Thee are tons of dungeons in Cyro also ;)
Our guild was camping the inside entrance and it was hilarious !

Also sneaking around to disrupt players running to front line is quite nice to do, you get alot of 1v1 or 1v2 that way.

but in the other zones pvp has no place..... public dungeons would be camped by higher level players and you cannot do anything.

I realy like the way Zenimax has taken this path.

If it's camped, then you petition people of your faction to help.  Part of the game. It is a MMORPG after all.

Not the game for you.

You do realize people choose to join pvp servers with their free will and those "victims" are also gankers to some other players right?

its like saying boxers are bullies who like to attack innocent people

I'll say it in another way.

I do not enjoy running around inside a battleground trying to find people who do not want to take part in the castle camping zerg.

I want to do pve and be a victim, to a attacker, i want to be a little cautious when dealing with people.

Then stop buying themepark games.

Am I right?

Only difference between PvP server and Cyrodiil is that in Cyrodiil, you have more competition and more well geared players who went out there ready for PvP.  If you're a PvP enthusiast, you should embrace Cyrodiil...unless you're someone who specifically likes to gank people while they PvE.

Meh, bullshit. Just because someone is in Cyrodill doesn't mean they wear best in slot gear and are prepared to fight 100% of the time. In every MMO with pvp I've played I've always engaged other players with lower gear. Its actually where a game shines. If somebody 1-2 shots me then the game's balance is shit and will require you to run on the gear treadmill. If the fight is long and I see the skill of my opponent then the game is probably worth it.

Also with the megaserver and all I think TESO having a PvP-ON server is close to impossible, unless they have separate "megaserver"

Sounds like you want Mortal Online. ESO cant have a pvp server due to the MEGASERVER for NA and EU meanign there is a ONE "server" for each

This.  The problem isn't a game that doesn't cater to the OWPvP person, the problem is (yet again), the OWPvP person who buys the game that doesn't cater to the OWPvP person who then gets on the internet to complain about it.

**

It could just as easily be the PvE player who buys the OWPvP game, but that just doesn't happen all that often.

**

This could be summed up with, "Stop buying games that don't do what you want them to do."

For every large, complex problem, there is a simple, clear solution that also happens to be absolutely wrong.

Pve gets boring without it, and the battleground Cyrodiil probably works for people who like to work as a team, its not really something me, a solo/duo/trio player can get into. Most of the time we have ended up looking for other soloplayers to gank, and none of us consider that fun.

You got the point?

I don't see the difference, at least from what you offered.

You don't find ganking solo players fun but how does that differentiate from a pvp server?

Cyrodiil is exactly like it's own pvp server.

I dont want to fight, i want to be attacked while doing pve.

What you want isn't what most people want though.

Im a Ganker.

Now hate me.

Now listen what we did in Face of Mankind, where you have to charge your ability to respawn and not actually die.

If your char is death in FoM, its death and done. Reroll then :)

Then there was this poor Vortex player and we knew he only had this one life left.

We made him pull of his clothes and totally being the clown for our entertainment.

We killed him anyways.

I would do the same again, propably with anyone i meet in games, in PvP games :)

Aww the joys ..

I wish the game had true open-world PVP options especially since the "mega-server" is just a bunch of little servers anyways.  Could have easily had two separate servers and let people play where they wish.  Regardless of what the haters may say, some people just genuinely like the thrill of that added element of danger.  The fact that you can't even ask someone for a duel is disturbing to me.  ESO just isn't the greatest game for PVPers who like variety in their chosen content.  This is why I just couldn't make the purchase, unfortunately, because I really wanted to like the game.  Great game for questing and story if you don't care about the PVP element in it though!

Well in the case of ESO i did not buy it, my friends bought it for me, they are trying to force me to play with them.  I want to play with them... its moment 22.

If there would be a option to "flag" for pvp on the mega server to be in a pvp instance I would be happy with that option.

I guess it wont happen, and your right I should just say NO to my friends and explain to them why ESO is not a game for me, they will probably think im selfish. that sucks too. So at the end of the day i will be playing eso for my friends sake, not for my own enjoyment and thats pretty sad.

Oh and to all of those posters here who recommend i play another game, thats not the point, i played all the other mmo's Shadowbane, Mortal Online, and so on, my favorite MMO's so far are: number 1: Ultima Online, number 2: WOW, number 3 TSW. Im looking forward to the wildstar PvP servers! BUT THATS BESIDES THE POINT! I want to play ESO, with my friends, to do that i guess im bound to get bored.. oh well.. peace out, I was hoping for a better explanation for not ahving a PvP server then , this is not the game for you move on and cant be done because of too much phasing.

I mean there are enough wow pvp server style players to fill a good chunk of that mega server if they would allow us to "flag" pvp.

The main thing people need to understand is, this isn't about forcing anyone to do anything or put up with anything they don't want to.  It's about having options.  As an avid PVPer, it's hard (for me personally) to look at ESO as a viable option based on it's single offering.  I totally sympathize with players that want to quest and be left alone.  Still doesn't mean some kind of option couldn't have been put into place for people who want more PVP action in their MMO, whether it be a separate server, a flagging option, etc.

You can play in Cyrodiil solo.  I've played solo, 4 player, and zerg style.  Solo and 4 player you're looking to disrupt and distract.  You go hang out in between keeps, stealthed (which anyone can do), then when 1-2 stragglers come running by, you kill them and vanish :)  It can be so annoying, I've had most of a keep's attacking force stop siege and  come looking for us lol.  This is one things I like about Cyrodiil.  A few can disrupt many others.  If you have 20+ people looking for 4 rogues, then the numbers should be in your side's favor :)  Teamwork will always trump the zerg in Cyrodiil.  I've defended a keep from a zerg with about 30 people.  I've taken a keep with that same group against a zerg.  It's all about tactics and teamwork.  I hope some day they will include wall climbing, one of my favorite things in DAoC was climbing up the walls on my Warrior, and scaring the poo out of some mage that thought himself to be safe :)

Yep and unfortunately these people 'won'. New games think if they can give us some crappy zerg PvP in a box that it fills the wants of the PvPer and it really doesn't. PvP should be a spontaneous and unpredictable event and should have some sort of consequences but so many people just can't handle that so it has largely died out. I can't fathom why they can't just flip PvP always on for one server like older games did, those people who don't like it don't play it and those that do get the game they want with almost no extra work for the devs. Heck they could even flag PvPers and have them not show up in the same instance as the PvE player.

When I see some random person out in the world I want to be wary of them until I get to know them. That doesn't really happen in the faction based PvP world, you know your enemy, you know they are going to attack you, there is no organic feel to the PvP at all, the two are completely different.

You are looking for an actual PvP game. This is not it. This is a carebear PvP game where the developers have carefully created the PvP experience and limited it to the way they want you to experience it in a controlled environment, going so far as to split the game into pieces and make sure each side looks differently so the player is duffused into thinking another player is a friendly, even though they broke that with their pre-order to get more people to buy it. /boggle

Cryodill is a big place full of PVE content for one to do if they want to take the chance and the zerg there is a choice not a requirement.  A PVP server would do nothing but split up players which is something Zenimax didn't want to do.  Really this is the closest PVP players have gotten to a open world PVP experience in a AAA theme park title in a decade yet still people are not happy or at least even a little appreciative of the efforts Zenimax made to build a compiling PVP environment within the constraints of a theme park game.

PVP servers have there issues as well you know?  They make the community pick and choose always on PVP or safe PVE leveling and result in split populations.

I compare Cryodiil to Alterec Valley x4, well not really but kinda, they are both instanced battlegrounds with pve quests in them. The way the game is set up now forces me to only play inside Cyrodiil from 10 to 50 avoiding pvp as much as possible and focus on the pve elements, building catapults and such and thats not really fun, just kinda crazy.

The fuk? Why would your friends think your selfish if it's not your playstyle? If you enjoy open world pvp with a change of getting attacked and fighting back, that's how you like it. Period.

You should not be playing a game you don't like because of your friends. I imagine there are other games you guys can play together, right? That's where you should team up and enjoy yourselves. ESO wasn't built with owpvp in mind, like GW2 and TSW.

I'm sorry if i'm jumping the conclusions, but if i was your friend, i wouldn't want you playing with me if you didn't like it. You also already seem to know about Wildstar's pvp servers. If they're interested in playing that game, ask them if you can wait for that one.
