The site says they'll reveal more later. This is great though. I bought SB when it came out, but didn't feel it was worth the monthly fee. However, you can't argue with free :) |

This is not a free trial. This is the whole game for free. I'll bet they will do something like Shattered Galaxy where non-payers will be at 50% XP rates or be capped at level 70. |

Freaking Awsome! I always wanted to play this game because of the hype I heard from the PVP but now I don't have to worry about any Fees!!! Downloading! Edit: I am just so excited...^_^ (just made an account and when I did "add subscrption, it did NOT ask for any credit card info and gave me free sub, yay...downloading the long arse client though now) Hi! SB has always been seen as a "pretender" to DAoC. AO still has the best ever PvP out of every mmorpg ever made. There are many reasons why - one of which is you can protect what you own even while you/your guild are offline. Classic SWG had the next best PvP, but alas, the game no longer exists. DAoC second best PvP, then EvE, then CoH. I have always been curious about SB though. It still made it to release. It still managed to somehow survive all these years, barely re-couping its investment money. It was never a bona-fid hit mmorpg though. Blame DAoC for nuking it. I'll check it out for free just to see if it has anything that makes it stand out from the glut of other mmorpgs saturationg the market.

If you can't get it, you aren't missing anything at all! Crappy graphics, dated gameplay, clunky controls, and its a ghost town. A free one that is better is AO or Anarchy online. It has good PvE and PvP, and its free.

I played this game back in the day, when it came out. Enjoyed it a lot actually. Main thing I remember is hunting with some friends and constantly checking out track to find assassins or whatever, forget what they are called. Anyways I might have to reinstall my game, just since its free. (Going anti-monthly fee for a while now). I actually just deleted the game from my computer last night, freeing up space. Ironic.
