IMO, we have to have a fairly harsh death penalty so people will avoid dying. Look at WoW where death means pritty much nothing. No one is afraid of it, no one cares, and in PvP people just do stupid things because they know if they will get killed it is alright. Death doesnt take away your skill level so that is no big deal. Geneal EXP is easy to earn back, although I would agree that 20% exp hit is a bit too harsh; but I can deal with that as long as you cant loose a level to death.

the classes look very weak and limited and my opinion is that skilling would evolve your class (see EVE or Entropia). Thus if you have a racial bonus on some skills, also some class bonuses, you can still skill up other skills outside the parameters of your class i.e. everything!

Maybe this is what they are doing in which case this could be a gr8 game...although I think my money is on Age Of Conan for 2006

They banned all non Phil IPs from open beta Fenrir767. There is always Proxy but it is just too much of a bother.

It will not be more then L2, i bet on that. Tho no official info about it out atm.
For the castle siege stuff. There will be GvG (GuildvsGuild)in one of the future Giga updates.
I already saw a GvG video, so it cant be that far away.
And i think i saw something about buildings too (something similar like castles).
It will come with time but not ingame yet.
Atm, win the chip war and own the mine for a good 8 hours (then its war again) is the only siege like thingy ingame i think.

3 fraction`s it is something fresh in mmo. Fantasy + sci-fi it is not fresh, but imo very nice.

This sounds like a wonderful game.  I was hoping for more crafting though.  Well the hybird classes should be a nice touch.  In the interview he mentions that he started in SWG.  Maybe that type crafting system will be implemented, with different quality resources, mining machines and experimentation.  This would top off this game nicely, and give even more diversity.

I didnt played SWG but what you describe there will be in RFO most likely. Higher crafters are essential for supporting the players like Zzeno already mentioned in the Interview.

As long as SOE is never allowed within 50 miles of the RF online offices im game to give this one a whirl and get back into the swing of things now that im homeless...*cough SWG  cough*

yet it makes it the main enjoyment for every1 as well
