It's obvious the development team is hard at work making this game fun again. With the next two publishes player bounties and penalty for death will be back, as well as new factional bases and the ability to track and attack your bounty in space. The game is getting back to it's "hardcore" state, as it was pre-nge and pre-cu, minus the elusiveness of becomming a Jedi now. There are rumors of capital ships like star destroyers being added soon for guilds to own, and for players to actually dock with and do stuff inside. Although hit hard by the Nov. 15th update, things are getting much better for SWG and those players that left should really consider coming back.

The game is not at all fun regardless of these changes, still 9 professions, still lvl based, still screwed up and dumbed down armor crafting and crafting in general, still a loot based economy, servers still empty, game run by the same bunch of A holes who shafted the vets in the first place, game still a wanna be FPS. Theres alot more that could be mentioned but i can't be bothered.

Indeed. The Gameplay is so horrid, no amount of content changes can fix it. The UI is so cumbersome, no amount content changes can fix it.

The fundamental flaws in SWG revolve around the very core of the NGE and the hatchet job it did to SWG. If SOE had listened to players in the first 2 weeks, and worked to make critical adjustments to the NGE's horrid flaws, I might have considered comming back to the game, but after this long, and being flat out ignored by SOE...

I wouldn't come back unless SOE was out of the picture... Period.

lol too funny. Let me word this in a nother way to help you see what happens.

You are a purchaser of pants for 20 years. One day a new fashion trend started by the French (not a slam on the french i swear just an example) where now no pants have buttons or zippers. The devolpers/fashion designers say... We think this will take wearing pants to a whole new level. Well as it turns out nearly no one likes the new "trend" so the fashion designer deciedes to put back in buttons but no zippers as zippers are NOT iconic to wearing pants... and we all know the fashion designers know whats best for us pants wearers...

See what I am getting at? It was fun before the NGE hit... and now to make the NGE "fun" again they are adding everything they took away. To me this is their way of saying "ooppsss sorry subscribers, if we had REALLY listened to you in the first place this wouldnt have happened, if we had worked with you in putting out the NGE it would have been much better..."

The funny thing is to me is that they (SWG's devolpers) have actually said that they made a mistake in how they published NGE without actually telling any of their customers. Now that they are adding what was loved back into the game pronounces this better than ever.

SOE and SWG is a lot like the weather in Wisconsin... if you don't currently like the game... dont worry it will change!

If I weren't so lazy, I'd keep track of the posters with 1-day-old accounts who write how the game has improved, and how people should come back and see. I'd also see if those people wrote anything else later, or just faded into the background.

If I weren't lazy, I'd note other young accounts trolling legitimate discussions of the game, then fading. Then I could determine if someone's trying to characterize detractors as a vocal, illiterate minority.

But... I'm lazy. And I'm also aware of the irony (being a new account meself)

swg will only be good once LA come in and take out NGE and go back to the pre-cu. if i want fps combat i go play battlefield 2 or counter-strike 2 games that are better then swg with nge will ever be. swg is a dieing game swg have about 5k players now and that will drop to 2k players by may. soe is dieing as well, eq2 is losing players left and right 2 WoW planetside sux eq1 is old and no one play matrix online.

soe will most likely be dead by end of the year with eq being sold 2 ea.

When the Pre-CU comes back then the game will be good again. Till then it sucks, cuz the NGE sucks and everyone who likes it sucks too.

It is true that SWG at the moment is becoming more active and more populated again. That has nothing to do with "SOE employees" spamming this website with pro-SWG posts. It just the way you can observe it in game atm.

Either because its the influx of Japanese players or people becoming bored with Game X or Y and moving back to SWG. The usual half life of the typical WoW player that has switched just after NGE is ending just about now ... that might explain a lot.

Nothing less than a roll-back to preNGE, fixing the quest bugs, then moving forward will be acceptable.

SOE and LA are not in a bargining position with me and others. We were force to do it their way, now they must do it our way. Otherwise, I support a complete shutdown of the SWG.

First of all, no, it will never revert back and it will always be a spoof of Planetside and WoW. Old dogs don't learn new tricks, especially after kicking the bucket like that.

I dont care, its still not Swg anymore, Swg was uniqe and its no longer.

They can do alot of improvments if they whant players to come back, and i whonder why they dont...
