ArcheAge is on 20th place with under 30k people playing it.

What a disgustingly twisted method of presenting information. For someone with your username, you really ought to exercise more tact, not to count forthrightness. Here is a translation of the graphic above in English...

1. League of Legends

2. FIFA Online 3

3. Sudden Attack

4. Aion

5. Blade & Soul

6. StarCraft

7. Lineage

8. Dungeon Fighter

9. Eos (no idea what this one is...)

10. Warcraft 3 (most likely W3 DOTA)

...long story short, you present information taken from general nationwide PC usage (not internet cafes alone), in a foreign language on a predominantly English-speaking board, posting a screenshot rather than a link to lend credence to your claim (http://www.gametrics.com/Rank/Rank02.aspx), from a website that is in its own beta-state, while neglecting to compare ArcheAge against other RPGs alone (presumably as that would require you to purchase a subscription to Gametrics), all to lambast a title most of us have never played? For that matter, have you even played it?

I'd say you're a fool, but it appears you beat me to the point.

Actually i find the list is quite informative. If it was like, say, number 5, then maybe i would want to know what the first 4 games are, but its number 20, and the population playing it is 0.45%, does it really matter what the other 19 games are?

As someone who has played both Black Desert CBT and ArcheAge(been playing for months on Korean servers) - BD is inferior in all aspects other than character graphics at this time. This is the general consensus.

BD is popular because it's new, it doesn't have the depth of systems that AA has, BD is more of an action game with parkour elements - heck AA has entire underwater realms to explore, in BD you can't even go underwater yet - and crafting is laughable in BD.

Also I am not sure if you are up with the latest info - but XLGames is redoing a ton of ArcheAge content based on player feedback - the biggest part of this is removal of almost all themepark elements, so these "themepark features" are on the way out.

All MMORPGs (especially fantasy ones) have seen a drastic drop in popularity in Korea over the last couple of years - this is across the board.

IMO - Fantasy RPGs are a LOT more popular in US/EU markets than Asian markets at this point, so AA will do quite well

The game is fun for the first month, face it. After that the content gets repetitive and boring. I hope, Trion will cancel the EU/NA port and sell the publishing rights to some asia-specialized f2p publisher...

Other than financial, I can only imagine that is a good thing.

I don't know you and don't know the things you like but the things "I like" and that I find of worth are usually not the most popular.

Though my interest in ArcheAge is at this point academic, all this means to me is that the game is actually good.

Then again, all I want from a game is a world to explore, an interesting character and sieges.

Yes i might be stereotyping but i do follow trends and seems to be Koreans tend to prefer Esporting more or gaming with bragging rights.

I prefer my MMORPG to be a friendly atmosphere where the game brings players together, not to compete or pvp but to make accomplishments in the game.SO if AA can achieve this,it most certainly would do better here.

There are a few serious mistakes i feel they are doing and one big one is the housing castle idea, that screams of alienating a HUGE number of players ,that is not smart game design.Everyone in a game likes to feel a part of the game no matter they belong to a guild of 500 or 5.

Blade & Soul is #5 on the list and the last time anybody from NC Soft or Team Bloodlust uttered one letter about the US release was Dec 05 2012.

I don't know what the housing castle thing is but that might be smart game design depending on one's taste.

I don't mind players not having access to everything if they don't work for it.

So, could you elaborate on the "housing castle idea"?

Yes, like Lineage* (1 and 2).

But nowadays AA seems to have so many safezones that the intended risk-reward system to trade runs isn't the better it could be.

None of that is in BD yet - at least not in current CBT, you probably haven't even played Black Desert and are just falling for the marketing hype at this time.

Sure they are planned features, but ArcheAge has actual castle sieges and open world housing and underwater content again which is non existent in BD.

Don't even get me started on how glitchy BD is, very buggy client.

This was a bold vision that kinda went terribly wrong IMO.  Starting with the Steampunk ideas I think.

And this game was not developed for us in North America.   So if there are issues over there it is a long way from being ready for our market.

Again it seems, trying to cater to many varied tastes in an MMO often leads to many not liking it.

It's potential for success or failure in NA/EU can't really be judged until we finally have a beta of our own. I played KR for three months and while I enjoyed it, the language barrier kept me from fully engaging and exploring the game. As there very stark differences between Korean and Western players, I'm not shocked that AA may not be doing so well at home as the game has all the hallmarks of what those of us in the West are clamoring for, not being the proto-typical Asian theme.

Many of the games not even MMORPGs and some are even sport games... lol

Need to put this "list" under the right perspective...

And how many of us in the west play a MMORPG from an internet cafe ????????

Intern cafes are best for short attention span games, arcade and action type etc....

Can we please have numbers with customers that are sure to live in appartment or some sort of room they call home ?

yeah but aren't those features of the game and isn't it still being built?

Archeage is a finished game. You can't compare the two.

Obviously you don't have the right of view. You're supposed to look at it from the point of view of someone who doesn't like AA, doesn't like Trion, or who just enjoys watching things fail in some way and pointing it out to people. In that context, those numbers are really scary, especially since they are in a scary foreign language.

Twentieth in the list is very far down in the list! Thirty thousand is a small number of players! Questions like what other games and types of games are listed and what time frame the thirty thousand is referencing aren't relevant. Dur.

For every large, complex problem, there is a simple, clear solution that also happens to be absolutely wrong.

So according to the list, its around half the time as WOW - so potentially could be a game with 4+ mill subs over here... Don't see that being a problem.
