ok... so I can't disclose the project this poll is going towards, BUT I promise that mmorpg.com will be the first to hear about end of 4th quarter

In fact, feck it - just ban the whole Fantasy genre. There's far too many already.

I chose other simply because there are three diffrent things I'de like to play in an mmo

1. Gargoyle type creature. No game has one yet and, if done right, they can be really cool to play.

2. A zombie/undead creature (not vamp) sorta like G. Ramero type creature, not really take hit point dmg unless shot in the head.

3. Vampire....I have not seen one system that let's you play one, and also can be fun if done right.......ARE YOU LISTENING WHITE WOLF ???? We neeed a WOD MMO

 monster no rules applied( i hope )  plus it would make it a lot more interesting

I just chose monster because it hasn't been done that much.

I have always had the idea that games should let you be a progressing and contributing character if you are interested in that sort of thing, but if you are just a mindless basher/PKer then why not let you play an Orc or Troll or somesuch and then your mindless bashing and PKing would make SENSE in the game world.

something not found in any of the works of JRR Tolkien or AD&D.  Many games -- especially the played out fantasy genre -- are nearly devoid of any creativity.  The vast majority of high-fantasy games are clones of AD&D which itself is little more than the game version of Tolkien's work.

Come up with something new people.  Mountain Elves or Blue Elves or Wood Elves are still just Elves!  Throw your AD&D monster manual and LOTR away and start from scratch.  I'm sure someone can come up with something new and interesting.

my basic felling tells me if you wouldn't find the new race attractive in RL
then most people will not want to play them

just make ever race look diff give them there own building designs/ cloths

I chose other. I might have been better off choosing monster, but it seemed you were thinking more along the line of ogres, orcs, trolls etc... Personally, my favourite race ever in an MMORPG was the dragons in Horizions (even though the game sucked). I mean, a player as a dragon? And you can fly and breathe fire? What's not to like? Personally, I think there should be more completely non-humanoid races in MMORPGs. I'm still waiting for someone to do Velocira
