely. They are ignoring the fact that millions of members have quit and are not doing anything but desperatly trying to improve SWG (not working). The graphics are currently great, lag is very bad, high standard of bugs, scenery feels repetetive and deserted (too big and lacking), proffesions have been down graded, there is no more CH or docter, no moe ATST, smaller community wherethere is no PVP action anymore (there could be but factions are unbalanced), great choice of weaponry and armour though, quests feel repetetive, they lack action and have little meaning to the war. SOE have mucked this up and so have lucas arts who have control over SWG!

A game that used to be good but ruined.

SOE or another company should start afresh and make a new SW universe.

With the destruction of a once enjoyable game, $oe has lost all thier happy customers. Pre-cu, I was content to hang out in the cantinas, go exploring(with and without vehicles), participate in pvp when I wanted, and just play the game. I made a few friends, my brother played it and we all had a good time. I remember the good times of running around lost (first few days) and discovering Jabbas palace. When my bro came home from work I told him, " Dude fire up SWG and Read your mail." Within 25 mins he was standing outside Jabbas palace. He got into see it that day, I could not becuase of a negative jabba faction. Then we decided to roll out in the desert and ran across a krayt. Dear god I ran and ran and ran. My bro tried to fight it but was killed quickly. I finally ened up in wayfar adn tried to run back to Mos Espa but was killed and recloned there. This was fun. This was adventure.

$oe singlehandly killed that fun. We tried the CU and played here and there but decided to not play after awhile. Then after 6 months and two expansions later, they dropped the NGE on the game. We both downloaded the trial and both went Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!!!!!!!! Lord have mercy what they done did to this here game? Since the trial (I played it for 4 hours and tried to like it but could not), I cannot believe this large pile of data excrement is still online as a pay to play game. $oe do us all a favor and shame the devil and tell the truth, "We have no clue what we are doing and have no idea where we are going with this product." Thats all I feel is approriate to say at this time.

ok, I will make one statement in this thread towards SOE...

"Where are you goin' city boy?"

"There are two kinds of spurs, my friend. Those that come in by the door; those that come in by the window"

I think the best part is that with all the different forums that have this types of thread, we get to see "angry at SOE" always on the front page of this site as the most active or most recent topic. Wonderful PR for sony. :)

Another name to add to the SOE hate list.

As I have posted before in other threads, this was the best game I had ever played - full stop. Not MMORPG, the best GAME.

Granted I probably played it far more than any sane person should, averaging between 8-12 hours a day at one point (I was unemployed at the time), lol I even played for a 36 hour session once when I was doing the Knight Trials on my first Jedi. Ridiculous, but there you go - thats how good the game once was.

Now it is utter rubbish. I didnt give the NGE a chance when it was launched as my guild (60+ people. Was a Dark Jedi Guild, only non-jedi were peoples alts really) were so annoyed about all our work and in-game credits (for instance I spent over 600 million credits on my 2 jedi suits with all the appropriate CA's, thats not to mention the countless millions spent on Krayt Pearls) being wasted that we all instantly cancelled and moved to another game.

I didnt really enjoy the game we went to (CoV), so I left after 3 months and have since then been looking for another MMO to play. I have tried several, but none even come close to what Pre-CU SWG was like for me.

So earlier this month I stupidly re-subbed to SWG for a month. OMG it is absolutely awful. My server (Bria) probably has about a sixth of the population it had Pre-CU and from what I have seen on the other servers that I have played around on over the past couple of weeks it is still the biggest population-wise. Bloodfin, Chilastra and Ahazi all have less than Bria but at least you see some people about the place, the rest that I looked at were totally devoid of players.

The amazing thing is that the lag on Bria is even worse than before with a sixth of the poipulation playing, way to go SOE. Bugs are everywhere, rubberbanding, entering the vette and then just walking around space, specials not working, animations piss-poor... I could go on all day. The only semi-good thing is the legacy quest
and its not that great also once you have done it once with 1 toon the desire to do it again with another is minimal to say the least.

Needless to say I have already cancelled the 1 account that I opened up for this experiment (used to have 4, some in my guild had more).

SOE have totally destroyed this game, it is dumbed-down to such a level that it is actually painfull to play it. I really feel for the crafters and entertainers, they are useless now as are my 2 jedi. The community is nowhere near as strong as before either, a lot of smack-talking idiots duelling outside Theed SP. i am rambling now, so I will STFU.

In closing, SOE ruined this game and crapped all over their customers in the process, great work ::::37::

MMORPG History:
Playing - Age of Conan.
Played (Retired) - AO, SWG, MxO, EVE, WoW, RFO, SoR, CoH/V, EQ2, GW, Lineage 2, Vanguard, LotRO.
Tried (30 days or less) - AA, AL, Silkroad Online, Hero Online, Rappelz.
Favourite MMO - Pre-CU SWG, 3 Years, 4 Accounts, 2 Pre-CU Jedi (1 Pre-9).
Awaiting - Star Wars: The Old Republic, Fallen Earth, Earthrise.

I copied this from the Vanguards "We're Angry at SOE" thread.:

High street games shops have been told by Sony that there will be no PS3 pre-owned sections in their stores as it will be illegal for customers to sell any next-gen PlayStation games that they've bought, retail sources have revealed to GamesRadar.

It seems that Sony is planning to adopt a licensing system that will mean gamers won't own the PS3 titles that they've paid money for. Instead, they will only be purchasing the licence to play the game and that the software itself will still be Sony property - meaning that the disc won't be the customer's to sell.

We assume that the thinking behind this move will ultimately be to stop PS3 games being resold several times - which currently snatches potential sales away from Sony - and to counter the impression in consumers' minds that games are only really worth their pre-owned price and are not worth buying new.

When we contacted Sony, it issued us with the following statement: "We have made all of the official announcements at E3 and cannot make any further comments at this time. We will be announcing more news running up to PlayStation 3's launch."

I just thought it was an interesting read.  Thought I would share.

"then again I could be wrong, but that''s just my opinion" -Dennis Miller

  • I played the Massive Multiplayer known as Star Wars Galaxies, SWG has been in the spotlight on several occasions regarding Sony Online Entertainment's (aka SOE) in the past for its ineptitude, caustic down right dirty business ethics when it comes to developing and marketing of SWG.
  • My intrigue started innocently enough in 2002 when I came upon SWG, which was being developed. I was overjoyed being a major Star wars fan and having major respect for Lucas for his ingenius approach to movie making during a time which Special FX was truly in its infancy and utilized it with such panache and excellence. I awaited patiently until SWG came out. I purchased the game in July 2003 and did what any normal minded drooling player did, I sat back and let the game immerse me in its universe.
  • All was good in the Universe that is Star wars galaxies,  this game was phenomonal, unique, and exciting. You could choose from up to 34 professions that encompassed the entire Star wars Lore, THe combat and leveling system was truly unique. THe were alot of classes like Tera Kasi artist (form of hand to hand martial arts combat), medic, combat medic, entertainer dancer for mos eisley cantina, droid engineer, trader, smuggler in which u could develop spices and illegal drugs to boost and hieghten your strength, senses, agility and overall base stats, there was the wonderful Creature handler in which you could tame the wildest of beast( RANCOR! ANYONE?), a commando using heavy weapons, an squad leader, choose sides of Rebels and Imperials (used AT-ST's as pets;until they nerfed it) and my favorite which I have been since i started, the  scandalous, savvy Bounty Hunter who shows no mercy! only important is his payment for his bounty! As you can see the list goes on! Can you feel my excitement?? my enjoyment?? I did once.
  • Well I am sorry to say that enjoyment went on a long trip to oblivion only to be replaced by a cryptic unwieldy clunky combat system called Combat Upgrade ( aka CU) this created an uproar in the community, which at this point initiated the first large exodus of SWG players who felt betrayed.. But it does not end there, there was second CU upgrade, then finally which put the nail in the coffin and the bullet in the foot of SOE, the incredibly infamous NGE!! I can not tell you how much of a tremendous uproar this created in the SOE forum boards, and SWG player community, this I believe SOE truly put its foot in its mouth.  The game during its first year, I will admit was bit buggy to some degree, but despite this, no one really complained overall, everyone loved the unique gameplay SWG offered. I feel the buggyness was the lazyness of the development team which I feel could of been solved with hardwork and determination. This turned slowly under our noses in which SOE was slowly organizing its plan of attack.
  • THey have for the past 2 years of SWG lifetime, has been critized, accused(rightfully so, there is tons of evidence on the net, multitude of sites such as warcry,ogaming.com, mmorg.com and as well as CNN, even starwarsgalaxies.com forums) that they have orchestrated and blatantly lied to its own player base about its true intentions and the direction of the game. This ranged from purposely incorporating bugs that locking out and preventing players from completing quests so as to maintain subscriptions until they decided to fix it. QUest delays, content missing, developing new expansions with missing content, essentially unfinished expansions being sold to the public, such as quests, and unfinished coding,( entire map and zone aras not texured, only with developer placement boxes e.g. eq2 splitpaw saga ) then releasing before it is properly tested having paying players to "beta test" the expansion.
  • One major example to look into for this is TOOW ( Trial of Obi Wan) in which they relea
