The Rec site supplies a link on the Advancement/Orbits page to a Focus Template, which is the Foci page. I'm kind of curious what focus points would contribute to what focus...the template page doesn't really have a template. We know GateKeepers are Willpower, DreamSeers are Insight, SoulMasters are Resilience, and FateSenders are Lucidity, but what about the others? Advocates, Dreamsmiths, Kabalists, and Scholars?

I can imagine they are somewhere imbetween; maybe a Kabalist's talisman powers (or whatever since they're not into arts) would require both Willpower and Insight somewhat evenly improved since GateKeepers and DreamSeers are the two more talisman oriented foci, and Scholar's arts would require both Insight and Lucidity? For instance, maybe a particular Kabalist 'skill' would require both Willpower and Insight to both be at least 25, or a Scholar art require both Lucidity and Insight to both be at least at another number of element points before being able to learn it.

Hopefully the four 'new' foci will have their own arts and abilities, and not just be a kind of split between the four 'old' foci. StrikesBrain's ideas all sound cool, and have obviously had lots of thought put into them.

Just from logic, I'm assuming the four new foci go something like this, but this is pure speculation...somebody please correct me if they know anything I don't:

Advocate - Willpower and Resilience ... has SM 'helping' characteristics and GK defensive trails
DreamSmith - Resilience and Lucidity ... SM's essence manipulation with FS effects embued into the forged talismans
Kabalist - Willpower and Insight ... Seer's talisman manipulation traits with GK talisman-depending defensive traits (also GK chakram bonus?)
Scholar - Insight and Lucidity ... cross of Seers, the original scholars persay, and FS's large assortment of arts

Then just speculating, let's say I had an orbit 50 character in the game. With each orbit, you get 2 new element points to distribute, so at orbit 50 I'd have had 100 points distributed. Also keeping in mind DreamSoul can only be Orbit+20, and the other four elements Orbit+10. For kicks, let's say it was distributed like this:

Orbit 50
Willpower 50 (+40)
Insight 20 (+10)
Resilience 10
Lucidity 10
DreamSoul 70 (+50)

This character would clearly be a GateKeeper based on the very high Willpower. But perhaps if my above post's speculation was correct, and Kabalists could learn a new talisman skill if both their Willpower and Insight was at least 20. And on top of that, DreamSeers maybe could learn Blast at 20 Insight. This character would be essentially be a GateKeeper, with Kabalist and DreamSeer as minor foci? What would you call it, an Insightful GateKeeper? Seems I'm going off on a tangent. :D

Lyra-stone said you could only have one template at a time.  There's a thread in these forums that discusses that topic, do a search for "focus element" and you'll dig it up.  Mind you it's a funky thing this focus art.

Now, keeping this in mind, if you were able to change your focus you'd downgrade your key elemental most likely, if you didn't it'd make you uber, since you'd keep all those arts and art levels keyed to that high element.  If you lose the element, you'd have the messy business of downgrading a load of arts and art levels and your inventory becomming useless.

If it was in the hands of a "guild" then it'd be potentially messy insomuch that if it grew biased you could suddenly see all freesoul houses devoid of GK's.
