The game is finally in a really good place and it's about to get even better in a few weeks. I'm glad they've turned it around. Now I just need to get my sleep pattern back on track cos this game is ruining my life.

so let me get this,

more then a year later, they come up with things that should have been in the game from the first place, and they want me to spend 40$ on it?

ok, il help you blizz, here is how you buy back people to come back to you.

1st. dont call it "reaper of souls", just call it d3 "rebirth", that way people can understand you have built it from the ground up again.

2. explain to the world the the game was shit, and you are sorry for that and understand it was shit. and in order to fix it, every one will get something around 40$ refund to use on blizz games/shop. (better yet give them a copy of wow and a few month subs=wow numbers goes up=win)

3.profit.

simple right?

That has to be the most idiotic post I have seen in my 49 years of reading / hearing idiotic things people say/post. Good job.

Rofl i just cant stop from laughing at how easily this company keeps fooling its game users.

This is just like the vanilla WoW to The Burning Crusade transition.

They ruined all the good challenging part of the game, silencing everyone with faster and more frequent drops. No more difficult tasks to perform at the end of which you'd feel a real sense of achievement, but senseless drops of this and that, soon to lose any value (everybody wearing the same things).

This D3 patch is the same sauce used with a different pasta! Another game, where they pull the same stunt and people are already foolishly praising Blizzard, because now they can easily defeat enemies and even get frequent rare loot.

Did you even notice how much they increased the dmg of the skills for all the existent classes?

     Please read them patch notes!

Should you really be contempt with a game that just got at this ridiculous level of easy?

It's clear that the Blizzard of the Diablo 2 era is long dead, things have changed, internally, too much for this company to offer anything decent anymore.

Have to agree. We decided to come back and check out the changes since we have heard how great the game is now. Starting fresh to experience everything all over again, we decided to try hard and it was to easy so we bumped it up to expert to give it a whirl. Well after a few hours and one play session we are halfway to level cap with nothing putting us in any danger. The legendaries are raining on us but they matter little since we level every few minutes and are able to craft gear now that is always the stat needed (as monk I always get dex/vit gear). We were going to save torment for when we cap out but it's looking like that level will be needed sooner than later otherwise I will find myself bored. If this is what's in store, I don't see any reason to declare the expansion with its one new class and adventure mode, a new way to play anything.

RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan and Paul Gray.

So a game should only be remotely challenging if you have reached the very end?  Nice logic.

erm.. you can start a brand new account on Expert with a level 1 character. You done that yet? See what I mean about people talking without knowing a thing about what they are saying?

and you can start new characters at level 1 on torment 6 once you have a top level character.

I never said a brand new account, I said a fresh start and if you assumed that I started a whole new account then I am not sure how logical you are.  I have a couple of 60's that aren't into paragon levels because I hadn't played since shortly after release. The only positive has been the game runs smoother for me but that has been it. Maybe you should read a little slower and THEN form a response.

Well, good job I made a mistake in the previous post and have edited it. But, what's your point? you already had torment unlocked and could have started on torment at level 1 for a challenge.

Start a new character, torment level 6.. and stop moaning. How on earth can you complain about the difficulty when your not playing the game on the highest difficulty?

Well that was exactly my point and exactly what I stated. We didn't know that expert would be as easy as it was nor did we know that the rate of exp would see us to level 31 after one session. I also stated that we were going to save torment for cap and it's looking like that isn't an option now due to difficulty being very low on expert so master may not be much of an increase.  Man some people are so defensive they can't read whats right in front of them.

Yeh, I can't read.. I'm really stupid. I also play a game that is all about finding loot at max level and complain about getting to max level, cos I'm 'really' stupid. I'd prefer it was the old way that forced me to repeat the whole campaign over and over again to reach the best part of the game... you know, cos I like the 'journey'.. nevermind that paragon levels are now infinite, I only care about level 60.

Hey man your words not mine. I agreed with another poster on difficulty and you felt the need to attack the both of us with retorts that didn't make sense and made a lot of assumptions. I don't agree with the article and I don't agree with the hype that is being stirred up with the title but seeing as how I have purchased 2 copies I felt like giving is a shot since there has been a lot of positive feed back and the expansion is right around the corner. The game was too short IMO the first time and now the leveling and pacing seems worse.

I also think they did a shoddy job of the randomness of areas which is a big part of why I found the end game grind not very fun. Adventure mode seems like it may improve this aspect but there is no way I am giving them more of my money for 1 class to play through the game again when it feels this bad going through it now. As for my difficulty comments, I was merely agreeing with the person I quoted.

Keep in mind, folks, that this is the precursor to Reaper of Souls. Believe me, Adventure Mode and Bounties, not to mention a level cap increase, will change what you think about things being "too easy".

The game before path had issues, blizzard have effectively listened to players and totally turned it around, and now the game is damn fun. Complaining about that is odd. The game offers a range of difficulties from easy to you will get owned, which is relevant from level 1 to max - that's is the perfect difficulty solution, and some people complain?

rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW (1000 hrs on main mage)> oblivion > LOTR (480 Hunter) > Rift (230 hours mage) > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(900 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3

i think this is a step in the right direction but does not fix the underlying issues. The game will be enjoyable for a few months at most and that is totally worth the price tag in my opinion.

the reason the game has such a huge drop off after a short time is they made itemization much like an mmo.  I think they are trying to fix as much as they can but the very core of the game is way to much like diablocraft and that's the biggest mistake they made.

im not saying it's bad, the game is incredibly enjoyable now but it'll suffer the same fate of being burned out rather quick.

The new loot system is great.

I almost never see a Strength/Dexterity item anymore whilst running around with the wizard.

Items I find are usually beneficial to the class I'm actively playing.

I can actually solo Act IV (torment 1) now, where before Normal mode was impossible.

The best part, I paid nothing extra for this content access.

The reason why we have a 10-year-old re-hashed game is because the big publishers don't want to produce anything original or different that might be a financial risk - in the minds of their directors and accountants.

Don't like third person games? Don't play them. First person is a design choice, not a result of progressing technology, and many genres lend themselves better to third person than first person without losing a modicom of immersion.

All of history is a lie. The truth depends on who does the listening, and who does the telling...

The problem isn't just the difficulty in and of itself for me. The problem is that the game seems easier after the changes and couple that with the speed of leveling to max now (I made it to 31 in 3 hours on a fresh monk and we are barely in act 2) and the lack of randomness to the world and it is hard to get psyched up to repeat the process after completing the story for loot grind. I can't speak on the hardest difficulty just yet because I haven't tried torment, but normal, hard, and expert have seemed pretty easy thus far so I know my comments are coming from my experiences with expert. Also the problem is that the difficulty criticism wasn't really a complaint, but it got blown up because of the white knighting. It really doesn't matter what difficulty the game is played on in all honesty because IMO the changes have made the overall gameplay easier due to the frequency of gear drops that actually match my class so I am never hurting. Also the crafting was simplified and streamlined and those also always give me my stats so gear has been made a non issue. The game is certainly more fun in ways than the last time we played it, but that doesn't mean that it's all roses and butterflies for everyone.

Loved Diablo 3 the whole time, and it's still great after this patch, it's even more challenging now and loot 2.0 is amazing. Even though I loved the game I stopped playing because of the crap gear drops and being forced into using the AH where you were constantly ripped-off. I'm done though, want to get back to playing.
