I have tried it a little, and it is fun.
However, there is a lot of huge differences.
For exemple, as a regen BS scrapper, if it is not a defender or a controller, I dont even need to be afraid, I will have the upper hand.
I can kill controllers, defenders and blasters in 1 hit if I crit on build up if they are buffless and have no tough.
A storm or a bubble is a nightmare, I can just run the other way! :P
But there is some fun stuff...yet...
I am a CAREBEAR player, not a PvP player...and my toon is definitely VERY strong for PvP(I am poor myself).
Anyway, fun to be messing and testing stuff. |

Taunt is still overpowered however.
Taunt is extremely powerfull in current form, on a character that do melee damage only, it is many times more powerfull.
Taunt should at least affect the taunter a LOT as well. If someone taunt you, they cant focus on anyone else but YOU. If they target someone else, taunt should fail right away...
However, once you are taunted, it should remain until he target someone else, no need to check if fade or whatever.
A character that change target after he taunt should have a 100% extra damage taking from the taunted target for 10 seconds, you turn your back, it gonna hurt...a LOT. The extra damage could be justified by explaning that the taunted target dont ''play courteously'' in a friendly match, I mean, he successfully taunt you and then turn away? He deserve heavy damage reduction penalty, it is gonna hurt!
In current form, taunt is simply overpowered, especially against let's say...a Broadsword or Katana who have to run all the way back to a tanker that is running away...Zzzz Someone that say I stinck and run away dont hold water and is ignore...and if I rush him, usually from behind, it hurt a LOT.
Taunt need a flaw, a HUGE flaw. Dont care much for duration, as long as he dont switch target after he taunt you...and if he switch, he deserve the flaw to be hitting him right away (100% extra damage may also toggle off a few damage reduction powers, so once they taunt you, they dont switch target) Taunt need to be single target in PvP, taunting a hero is a LOT harder then taunting minions...and it may turn quite wrong if you underestimate the hero you taunt.
If you have any doubts at how overpowering taunt is, try a group with 2 tankers that work well together...Zzzz, it is not even close to be worth playing. 2 tankers meetings 2 scrappers head on should not laugh...it should be dangerous for both sides, not something you will faak and find incredibly boring. The only thing that make this completely a joke is taunt. Of course a scrapper can take taunt as well, so imagine now the scrapper respec out and take taunt...Zzzz, nothing will happen in this encounter because taunt is stronger then everything else. (in fact, I would take taunt to make sure he dont taunt anyone else, and then rush brawl him a few rounds before I Build Up and head splitter/disembowel, so the rest of the group is not taunted...Zzzz and on refresh, keep him taunted if he taunt you...maybe taunt another melee for the fun) |

Issue 4 seems to have been a little rushed, because it has a lot of bugs. I have not played since Friday so I have no idea if they are fixed. I am assuming not since my super group on TS is still finding the same ones. The ones we found were: 1 Slotting enhancements and loosing them. 2 Changing your costume at the tailor and loosing the influence and not getting the costume changes. 3 The hero ID and contact pictures are blacked out. 4 You can barely read the available enhancements for a power on the management screen. I tried the arena live and thought it sucked. My lvl 43 Spines, Dark Armor scrapper went up against my friend's lvl 43 Katana, Regen scrapper. I was never able to hit him until he turned off tough and weave. He was pounding me with his katana for 224 points of damage per hit. I do not care that I was beaten, but when none of my AOEs can hit him, or my attcks something is wrong. This was also my first time ever at PvP, so I may need to give it more of a chance. He told me his same scrapper took out a lvl 45 later that day.

To think about killing a regen/invul or a tanker, you need to attack him a LOT with brawl & maybe boxing(does it remove a toggle as well? unsure hehe, was doing it since brawl have to refresh and just beside).
Or any attack that turn off his powers, on 1 vs 1, a regen scrapper is pretty hard...I have mosts tankers/scrappers conceding when I dont plainly win(althought chasing them at the right moment their stuff was toggle off was an issue, it was possible for me to kill them) while it was saddly impossible for them to kill me on a 1 vs 1, the time to refresh my powers was way to short for him to have time to hope to even kill me, if the player realize that I ''can'' kill him despite his good playing and he cant kill me, they usually concede out of logic. Any Unstoppable/Regen that was build finely was impossible to kill in any form in a duel for me(IH and integration refresh fast, and they have other toggles...and Unstoppable 6 slotted = forget it).
You should click sprint and other weak stuff to protect your strong toggles as best as you can.
Storm defenders are painfull to hunt with a Broadsword and the fight is LONG. Some controllers are pretty hard since they tank well while doing awesome damage, only chance is to toggle their powers off with a few brawls and you need to do it fast...but with all those powers they have, you dont have much time...as they usually outdamage your healing rate...luckily they usually dont click sprint so you have good chances at toggling off the few powers you need off. In big fights, brilliant storm push me in a corner and I am jamn there, while they somewhat give range support to their team...most teams avoid fighting me while the Storm hold me in a corner, but those who can kill me fast usually come...yet, many teams cant kill me fast if kill me at all they can.
Blasters are at a disadvantage(can 1 shot them), however if it is a blaster that focus on killing a single target, they may ve on par...(fought 1 that was more skilled then me as a player, so he beat me, but my toon was outmatching his blaster, so it is really the player and not his toon that make the difference)...the assault gun was doing a decent job against me! |
