k ****** got a mail from SOE ..swg is and has been bought over by bioware..lucas arts pulled the plug on SWG a long time ago..soe has been milking the player base for the last 8 months.20k players paying ex amount of dollars per month and they had a 6 man team working on swg..lucas arts forced soe to tender the starwars rights as they have had enough negative feeds from it..bioware HAVE bought the rights..i said this a while back....

k wait a while then it will be made public..bioware bought the swg PRE-CU rights well over a year ago..but theres a problem with soe saying there servers they used to host the servers..thats the issue at the moment..the servers...

bioware wont re release swg till they have revamped alot of the issues we all had before cu hit..eg..not enough content..

i believe bioware are putting more content and quests and planets in before they release swg under there name..they have a severe server issue but there programmers and devs are working on the game engine and general gaming experience to keep folks interested in the basic workings of swg..they know if they get it correct they will get a core of 200k players back playing swg and then they can build on it with reviews..

theres talk of swg2..thats bollocks

bioware have the full rights to the online swg..i also know they are trying to implement that jedi are rare as players..even rarer than the start of SWG. i dont see bioware releasing the new swg till spring next year..

they are going for content

certainly would be nice but heard this rumor shot down over a million times since Bioware got to Austin...

Edmonde they also shot down the rumors of the NGE until the very end.  So really don't believe anything SOE says until the opposite happens becuase the opposite of what SOE says usually happens.

well Tvalentine, the Pre-CU version of SWG was actually a MMORPG but the piece of crap we have now is not.  They could have said they were "developing" a MMORPG as in making changes on another one.  They probably don't want to announce too early.  Or there could be a dozen other reasons.

I'll believe when I see it. Everyone and thier dog has a rumor and no one every produces one shred of evidence.
Be it emails, transcript of a conversation, recorded interview, whatever.

It'll be neat if it's true. I just think it's bollocks.

If you were Bioware would you want to take over an already completely f'ed up game like SWG?

Nope.. I WOULD want the liscene for the IP though so I could do it right.. Not to mention I would also have a playbook of what people like and dont like... I also would know what not to do to my paying customers.

IF Bioware has acquired the rights for SWG, they're not just gonna tweak the old game and re-release it.  They're going to build what is, basically, a new game.

Note the bold, red IF, however....

i see a bunch of stupid posts go surf around and you will see bioware did buy out LA's license, LA finally got a good offer from bioware, they bought it 4/1/06 and no it is not april fools it is the truth, they would not announce something like this with it being not true, and also they havent denyed their annnouncement yet.

However, the question you should be asking is; If you were BioWare would you want to take over a major piece of the most profitable entertainment  franchise the world has ever known...STARWARS?

The Starwars Universe has millions of dedicated fans around the world. We already know that a Starwars MMORPG can work well...very well! Pre-CU numbers do not lie and BioWare Corp. has had great success with Lucas Arts ( KOTOR game of the year) in the past.

BioWare Corp. is the perfect company to restore SWG to it's former glory! I hope this will happen, but I do know it's a very long shot to say the least.

The Question is not WHY?...it's.... "WHY NOT?"

The NGE united us.  80% hated the CU and what was left of their player base SOE made the NGE and pissed off 90% of its remaining base.

I have no hope for this game.  I loved this game from day 1, and all these rumors are just that, Rumors.  Sony has 10x more money than BioWare and frankly LucasArts is like any other evil Corporation in America.  it comes down to $$$ and as long as people still play this game, the longer if anything is going to happen will happen.

Stop dreaming and move on to City of Heroes or WoW
