I like the way that Blizzard explains about the multiple ways they are going implement questing to make it rewarding for the player.

1) I like the idea of how symbols will appear above heads to show the npc has a quest and if you high enough to recieve it.

2) I like the color coding in quest log to show the difficulty of it.

3) I  like that there will be different rewards available for completing the quest and will have ability to choose the one that is wanted.

4) I like the idea of the quest giving option to continue to a new part or stop for some of the multiple part quests.

5) I like the way they say some ppl just need a quick hand because they are too busy.  This makes me think that quickie quest will be there for making the money if need be.

6) I think this is the best quest process I have read for any games yet. I believe that there will be some that change every so often and some that will stay static. I do believe that Blizzard will actually keep things fresh and offer actually stories to go with the reason to do the quests.

Does anyone else have any insight for what the WoW quest system will do for other games? Does anyone think that if Blizzard does live up to what they seem to accomplish with their other games that other MMOs will have to follow to keep up?

Speculating on the future of the industry based on the speculated content of a game that is not released is dangerous.  The ideas sound great, but let's see how they pan out before we get ahead of ourselves and forecast the future of MMOG.

Features have a nasty way of either disappearing at launch or being bastardized beyond the hint of promise.  Just the cold, hard reality of game development on any scale, let alone the massive scale of MMOG.

I understand what you are saying. I have seen this started to a degree in other games already. I remember my surprise the first time in DAoC I was offered different items for completing a quest. I am asking for what ppl think if Blizzard does do this with questing. The main thing I like is the symbols above ppls heads.
