1, Can you still do the crafting professions without doing the combat?
--> Sure you can. Plenty of customers too and the market is growing. If you want to get your own resources you have to be more careful on the adventure planets, but slow driving, liberal use of camo kits and the right tactics (or a little help from your friends in the guild) will get you what you need.
2, Any recommendations for servers and guilds? I bought the game ages ago but i gave it to my friend and i expect most of the people i gamed with have quit since the CU so i need a good server and guild :).
--> Well, you MIGHT be surprised. My guild (Yazuka Crime Syndicate) is 2 years old and has about 110 members. You are very much invited to join us on Naritus and you will find many of the forum users here to have their characters there. But there are many other posters here that will gladly help you get started on other servers.
3, What is planned for future content in SWG? The website didn't really give much away.
--> well, if you can believe them :-) they will concentrate on bug fixes and balancing for the next three publishes. And thats a good idea. Creature handler changes are already on the test center (they steal from WoW hunters and if they steal well - and it looks like that - then its a good change). They more or less showed the people at the fanfest some kind of player controlled capital ships (star destroyer) - although so far only with a limited amount of options (more like a special quest with a few limited options, NOT free flight with capitol ships). I STILL believe they will introduce true smuggling missions for smugglers sometimes in the next 10 years (yes, I AM positively crazy. Yes, I AM a hopeless optimist. Yes, I am STILL a smuggler - did I not already mentioned that I am crazy ?!). Beyond that - only rumours ... War in Space, Geonosis, Raid "dungeons", a third Hutt faction (best bet for the third expansion).
