All the change in the world to the SWG game wont help..I played SWG from beta, over 2 years in total, change is good in some ways, but the Nazi style tactics of sony wrecked this game, too many subscribers left, most of the euro servers are deserted and full of ghost town player cities. I really enjoyed swg and liked some of the changes, but what has killed the game now is the lack of players...Many nights i played and felt like i had the whole server to myself. The changes to combat didnt cause folks to leave, it was the changes to crafting.. 1000's left when crafting was nerfed.

What ruined SWG to me was the nerfing of crafters and entertainers. Also the reduction of professions from 36 to 9 and the switch from skill based to level based system. I really don't care much wether it's a FPS system or not when it comes to combat.

Ok, read your first sentence and tell me what is wrong there? Fun again? It should have never of stopped being fun and if they had actually decided their customers were more then lab-rats it would STILL be fun and the way it was. Either Pre-CU or Post-CU/Pre-NGE. I don't really care which but the NGE should of never happenned. It's irrelevant what happens or what they do to the game at this point. What they did to the community was unnacceptable and there is no going back. I am quite sure my feelings on that are shared by most the vets, especially the ones that played longer then me. - Fadeus

And his post is just a forum post. It's your fault for reading it. - Fadeus

I'm a first week vet. 9 professions will NEVER be fun. The most enjoyable part of SWG was setting up a template that fit your play style and was unique(ish). I was a first gen MBH (MMarks, MScout req) and it was great to see the mixture of support skills people picked up to match their playstyle. Yes the original game was involved and a bit complicated but that's what made it so great... there were so many factors to consider. The NGE insults me as a player and as a previous customer. I'd not stupid SOE, dont treat me like I am. ========== |

I would rather have a hose shoved up my ass. Although unpleasant, and not something I would care to repeat, at least having a hose put in my ass with the water turned on would have SOME sort of benefit to my well being. Take your single post account and put it where that hose belongs. |

I find it suspicious that you only have one post. Except for the blatent lies in the post, I would think you are an SOE or SWG employee. |

you know i love this game, but i dont see it comming from the slump its in. if they wanted to makes us happy just being back the old code, it worked. i dont understand why they thought they had to fixs it. all i see them doing is taking away from us players. bols are only 500xp when they were 5k each, now they took away the raodain camp, and killing wookies quests. im happy im cl90 as i dont see any one being able to get there now. what soe saw as expoilted was no more then the player useing what was there to use. if there is a starwars loving god, now is the time we need you the most

The closest thing to a God in the Star Wars Universe is the Force (unless you read Tales of Jabba's palace then a Magic 8-ball would suffice). So lets call upon the Force and everyone use their mind control techniques to get SOE to sell SWG to Bioware. |

Clearly this has been proven wrong by recent statements from Smedley himself. Fact is, the Execs are working harder to put spin on things than the devs are at fixing things. PreCU or kill the game. That is the only choice. |

Hi everyone, my first post here.
I played SWG for almost a year and almost from release date. The game was incredible, better than anything I had ever played before, and the immersion was sublime. It really felt, when I played it in the dark of my room, that I was running around on Tatooine or Corellia. When CU came about, the let down was so huge that I still feel today as if my heart was broken. I put almost a year into developing and nurturing my character to unlock FS. Then they just decided to change the game altogether to something that doesn't even resemble the original game. Fine, the game was unbalanced, there were indeed many things that were not quite fair in combat and so forth, but there was no need to change the game altogether. All they had to do, was tweak the modifiers and mutipliers in skills and profession and slowly approach a more balanced game experience. But they didn't. One day I had a TKM, with spinning roundhouse kicks, and multiple different brawling skills that would fill several skill bars, that I would strategically queue up, etc... and the next day.. I had.... a silly character that just stood there and did only one or 2 slow combat animations. Not just that, the target locking system is completely changed, I have to aim at my targets now as if it were an FPS... I mean, I have to aim my gun!?!?! it's not an FPS!! There were so many professions to try, it was a lot of fun to master one thing, then try another, or combine the best of mutiple professions, man, it was so versatile. Now your character is locked from birth in its profession.... I dunno, to do what they did just shows that they really didn't realize just how good of a game they had in their hands. I have been playing several other mmos since then, and sincerely, none has even come close to giving me a similar experience that I enjoyed in SWG. I just wish that they would realize that they had the right formulas, just not the righ values in them. It was a matter of small adjustments, not of grand overhauling. I mean, if u played the game back in the day, you certainly know what I mean. I logged in a few months back and there were no rangers (how much fun was that?), no creature handlers (talk about a fantastical profession!), and so forth. And what's with giving away jedis? This game was suppsoed to SIMULATE the world of star wars, no to be some cheap incarnation of jedi wannabes. If u want to play a jedi with no effort, take no offense, but you should be playing KOTOR and the games alike. In SWG, it should still be really hard to unlock jedi. In SWG, it should still be possible to be a master of exotic creature control. In SWG, it should still be possible to learn innumeral professions and skills. In SWG, it should still be possible to have tens of different crafting and combat and exploring skills, all at the same time. In SWG, it should still be possible to live in Star Wars. If you think the game is fun now, I believe you almost didn't try it in its original format. No additional content will fix this game. It's the gameplay and its versatility that have gone out the window. Just bring the game back, and stop trying to fix what wasn't broken. -virtual tourist |

This game is very very awesome! PvP was working well in front of my eyes, and then a storm came into town so I went into a building and no load screen! I could go on and on. How about landing on a station and actually being able to then walk around in it? And I thought EVE was good? CoH has got good combat but it has such repetitive missions but SWG is not repetitive at all. And by the complaining I thought the combat was going to be like NWN or something, but it is very much where you use a good amount of twitch skills like CoH. With a lot of games going the way of small cities and instanced missions thank goodness for SWG. And This Game world is what Online is all about for me, big and tactically explorable and SWG has got it. I am bad at writing my thoughts but man oh man this game rocks! I never could of had imagined how good this game is after reading forum posts about SWG on the web. I real hope to see every one back and having a great time again, this game could be still 10 time worse and still be better then most anything out. This MMORPG is truly Old School/New tech not New School/take the short cuts like in other so called MMORPG's where you in in one small little town. SWG has got it all! AWSOME, Good job! I also like the missions, they are good stories and feel natural and not repetitive. P.S. IMO Star Wars was alwase from the point of vew of the Jedi and the Jedi was not meant to be a character in the back ground. The Jedi was Meant to be a main character anyways. |

SWG was perfect the way it was when i joined:
- When a Jedi was seen he/she would be talked about for a long time, - The combat update didn't wreck the game too much but made it practically impossible to solo. The only way i would consider going back to SWG is if they went back to the good old days around the time i joined, this was my favorite game until SOE wrecked it. |
