Handbooks can go for $20 to $30.

the general campaign setting for Eberron is a good $40. and then there's a bunch of books for all the major cities that go for, im guessing, $30 each.

Overall, its really expensive being the DM.

Black Gorath Bris''Elfes

Just go to the SRD pages on Wizards internet site, you can download each 3 core rulebooks + some others absolutely free

and you don't need anythings else ... if you have imagination, you won't bother buying all those          '' complete books of lack of imagination ''

no need for stupid campaign books, town books, races books, class books...

A Rod of Silence means never having to say sorry. -- Dork Tower

What you'll need/get:

rule books ~ $30 each and you'll need Player's Handbook, DM Guide and Monster Manual.  Or you can download stuff for free or cheap from different resource sites, but some like to have the tangible books inhand <shrugs>

an imagination chock full o' dragons and dungeons and treasure oh my! ~ priceless

one pre-rolled, opinionated player (see above) ~ comes free with every campaign
