The long Labor Day weekend was a great one for developers and players of EVE Online alike. On Monday at 20:13 GMT, they had a total of 14,418 players online. Impressive numbers that break the game's previous Concurrent Users record. In fact, the last reported PCU record was on August 21st and consisted of 13.933 players, about 500 fewer than Monday's total.

This crew cracks me up...all they can do is glorify thier numbers online for a specific weekend, but after having played the game for a year,it is absolutely going NO WHERE.Thier updates are sluggish and spouted as introducing tons of content, but in reality they produce maybe a couple more ships and call it a masterpiece.I predict, yuo'll see this game implode within the next year.Keep pumpin those numbers up EVE,us players know you guys are high on icelandic crack...

LMAO, thought I was the only one that noticed this. 14.4K  ACCOUNTS, probably 9K actual people. Pretty damn anti-American community also.

In the end accounts count, since that's the cash that keeps the game alive. About your anti-american feelings - well, I never witnessed any incident or heard from americans they were "verbally mistreaded" because of their origins, so "pretty damn anti-american" is certainly off.

@ claith: your comment makes me assume that you are the one on crack - or we are playing EVE on different servers (which I highly doubt).

ROFL, finally a niche game is succeeding and getting the praise it deserves, and then these guys have to come along and flame.

Also I loved the one post about how the game will go down within a year, that cracked me up. If there was ever an idiotic statement, that was it.

I guess for these first posters its safe to say if its not WoW or another huge MMO, then its nothing.

Eve Online is one of the most involved and dynamic MMO's out there. The in game politics is awesome. It's just a slow paced game and like all MMO's you need to invest a lot of time to get the most out of it. Oh Eve online subscription base has been steadily rising. Should be about 60k now. Check out mmorpg subscription figures for more details.

There are only 10 types of programmers. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

I guess you didnt play or only just mined in yulai, because you have no clue what you are talking about. Within year they have added new skills, ships and modules, POSes, Outposts, added comlexes and cosmos. Lot more, but these are what could remember now.

POSes and Outposts are like player housing and would be major addition to any mmorpg. Most of stuff they have add are for groups so little solo miner at yulai doesnt really benefit from these.
