First came pride, then envy.

I hate to be that guy, but here's a link to a thread I made discussing this very topic in context of content released over the same time period by one of the most successful MMOs of all time, WoW.

People made many cases for both games, and there was no clear "winner."  The biggest debate about GW2 seems to center around the nature of temporary content, which has its own extreme pros and cons.

A good comparison.  It's too bad people won't be objective though.  They just want to perceive which content is relevant to them, instead of realizing there is content for everyone.

How about some interesting puzzles? Perhaps a special Rock Paper Scissor mini game to play with friends? Its really easy, even the smallest bit of flare can help give a sense of having more to the game and can fill in that time leaving players feeling less like they are getting practically nothing.

I enjoyed the game for the levling process, I know I've been negative lately but like Dontain said you become invested in a game when you buy it and the people who speak negatively about a game aren't always people who just hate it just to hate the thing.

I don't hate the game I don't have the devs, I do think the ratio between what's wrong and what's right is way too skewed. There's so much wrong now nothing short of a major game patch or an expansion (I wouldn't pay for one unless they removed alot of problems open world pveers face) is going to fix it.

And people keep saying be patient, you know what, we've been plenty patient, it's almost the anniversary now. The time of patience is well beyond gone, it's time for them to pony up with what they told us this game would be, otherwise it really is a strong case for a bait and switch trial. That's how bad it is. LS was admitedly an experimentation on their part not an actual fix to the problem of them ignoring the open world content for 8 months. Anyone who claims otherwise is not being honest. That's on top of the minigames and activities not being added (those promised and those that have been ignored entirely).

For example. If they had actually delivered on their promise and just put forth 10 new DE's and 1 meta a month that would have been a huge score of content. They could do it too, they have the means, according to them doing DE's and metas were quick cheap and easily spit out in their system of putting together content like that. They even said it was faster then any dungeon building process. Add to that the huge profits they're supposedly making gotta ask yourself uhm where's the content? it certainly isn't this LS crap!

Then i suggest moving on.  If your patience is gone, and you feel this game will never improve, then why keep dwelling on it?  I don't visit the Lotro, AoC, Aion, or EQ2 forums anymore, because i've moved on, and i know those games will never improve to my own satisfaction.  You should do the same, otherwise your opinions will always be negative, and just like in real life, people don't like being around negativity.

Really?

I visit them all,  because i am currently enjoying  GW2, SWTOR, TSW combined with a little of EQ2, Rift, Lotro, Neverwinter, DCUO and DDO... i played all of them in the last month...

All of them are good game... and all of them have great and less great things.. But after some time in any of those games i start really missing things from other MMO´s .. and then i switch again.

Not that i play them that much, my total gaming time currently averages like 20 hours a week.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations)
Currently playing : The Elder Scrolls Online and Wildstar

Nah, LordBachus, I think is just a guy who likes to play the antagonist sometimes.

One day, you'll see him praise the game, the next day he'll say something weird and you're like.... "Dude, wth?"

This is not a game.

I thought maybe he forgot to change accounts since he was replying to people saying itgrowls have been crying for 6 months.

They can pump out all the content they want, bot as long as the base gameplay and mechanics are boring, and the new content yields no substantial reqards, then it doesnt really matter to me.

re: enemies for life vs fanboys.

If you want to be a big title, this pretty much comes with the territory.

The Behemoth? Numerous lifetime hater awards, and gadzillions of fanboys.

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

Well, they have an NPC that increases your gold find and one that increases your magic find and people are using that to farm the map getting rares and exotics and those RNG chests that no one likes. The Island is quite rewarding so far.

This is not a game.

i just cant see all the added content. Yes there was a single new zone added ( southsun) with a fun event, but not really much content.  Yes they made some ingame dungeons more accesible by creating the  fractals. Yes they added a bit of living story, but thats just abusing the old Ones allready there. And then there where the seasonal things, which they probably can use every year.

but what about adding real core content... New zones with totally new dynamic events and lore, more personal stories (or just stories for everyone to play and enjoy) more truely new dungeons.  Or adding new types of PvP combat.  And what about the 30 or so mini games that where promised at release... Nope they truely managed not adding anything substantial in that part.

And there even isnt any expansion pack on the horizon.

where the game aimed at explorers at release, there is not much to explore anymore.

The game isn't even 9 months old and you are whining? Give it a break man.

They have been fixing bugs, new WvW skills, etc., living world, The holiday special add ins, etc. That isn't enough for you? What do you want?

There is a plan for an expansion - but when it comes out no one knows yet.

Dude, 9 months and no MAJOR updates is insane.  You need new content, and one event and seasonal garbage ain't it, to keep the players interested so they keep playing.  Besides, bug fixes should be ongoing in any game and new skills tells me that they released the game without proper development/testing for WvW, but what's new there.  Real content is what will keep the playerbase coming back for years to come.

Yeah they really dropped the ball by having temporary content and deciding not to release an expansion a year later. Its a theme park, you need to be on top of new content.

GW1 had a lot more staying power for me, at least there were skills to hunt down at max level, to experiment with new builds.

It sounds much better that way. Never assume to know what others like or not, you can talk for yourself, but not for the others. And definitely not for me.

A year later would be August, not now. That's 3 months away, there will be several content patches until then, and they also have plenty of time to announce something bigger to be released by the end of this year.

My computer is better than yours.

Lets just ignore all the other content already posted, say some content was added but it isn't real content for some reason and we are set.

Currently playing: GW2
Cooperative (semi cooperative)board games you should check: Pandemic, Sentinels of the Multiverse, Eldritch Horror, Descent 2.0,Level 7 Omega Protocol, Last Night on Earth

Yeah they really dropped the ball by having temporary content and deciding not to release an expansion a year later. Its a theme park, you need to be on top of new content.

GW1 had a lot more staying power for me, at least there were skills to hunt down at max level, to experiment with new builds.

GW2 is also bigger than GW:Prophecies to start with.

A year later would be August, not now. That's 3 months away, there will be several content patches until then, and they also have plenty of time to announce something bigger to be released by the end of this year.

Yeah, but they announced there is no expansion this year already in a Dev post. I don't really see them adding enough content for me to pop in except for a few minutes of PvP here and there.

In terms of map size? Probably. Content wise, I disagree.

After 9 Months and 7 just doing Wv3 + offline obligations = only 1x Level 80 Character (with every armor set, except for TA one) + at least 5 own builds

In other words, not complaing at all, paid 150€ and don´t think i can bitch about it, have enough content ahead of me, enough to theory craft (main+alts) and 7x alts are waiting too, if you eat through content like an anorexic termite ... and play 1x character only and do not care about theory crafting = aint the game, its you!

For futher "lets bitch and cry" threads : just add the following at the end of your post, this way we know at least, what type of players you are.

/Signed

Dontain, Get Crit!

Its probably a great idea, to implement /age /achievements and login character-info in further threads (MMOS), like your own MMO-Signatur in Game X and such..hmm

One thing is to bitch about "lack of content", other thing it to bitch because you just like to troll... here or in ohter Games. If you play, in this case GW2, daily for like 6-10h straight.. no wonder you are getting bored ;)
