Skipping Stones (although stability helps a lot) and the WvW ones are also pretty difficult. Griffin rook with the bomb to open the chest is also challenging.

Of course the king is the Halloween 2012 Mad King's Clock Tower.

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong.

Aye, Mad King's without any doubt.

That one in Metrica zone was pretty hard.

The Metrica one was the first...and last one I ever did.  It took me an hour and 15 minutes to do.  Granted I may not be a pro-jumping puzzle person (obviously), but after doing it, my hatred for jumping puzzles jumped to maximum height.

Jumping puzzles can go rot in some place not pleasant.  And for a guy who LOVES to WvW/PvP, when I finally got my guild to come out to WvW, i just wanted to bang my head against the wall everytime they said "Hey guys lets go do the WvW Jumping Puzzle."

Get the eff outta here! lol.

But yeah...jumping puzzles and me just don't get along.

I am entitled to my opinions, misspellings, and grammatical errors.

Can be tricky, but not so hard after the first time :)

I have done all of the "non-seasonal" jumping puzzles. The hardest was, for me, by a freaking country light millennium, Dark Reverie.

Why? It is incredibly long and is actually two jumping puzzles in one: the latter part is actually the end to Morgan's leap. You actually have to do one entire jumping puzzle just to get to it and there is no shortcut.

Given that death is generally the price for failure, there are some VERY tricky jumps towards the end and you also have to clear some nasty veterans at times, I had to actually "cheat" by using spectral walk to do it .. or I never would have been able to do it.

Not only do you generally die if you fall, but if you don't make it back fast enough you have to do the event to open up the first part all over again, which is an annoying escort the NPC quest.

If you had trouble with "not so secret" this one might make you pull your hair out, although I cheated for that one as well.

I honestly don't like the "harder" ones that make you start all over if you fail once. I prefer jumping puzzles that have hard segments, but the ability to start right over (provided you're not killed) like Obsidian Sanctum.

I once spend half an hour or so helping some random dude by rezzing him whenever he failed a jump there.

If you haven't done that one in a while, I'd suggest you go back and try to do it again to see how it feels to you now.  This was the first JP I encountered in the game (along with Morgan's Spiral, since they go hand in hand) way back in beta.  Morgan's Spiral was a piece of cake, but Dark Reverie had the lot of us scratching our heads.  The thing was, we didn't even know if there was more to the puzzle, as we couldn't see where to go from some of the leaves way up high.  There was one jump that looked like it might have been the way to go, but the jump looked impossibly high.  All in all, we fell to our deaths several times, died to slowing plants, died to veterans at the bottom, and never made it to the top.

When I decided to go back there several months later as a seasoned puzzle jumper, I just waltzed my way up to the top in one try.  I saw right where to go because my eye was more trained on what to look for.  I effortlessly strafe-jumped that impossibly high jump.  I calmly killed plant turrets from afar.  I was surprised at how easy it all felt.

The moral of the story is even though you might not necessarily realize it, chances are you've probably gotten a lot better at jumping puzzles over time, and any puzzle you thought was super challenging back in the beginning might not actually be that hard after all.

----------------------------------------------

As for which I think is the hardest?

Scavenger's Chasm in Malchor's Leap can take you hours upon hours to find all 12 orbs needed to open the chests at the top.  It's probably the puzzle that the fewest number of players have completed.

Obsidian Sanctum can be extremely difficult to complete due to the pvp element in additional to some seriously challenging puzzle elements.

Skipping Stones in Southsun can be pretty infuriating, as can the new Aetherblade puzzle in Gendarran.  I think a lot of players relied on mesmer teleports to reach both and have never actually completed them themselves.

Edit to add that I can't wait for the return of the Clock Tower!  I loved that thing.  I made sure to get my (rather worthless) slippers on 5 characters.  I hope it returns in all its glory this year, and yields a more displayable reward.

Hardest one I tried was the mad king one, after a few tries I was able to run it flawlessly for all my friends. Wis there was some actually challenging jumping puzzles. Kind of like the WvW one also, spent so much time PVPing in there... was checking in lately but noone seems to run them... :(

Ahh yes, "Hypers." The people who praise and hate every MMORPG... We've dismissed that claim.

9/27/13 8:42:44 AM#13

Excluding SAB.

Hardest (and most fun) was mad king's clocktower.

Not so secret isn't that hard. The only thing that makes it hard is the buggy spring and launch mechanics.

I found skipping stones easy. Like. Really easy.

I actually didn't like Mad King's jumping puzzle... I'm not good at jumping and I like to take my time to do them slowly instead of rushing - e.g. tactics before twitch skills :)

Not so secret is damn hard if you go for diving goggles... If you don't have your friendly mesmer to jump you back up, you can literaly spend lifetime there :)

Also I'd go and check some mini dungeons. For example Forsaken Halls is quite fun dungeon a bit similar to dark room in EB with nice twist. It's actually quite hard if you do that one solo.

Flame Temple Tomb and Vexxa's Lab are also quite interesting mini dungeons/jumping puzzles.

One of the reasons I love to play GW2 is because of my guild. I love my guild because there are some really cool and supportive, helpful, fun people in it -- not to mention patient.

One of my guild mates took me through that jumping puzzle the first time. It probably took me 40 minutes or more. I was embarrassed and felt like a total noob.  I told him, I would figure it out, just go on ahead, but he stayed on and coached, told me when to use stability, etc. I still get irritated by jumping puzzles, but I felt really good when I got through it and it was a good moment for me to recognize how happy I am with my guild.

It was hard, but perfectly doable. That Mesmer cannot port you there if he hasn't done it him/herself first ;)

Yeah, what I mean, go to goggles, take a dive, miss that lil space you have to fall through by an inch, die, friendly mesmer ports you up so that you can try  (and die) again :) I went there with a mesmer and met another mesmer doing the same thing, so we took turns who tries next :) It took me about 10 tries or so... I can't really imagine how would it be to run up 10 times (and remember what I did last time and adjust that by a very small margin).

You see I like that. Even if it's hard, probably frustrating and irritating, when you get to the end, all the better you feel. If it was easy and bland, you would just jump through it and forget, never looked back. If you have someone else to jump with you, that makes even more awesome memories :)

Slippers are not worthless anymore :D. Exotic 80 with MF, that was removed - so You can change them into something quite neat :)
