Ok every mmorpg has this long description of being able to be the "Mercenary/Assassin" that works alone as a rogue agent etc... but now 1 mmorpg has implemented a good system for that, and this is what i was thinking of... Picture your a Lone FreeLance Assassin with your bow. You go to Clan A who is invading the Town of Clan B. They Hire you to knock out one of the head leaders or a key target at Clan B's town. This way When the Assassin makes the kill with hes good bow skill or by sneaking up and killing him, he has independtly declared war on Clan B, so that Clan A doesn't take the blame and can then come in with a sneak assault after this "important" Target is killed. Also i feel that one of the things which really pissed me of in a game like WOW was you raid a town and kill the people and then the can respawn right after by getting there body back and bam into the fight. I suggest a way to make it so that if your dead then you cannot re-enter the battle unless you come back to life b/c of a healer. So no spirit healer or getting your body back type of deal when in a Town raid or something im sure you can think of something more creative but thats just something which came to mind |

Well a system where if you were never resed you would have to reroll would not go well with most people. And shooting down their guild leader in a safe area wont do much good since he will indeed just res and his men will give him his gear back. But if you and a party of assassins would attack and kill their leader outsidet the city you can strip him of any superior weapons or armor.
As to in larger battles people will not be able to just respawn and join the fight since they will lose all their gear. Also you will respawn in your home city not at some graveyard 200 meters away. So unless your really close to your home city and have a supply of gear (most will however) they will not be able to join the fight anew like in WoW. So really what you are talking about is already in place in DFO today. |
