Why don't you just do MBH, MRifles, Combat Medic for heals? That would seem better to me, but I don't know. |

He's doing that template for max damage and added accuracy. He's trying to kill the jedi without being discovered. Personally I never make a template without some medic in it simply because I solo frequently due to the fact that I don't always have enough time to play to justify joining a group. So I need to be more self sufficient than most. Now you see why I say there's no 1 "right" template :) It just depends on your style and what you enjoy doing. I made my template primarily for hunting solo because I don't always have a lot of time to play so I just go solo. |

I want to be able to sneak up on a jedi without being discovered and see if I can kill them that way before he even knows what's going on. But if in any case that the jedi DOES see me and comes after me, I want to be able to hold my own and start pounding him with my carbine I guess and at the same time be able to heal myself some if he starts slicing me with his saber OR does his jedi powers on me. I've used the character builder to try some different templates and so far the only one that I can get with enough points is: MBH, MC, Pistols 0001, Medic 0220 - This template looks like the best one in order to get that stopping shot from Pistols 0001. But I don't know how I would be able to try to kill the jedi without him noticing me with this template. There was this other template that I configured but I dont know how well it would do: MBH, MC, Rifles 4000 (for Improved Sniper Shot), Medic 0100 and that leaves me with NO points left and barely any medical ability to heal myself at all. Just enough for 1 bacta shot. Also this gives me NO pistols so I couldn't use stopping shot. So intuitively, I would HAVE to practically kill the jedi using improved sniper shot and then switching to carbine and immediately pound him with KD and then carbine fire to finish him off before he can get a heal off. Don't know how realistic that would be. You ask what would be fun for me? To sneak up on a jedi, and try to kill him with a few shots or as quickly as possible before he has a chance to recover. However if he does recover from the alpha attack, be able to hold my own with my carbine to kill him later in the battle. Your thoughts? Joe |

i'm of the school of p1ss em off until they make a mistake. as a smuggler/pistoleer, i try to outlast them. using my roots and daze's to give me opportunities to heal and frustrate them as they sit there helpless. i've only dueled a few jedi, mostly in GCW situations. i'm not the best, but i've won my share of battles. ******************************** |

:) If you're going to go with a rifleman / BH template I'd either forego stopping shot (you CAN get by without it) or only get 0001 for the basic one. Matter of fact MBH / MRIFLES / CM 4000 may be an excellent template for you considering what you've said. Stopping shot isn't absolutely necessary, especially if you're trying to kill at range. the CM ability just gives you the ability to fight back if they do manage to close. (By the way, that one is the FOTM, Flavor of the Moment, template currently) |

I think it's pretty amazing that just because you want stopping shot (1 skill!), that you suffer in the medical department. LOL. I don't know. I'll probably just have to try a few templates once I get MBH and see which I like instead of trying to figure all this out while I'm still a newbie. :) Do you recommend I get MCarbineer first before I even start training BH? Startle and Disarming shots are being used effectively against Jedi right now. RE: Do you recommend I get MCarbineer first before I even start training BH? Yes, 3 1/2 reasons. 1. Master Carbines at least gives you some melee bonuses. If a jedi gets in close to you as a rifleman, you're toast. 2. You have close-range knockdown capability with carbines, and from what I've seen, jedi are very susceptible to being knocked down for some reason. you can only do it about twice a fight per target though. 3. You can get a proton carbine, one of the most effective weapons in the game, and dish out some major damage while grinding out your combat xp for BH. 3 1/2 if you're a wookiee, you can use a high-damage bowcaster as a carbine weapon and use all the carbine skills effectively, the system doesn't seem to know the difference. Yes, master your weapon before training BH, you'll be glad you did. As to which template? Almost any BH template is useful in PVE and PVP. As to having to sacrifice in specialization in order to diversify more? I like it. It makes you have to think about your template and determine what works best for you. If you could just master anything you wanted we'd all be the same. |
