Non-Sense Blizzard made billions off the 14-18 year demographic with a Cartoon game that is often light hearted and silly.

Yes, in the Q&A panel someone asked about going "against" rallying calls, if you could be on the "other side" and go against the call , they consider people fighting against a rally call from happening as griefing and said it won't happen.

1.  Artstyle.  What the #$%@ where you thinking?

2.  Music style.  Are you on drugs?

3.  GW2-esque fixed action bar and limited weapons per class.  Think we're children?

4.  Landmark EQ where we build the world for them, for free.  Think we're idiots?

This has been a topic of debate:

 

We have heard that EQN was designed without encouragement of a formal "holy trinity" system. We have also heard from the StoryBricks folks that the need for a trinity was supplanted by more advanced AI.

Can you please explain specifically how the combat system would work with this new AI, and how the trinity is no longer required?

I think Rallying Calls are/is the evolution of the basic/standard/main story-line everybody knows in which each player can follow it if he/she wants grow up, go further in game with a sort of more common/linear  way that is the well known vertical progression!

 

We have no more esclamation points on the heads! but the Calls show us the way to not get lost in that huge world.

I think it works so and the others can enjoy the new horizzontal free progression instead of pre-generated quests.

 

A lot of people are underlining the fact that R.Calls give us no real free choices and it's truth because that is a

mass-server-mainstory-vertical-line-quest in which the choices are in one sense but needs the cooperation of a lot of players!

 

Don't worry about that I'm sure there are tons of freedom/free choices/a life of consequenses into the game as well!

 

Concerning a question at GAMESCOM: I'd like to know more about Alignments, Death and their consequenses...

Aside from having different possible ways to advance a rallying call, How about also having different possible outcomes? That way players aren't only shaping the world, they also decide which way the world will be shaped.

How can you say the majority of players likes the art style. All I can see is that both camps reasonably large. Furthermore, I believe that pretty much everyone who is fine with the graphics, would like less cartoony graphics as well. I never heard someone saying something like: "I always wanted Everquest to look like a Disney movie."

Actually, I've said exactly that several times over the years. Not pertaining to EQN or any game in particular. But when I said it I was thinking just like you are saying. Disney made some more realistic stuff over the years. For example, in Guliver's Travels, while the little folk looked like the dwarves from Snow White, the prince and princess looked like Snow White in that "realistic" cartoon fashion. That's more of what I was thinking.

But if it's too late, it's too late. It's not really that big of a mistake if the game is a great Sandbox world to run around in.

I do wish they'd downsize those shoulder pads and a few weapons and stuff, some of it is overly large and makes the art look even more cartoony.

1) Can you actively work against a rally call if you oppose it? If so, how?

3) Whenever asked about the trinity you talk about removing tanks. Will there be specialist healing and support classes?

It was mentioned that enemies will spawn and move to areas that suite their preferences and traits, such as the orc example. However, once in their area will they mill around, or will creatures and NPCs in the wilderness roam and perform activities expected of them.?

Like will beasts migrate to a field and just stand around until I attack them or enter their aggro circle or will they patrol to actively hunt/aggro, or flee based on their species/traits?

I would like to know , given the 40 classes that are promised..  If we will have  a) charming, b) mezzing, c) feign death, d) kiting, e) porting,  f) serious HEALING......... OR are all the classes just going to be DPS hybrid classes

I would like to know whether or not there will be for sure PvE and/or PvP servers to choose from. If I want to opt out (via server choice) of PvP, I want it to be 100%, not some arcane complex, content limited (safe zones) broken rule structure that limits my choice.

If I opt in (server choice), I want it to also be 100% and again, not some inane system that requires certain conditions be met.

I doubt this will be addressable until they talk about pvp at all.

Will there be a class which is a master of crowd control through displacement?  We have seen in video warrior doing knock backs with a shield but it would be neat to have a class which can teleport mobs to and fro as way of crowd control.

I have a question that I did not get to ask during the Q & A at SOE Live that I was curious about. Since Everquest Next Landmark is launching sometime this winter it was stated that the existence of guilds and such will be a part of the Landmark. When I form a guild and name it inside Landmark, will it be transferable to Everquest Next when it launches? It would be kind of chitty if I in fact formed / named a guild, played under that guild name in Landmark for a year (or however long it takes) until Everquest Next launches, only to have some other group on the launch day of Everquest Next to form their guild but allow them to use / create same name guild name I created and used during in Landmark.

Additionally, this would apply for character names as well. Will character names that are created in Landmark be transferable to Everquest Next? I would certainly hate to make a character, name it, and build a reputation that people will identify me by in Landmark only to have somebody create a character under the same name in Everquest Next who isn't me.

This question is more important than all other questions you will ask regarding combat mechanics and class dependency. 

 

"Will one's character spells directly affect party members DPS and health, and are one's spells able to physically move party members, i.e... can i use a spell to pull a party member to my location or use a spell to swap places with a party member."

 

If they confirm/deny this question it will give us a very good indication of the type of class dependency we will have.

 

Its not enough to simply ask them "will there be class dependency" and they have and will respond "yes there will be dependency" however not actually explaining any details on how they will actually accomplish that. if we know that we are able to buff dps or affect HP or able to move party members around we will know that team play will be incorporated in the game play.
