The race combining sounds great. But if it doesnt effect height and build then it's incomplete. I'd like to make a half elf half dwarf that basically looks like a short muscular elf thats shorter than an elf but taller than a dwarf. That would be my ldeal avatar.

It does in fact affect height and build. You can already use the slider to create a character that's a mix of Burian (short, stocky) and Ilvari (tall, slender, pointy ears). Plus you can then make the figure skinnier or bulkier in the next set of options.

Why would our graphics ever look dated? We're not going to just stop working on the game.

I highly doubt they're going to be firing all the artists and programmers just because people are playing it.

That includes after you all can actually play the game.

I played Gemstone III when it was free from AOL and for a few years after it moved to total control from Simu. It has been by far the best online rpg I have played. I think and hope that Simu will put the same if not more effort into Hero's Journey.

I can't wait to see more of this game and for it to come out.

Combination of races is nice, but I think the combination of classes is even more exciting. That gives even more diversity to the game on top of the races.

HJ will be awesome....

Bye bye, VG:SoH, LOTRO, DF, DnL, WH. After reading today and seeing what HJ is becoming, I have not only deleted all my favorites to them upcoming games, I almost uninstalled Guild Wars, EQ2 and WoW, LOL.

Too bad Beta isn't here or I would have deleted and unsubscribed for sure.

Oh, btw here is a snipet to what I am talking about.

Hero’s Journey has a hybrid class system. There are nine classes (Warrior, Gearknight, Rogue, Ranger Wizard, Necromancer, Cleric, Bard and Healer) and players select both a primary class and secondary class. The combination chosen and which is primary and which is secondary creates a new class. Thus, a Cleric/Necromancer is an Occultist and a Necromancer/Cleric is a Diabolisist. The two trees merge, with and slant based on those choices.

I have been waiting for this announcement for a while, and I am greatly pleased on their progress.

It's actually quite funny though, I have been working on a game with the exact type of hybrid primary/secondary class system with split trees... runes for different abilities and bonuses... it's rather ironic.

Anyways, yeah, can't wait for HJ... but then again, that hasn't changed... ever

Ok, I have a couple questions rather than a suggestion.

Will there be duel-wielding? If so, what is the plan to balance it?

Also, any chance down the line of a reptilian PC race?

And in regaurds to the auto-attack/specials combat: Will be more like DDO (no /stick, fast paced, lots of strafing,), DAoC (/stick, combat chains, reactionaries, prositionals) or WoW (really bad.*please say no to this*)?

   Got back from E3 show Thursday and was able to play a little of Heroes Journey. I am not in the trade business but just know very high people that work for the convention center so I get into all the shows :). Let me tell you that HJ was fun even if they were working with a St louis server which made it laggy but thats understandable for a game nto finished yet. The review does not give the map with the catapults justice though. When these babies hit the fortress, that thing falls nicley in the spot that is hit. Not some cheap destruction but almost as if it has the same technology Half Life 2 had. The battles are fast paced and very easy to get into. The drawing for aoe is fun. Gives a little more thought into battles, spec long range. The dragon was cool and would lay destruction everywhere, to buildings and the peeps, good or bad. I also saw a glimpse of a swamp map and the water effects are nice. I am speculating that a nicer system will be needed but who knows. Also watched someone using there creation tool and that program is sweet. It seemed to not take long to throw together an adventure so I think we will have fun gaming for years to come with this. The guy that was showing me, (sorry I can not remember your name) stated they were a small company and can only work on one game and all I could say was, with this game you will only need to make one game. Simutronics needs a booth next to Microsoft or Sony so it will get better traffik. They deserve to be noticed better and Vanguard, though not a bad game itself, is nothing on the level this game will be. Thanks Simutronics for the hope that innovation is coming back to gaming again.

Plus Nintendo Wii and the game Spore were awsome. I reccomend picking these up also. :)
