I think DnL devs have worked many bored mmo'ers (like me) into a frenzy with a generic "November" release date, so I think the community already had the torches and pitchforks waiting for you on this one. |

Who cares? You guys from mmorpg.com ( sponsored by IGE ) should think about what your readers are actually interested in and not make a big deal about such ... "Codemasters", the company, that canceled the promising "Dragon Empires" because they found out too late, that it's middleware wasn't sufficient for a MMOG ( which could probably happen to everyone of us... ) and who are now going to publish a major Asian "Vaporware RF Online" game, are going to bring D&D Onlne to Good Old Europe... WoW, jump around, jump, jump... Codemasters play a <<< minor ( no ) role in the MMOG business, so who cares ? |

Were you trying to get somewhere saying "sponsored by IGE". I would sponsor them too if I didn't want my members to pay. -In memory of Laura "Taera" Genender. Passed away on Aug/13/08- |

I absolutely can't agree with IGE/SOE-like item sale-practices and IGE is in MMORPG.com's banner-rotation which I think is ridiculous and destructive for the MMOG-genre but sure, it's a matter of opinion... And please don't make me laugh, who would pay for a MMOG-info site ? kthxbye |

*giggles maddly*
Reading your reaction guys is priceless. I am literally ROFL.
Yeah I am a NA as well and I cant care less what they do over there, unless I can tease the Frenchs of the Brits with it!
Good Job Lepi, don't stop because a few person bitch. Some folks bitch first, think later!
Yes, I was disappointed with the news, but well, I can't blame Lepi. It is a "big news", there is no arguing there. It is not what I want, but it is a big new.
Gratz to the fellow who deliver the DDO or /comfort to those who didnt get it.

CodeMasters seems to be starting a "middle man" kind of trend in the industry. Besides that point, and the fact that CM isn't worthy to be on the same planet as Turbine, much less work with their product, it's nothing big. ..................................... ...but time flows like a river... ...and history repeats... -Leader of "The Fighting Irish" in DAoC on Hib/Kay- |

Do you understand what it means to everyone in Europe? CM will impact a LOT of things for them, and this site gives the info first.
Now if you are unhappy and rather know something about the longsword +5 Vorpal and how to get it, you are like me, a children looking for ingame info. Nothing bad, but please, don't trash major information.
When they announced that SoE was going to handle their other game and handle the CS, would you say it was a small news? No, it was a Flame trend on the site, peoples were crying out to devil. Because it happens not in NA and because folks hardly know CM doesnt means it is a small news.
Thank you for showing your ignorance and been pretty rude about it. I remember the trend when AC was handled to SoE (or was it another game) for retailing. This is the same type of news, and now, suddenly, because it is not SoE and not in NA it is suddenly a small news?
I still say good job on Lepi, maybe you need to make a more serious section away from the kids who will flame anything that is not related with the ingame information. Yes my inner children want to throw rocks at you Lepi, but you did just fine, it is a Big News...of course it doesnt affect me as a player in Canada, but it is still a big news. Maybe SoE = bigger news than CM for the same stuff however. - "If I understand you well, you are telling me until next time. Ok it might not be BIG news but its GOOD news! I have had a very high opinion of Codemasters ever since falling in love with Operation Flashpoint and the series it spawned. Easily the most underated computer games of all time. Good luck to the team at CM. I look forward to DD EU since I dont seem to be able to get into any of the US pre-orders anymore... +-+-+-+-+-+ |

Blimey, didn't expect the hype machine to go this far out of control. It's a shame I'm not feeling the love from a number of members here but to the rest of you positive guys, thank you :) I'm sure Satine will be on later to give you a good spanking. *And in a poof of smoke, Satine appeared...* Hi everyone! I watched this thread in amazement over the weekend and thought I'd let you all get it out of your system and see the overall reaction before commenting. Thanks to all of you for all your reactions - positive or negative. Some reaction is better than no reaction ;) Whilst it may not be big news to some of you, particularly people in North America, it IS big news to the Europeans as with several other companies, the poor European gamers are either forgotten about, or given a sub-standard treatment because, well who knows? They still pay full-price and they are as passionate about games as many Americans. From my perspective as a European gamer, I think this is excellent news. Not only will the Europeans get the same level of treatment and service as the Americans, they will get it at the same time. They won't get a six month-later release and they won't get forced to play in English. As a DDO fan, this to me, is great news! From my perspective as a Codemasters employee this is sweet, sweet news. Now I get to be part of a superb and very exciting game. Not only do I get to play this game as part of my job, but I also get to spend all day talking about this game with the community and my friends. From my perspective as a member of the Codemasters Online Gaming team, this of course is wonderful news. Within the last month or two we've announced two huge titles and we are going to take the MMO world by storm. For any company just one of these titles would be a scoop, we have two! All in all, shame on those of you who are so selfish as to not care whether your fellow gamers, guildies and community colleagues aren't serviced properly, if at all. If roles were reversed you'd soon speak up. Anyhow, here's to the future and to DDO! The press release goes out today and our new forums open too! Be sure to stop by and say hello :) Satine. |

You are just doing the PR thing but as in politics so too gaming spin as very passe. NOW if you had said we are taking online gaming to the next level by bringing back role playing then my ears (and maybe something else) would prick up. Role playing in games...it is what a computer is made for. All i ask is for one arena that is randomly generated using the original D&D rules...and do not insult me by saying you do not know what i mean. OK just in case you are unfamiliar with the DM concept...here goes...the DM (computer in your game build) will elect from a series of tables to create a unique map..to illustrate a= swamp b=desert c grassland d = mountains you abcd all the squares on map and in those squares you abcd the loot the monster etc etc...the purpose of this to have a randomly generated map to sustain the human need for the unexpected...if it worked for 30 years with dice then you can damn well do it with the modern pc... so come back with this news and then you will have every ones attention..If not my genius is wasted on you ants. |

If the game and all of it's expansions will always be released at the same time everywhere in the world and if the localisation is of superb quality, then this is good news for European "D&D Online"-Fans. We will see... Adel: What is "Alchemic Dream"s role here or are they only involved in the "RF Online"-thing? |
