The BioWare staff are keeping really tight lipped in the forums but I did pull these two interesting tidbits out of the 12 page disscussion: "And yes, my comments about focusing on existing BioWare intellectual properties were pre-MMO announcement. " "I never saw those. But they certainly must have been made BEFORE we announced a MMO. Once again, this means nothing (except that James is as valuable a source of info as Woo) as far as what our MMO may or may not be about."

If they did a SW MMO using the skill system built into KOTOR that could be very intriguing. Not keen that it's level based but it's a nice blend of level and skill that I could easily live with. And if it's KOTOR style and doesn't FORCE you to become a Jedi (hehe nice pun eh??) that would be even better. Like I said, we're just speculating... but I would speculate that if BioWare did a MMORPG Version of KOTOR with non-forced Jedi class... I would definitely play it. KOTOR kicked arse. |

Yeah most of what I've heard on forums from players say they'd like to see a SW MMO set in that time period since it's much more open then the SWG Timeframe (or lack there of if you look at what they add to it...) Again the devs haven't said anything regarding what the MMO they will be developing will cover but it's uplifting to know that there IS hope it's a SW based game. It also makes you wonder why they bothered to respond to the IP issue at all if it didn't have to do with the SW license. (The comments were in reply to people saying it wouldn't be a SW MMO because BioWare previously stated it wouldn't work on other peoples' IPs) ========== |
