LucasArts has a mark on any game with Star Wars involved, but I dont think Sony sat there and said yeah this is a bad idea, if anything Sony went to LucasArts and said "hey we can make this game look like Everquest, a better seller." And LucasArts went, "okay" and went back to KOTOR or liek I said Ep3.

The fact remains, many polls show it having a 1 out of 5 rating, and with over 16K signatures and the now worse lag and more bugs and lack of any true players left in SWG (yes there are some) Sony is eating it right now.

Not sure what that has to do with what I said but yes LA does have their name on everything video game and Star Wars. I do not I see how you feel a company would not worry about a product cause they have too many. LA has people assigned to do those little tasks, in this case Hayden Blackman. And you really feel that LA's position on it is Sony comes up and sells them on idea's? Do you think thats how Jedi got into the game? You might wanna think on that one.

I have been folowing every post on this forum, as well as scanning several other sites including SOE's SWG forums. So far i see 75% of the posters, not counting multiple posts by same users, flaming etc... to be negative about the CU. Many of my friends have quit in the last week folowing the CU. Many of these friends were the reason i was trying to get used to the CU ... now i am in the process of canceling one account, wondering if my son will want to keep playing after he gets here for the summer (if not 2nd, & 3rd  account canceled). Not to mention my girlfriend and i used to play SWG together and now she wants to quit, she unlocked her jedi RIGHT before the CU went live after grinding out ALL 32 professions and 2 different pilot ones, that will be the 4th and final account gone. I understand somelike the CU, I also look around and it seems MANY more hate it.

I have played for almost 2 years, my girlfriend for over a year.

Looking forward to DDO and trying to give the CU a chance til then. Its tough to play a game when all your friends dont want to play due to SOE's lack of respect for its current players and their ideas and input on how the game should have not changed so drastically. Really think SOE got pissed about the JTL push and Combat BALANCE roll back... but that is my opinion

Basically, the concensus has been with the majority of the people who browse the internet, post, read, and comment on SWG that they all disagree with the shoddy implimentation of this so called "combat upgrade". To argue that the polls are wrong because they have only a small fraction of the number of people who play the game represented is like saying that a bucket filled with ocean water isn't from the ocean. That is the whole purpose of a poll is to sample a part of a target group for answers.

SOE and Lucasarts have placed this MMORPG game on track for history to remember it as the "bludder upgrade" that was ruined by crappy management decisions and inept programmers that cared for nothing of this game they helped "develop". Will they reverse this "upgrade"? No, they won't ever "admit" to their own imperfections and flawed decisions. Will this game continue for much longer? The end of the year we will see the beginnings of SOE "wrapping up" this project. Will we see a SWG2? I bloody well hope so, and it better not be an SOE project. Until then, Star Trek Online is looking very good on the horizon.

I agree with you, but I am saying that they both have a hand in it. Sony though has the game on its website, that is where the people of Star Wars Galaxies disscuss the issues. I am saying they both have a hand in this and it is sony I deal with since the game's support goes straight to SOE online rather than Lucasarts.

I think the game will go on because the movie will inspire MANY to go get the game, and they will never have the knowledge of how unique and how different this game was. Also, if you have cancelled your account you cannot post on the SWG forums, so there is nothing but positive talk by people who are there and did not work as hard as some of us to get a great character. Personally, I set up my Internet team for this game, got a player city up and running and handled the day to day affairs of my fellow teammates and the city all the while putting my JEDI Dreams aside to make this game a better place for members of my guild. I was not a PvPer and I was not a selfish player. I spent hours standing there healing new guild members as they tried to level up so it is not like people just played this game, they got involved. SOE basically took a giant dump on people like me and the crafters. All those people who did not spend time to make themselves a great character run around saying we are crying because we are not elite anymore, and to a point yes, we DID put in the work afterall.

Just a crappy way to treat people who have stuck with their game even though it was laggy, and had bugs that were never fixed from like day 1 (A lair not showing up, a target in a tree, or a Lair dissapearing during combat, and meditate not working).

Thank you MMORPG for getting at least someone to answer questions, they sure dont like talking on the SWG forums. 

Ive been on vacation and just had the chance to read the faq on this subject.  ANd for what my two cents is worth it seems that SOE doesnt really care.  I have been with SWG since launch, and I am terribly saddened that the game has been CHANGED (not upgraded) to something that so totally doesnt appeal to me.  I am saying goodbye to a lot of friends.  On my server intrepid, there has been a mass exodus of departing members and entire guilds as well.  Some of the smaller cities are toatally gone because of people leaving. 

What botheres me the most about this whole thing, isnt really the CU itself.. Its the manner in which it was implemented. It doesnt take a programmer to see that the CU wasnt ready for live deployment.  And yet SOE did it anyways.  IMO it was barely Beta at best.  The real kicker is that SOE is forcing everyone to believe that it is the greatest thing to happen to SWG.  I for one refuse to pay to Beta a product that I didnt want changed to begin with in the first place. 

SWG was a great game.  I had a great time playing.  To those of you that will comtinue to play and for those of you who come to play it, I wish you all the very best.  Its just not the game I feel in love with so long ago.  Maybe, somewhere down the road Ill stop in to see if theve ironed out all the bugs.  But until then,  Ill be happy spending my money on other titles, like GUild Wars, WOW, MAtrix etc, etc. 

I am a STAR WARS nut, but with the CU and the SOE attitude to the players I have found out that City of Heroes has to be the best MMO out there. GREAT Character Generator, great look, just a fun game, and unique.

Why is the Docotr a combat class and Combat Medic is not?? That makes no sense. Man, all our Docs, and Crafters took off when the CU hit after about a day or 2 and said NO WAY! Some left right when they brought it in because they read and went to the Test center

I feel bad for the people playing the game now, they are basically paying $15.86 a month to beta test the CU for SWG.

Yeah Im on right now..  And cant respec my character back to master doc..  I have no desire to play it..  At all..  Im just standing there..  Because even as a Master BH with COmposite Armor..  I got killed by a KAduu checking my harvestor..

And its next to my house..  SO I submitted a service ticket..  THe response should be interesting..

I respecd my guy and could not move lol! I was standing in Theed in my underwear lol and could not move. Sent a ticket to CSR they told me to e mail customer service. LMAO, I e mailed customer service they TOLD ME TO WRITE A TICKET WTHF!!!!!

I had to basically make a NEW Character to try out the combat system and it was horrible. And I love how the guy LIES ABOUT YOU CAN SOLO! OH MY GAWD, NOT VERY MANY CAN! WHAT A JOKE, THE PEOPLE WHO STAYED IN MY GUILD SAID THEY HAVE TO HUNT IN PARTIES AND THEY ARE MASTER COMBAT PROFESSIONS LOL!

Oh my God, Get this Julio or Jose or whatever his name is and make him tell the truth, and at least give us an apology for Effing up the game for us

With numbers falling faster than a fat ewok skydiving with out a paracute  it looks like the death toll for SWG, sad to say but what was once a Killer game is now going to look like Horizons.

Anyway, I sent oh smedly a letter..  Just the usual rant a rave.  I wont pay to beta test the game for you..  Yadda yadda yadda..  ITs really sad that it took almost 2 weeks for SOE to start interviewing about this great CU.  Whats really sad is how they hype it up about how great it is.  EVEN after all the negative response from it

Well oh well..  Off to another game..  In search of the next SWG.. (pre CU that is.. )

I am a combat medic, they are still very much a combat class. Even moreso then a doctor as a matter of fact. Doctors play a different role now in group from a CM but both are combat group healers now. I can craft some stims, thats about it, I am not a crafting class.

Last time I checked CH's can't wear composite armor and I KNOW doctors can't. So whats your third elite profession or are you just exxagerating?

Well I certainly wouldnt say all the posting on teh official forum is positive! Hehe, they are getting toasted rather bad, or were, the momentum is dieing now though.

And yes, I agree with you, what they did was wrong and I won't try to deny anyone feeling that way. I don't feel to hot about it myself.

When SOE eventually pisses those people off then you will see another falling out. I took my hard earned money else where, WoW. I researched my choice before selecting WoW and found it to be a good one.
