WoW folks don't NEED to defend it. It has millions of players. EvE doesn't.

Besides, we're all playing WoW not inflating rankings on mmorp.com =)

Big deal, there are more people browsing this forum that lived in my home town, your point?

You guys can try and defend the puny 23k players online on "one world" but the fact remains it's a minority of the mmo players. Once you realize that you can stop trying to make everyone else think it's as big as WoW or even EQ2.

I bet WoW has more players online than a LARGE city, not some hick town.

But to try and get this crap back on topic. EvE even in the listing of "reader choice" awards when there are millions more WoW players just proves that these "awards" is bogus or inflated by one set of gamers coming here and voting. I guess thats ok though since it's just "readers choice for mmorpg.com". Guess next time we should just post the URL to vote on the WoW/EQ2 forums and watch the EvE guys weep.

with a average age of 16-17.... yes. The most 'youngsters' play this game, because of the design and marketing of it. Your arguments are childish, and u'd be normally not worth the effort to type any reply for you - but well... somehow i couldnt resist :P
Get back to ur 'so ubzah leet zerging' - game, make some lvl grind get ur items and leave us alone :P EvE is not ur world, you lack in age - and in experience.
And regarding on your playtime, you don't have to earn your own money and play at mom's basement :)
U#re so not worth it, you won't know hrhr

Quit being dense. There is no other game- not one! Where all the players are in the SAME UNIVERSE. Sure, several million people play WoW. But not in the same game world- they're all on separate servers! In eve, you can meet everyone. Makes for a bigger online community.

As for puny- as has already been mentioned, eve is close to entering the top 500 supercomputers list. Where's wow? Not even close. No supercomputers there. Puny.

I've played wow a bit- it was more fun at the start, but just got boring. I'm still playing eve after 6 months. They both have their good and bad points, but eve is better.

(And I think we've found at least one of the WoW fanbois )::::02::

Time...if you don''t master it, it will master you.

I know i'm late in posting this, but EVE Online is a great game, better by far than any other MMO i've played.

Congratulations CCP, and keep up the good work, your game is the best, also your company :}

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned in the last 14 pages, but on the Eve Online website they specifically told their players about these awards and asked them to vote.

That would be the most obvious reason why Eve Online claimed the awards. If WoW, EQ2 or L2 officially told their players about the awards and asked them to vote, they probably would have won too. They probably just didn't care as much.

Not to take anything away from Eve, but it has quite the small subscription base compared to other mmorpgs for the simple reason most don't care to play it. Why? Because most don't think its a game worth buying. Thats not stab at Eve, just a point of fact.

Oh well, the awards probably meant he most to Eve Online so props to them.

sarcasm allows you to avoid telling people what you really think of them

Flush these results down the crapper...total garbage and rigged!

Plus...weren't the "awards" supposed to be for THIS YEAR!!!

EVE DOESN'T EVEN QUALIFY!   But then neither does WoW, EQ2 or nearly anything in the nominations for that matter...as 2005 SUCKED for MMOs, except for GW...which was excellent, but noone thinks that's a MMORPG.

And as for EVE's graphics...hahahahaha...I could put a solar system poster on my wall track a model spaceship in front of it and take a video, and that'd equal the technical standard of EVE's graphics.  Let's see something with ACTUAL polygons and textures win graphics...but NAAH!  OMG, and Ryzom for STORY???  what the...??  Ryzom is one of the BIGGEST grind-festing non-story MMOs out there...

(Just my opinion...no flames required...congrats to EVE and CCP on the "wins")

There is the techincal possibilities and then there is what you do with them. There is so much more to graphics than polygon count. I have not played EQ2 so I can not comment on it directly, the screenshots look ok but to me it feels like it's missing the most important aspect to graphics "feeling".

Feeling of imersing you in the world. Eve got that feeling.
