There's still 21 days left and it's already at 52%. Don't panic until the final week. Remember that in the last few days of a Kickstarter there is usually a large bump as people who were on the fence finally commit and early adopters increase their pledges to make sure it funds.

Also the daily amount goes up and down often influenced by any new information released about the project. There has been little news about CU the last few days and the new tech demo only came out late last evening. It wouldn't be surprising if today's amount is higher again after people watch that and get excited.

yea its a little concerning, i think it needs some more marketing and hopefully the tech demo soon networked with their rendering engine will be enough to get people on the fence over.

Uhh, the $110 and $250 have been the highest revenue generating tiers.

The top 3 teirs combined currently make up $155k in funding, with only two $10k ones left.  If CU funds, those top tiers will only make up 8.7% at MOST of the total funding.  (And that's assuming the $10k tier sells out)

Regarding KickTraq's "prediction cone", I'd like to point out the following:

a) It's an experimental build, which implies that it's not fully working as intended.

b) It doesn't look in any way like the graphs of projects that have funded. As many others have mentioned, most Kickstarters look very much like CU does now, followed by a huge spike in the last few days. The 'cone' clearly does not account for this.

4 Tiers have sold out, As we get closer to the end I'd expect some more tiers to sell out. For example, the last couple days of Shroud of the Avatar I was really inclined to drop like 30 dollars just to get a copy of the game because frankly once the game comes out it will probably be double to get a copy.

I'd imagine a lot of people are the same way and the last few days we'll see a huge spike in backers for the lower few tiers. $30 for a game is really cheap.

I healed Mistwraith and all I got was this stupid tee-shirt!

First off, I pledged the minute they opened the KS. 

 

But I'm getting less and less hopeful as time goes on.  Now the TOP end of the projection cone is under the $2m mark.  Yes I realize it's beta, but that's not the only stat that's looking grim.  The average daily pledges needed is quickly rising, currently at $51k.  I think MJ/CSE would have been well served to wait until they had all these tech demo's and such first, then do the KS.  Yes that means a little more money up front but there are a lot of people that aren't going to pledge based on just an idea with no tangible evidence of something being produced.  That last surge is going to have to be huge to even hit the $2m mark I think. 

 

Call me whatever you like, but I'm seriously debating reducing my pledge level to $25 because I feel the first two stretch goals should have been a part of the base game.  It almost has the feel of day 1 DLC to me.

There would need to be 27,565 backers at the $30 tier, as of right now, to finish the kickstarter....

I can definitely see your point and I'm certain your not alone. I imagine if they had hit their KS fund by now pledges would have increased to get the stretch goals funded, these being the only really fleshed out ideas we have really seen and as such the only information that's caused any real excitement, for me at least.

Badly managed release of information has hurt this KS, it might ultimately kill it.

Same for me, I will probably reduce my pledge at the last day if the archer class is not in (stretch not met).

I can definitely see your point and I'm certain your not alone. I imagine if they had hit their KS fund by now pledges would have increased to get the stretch goals funded, these being the only really fleshed out ideas we have really seen and as such the only information that's caused any real excitement, for me at least.

Badly managed release of information has hurt this KS, it might ultimately kill it.

I can agree that CSE has managed some of the information and updates poorly. The first mistake was focusing the bulk of recent information on a stretch goal instead of the core game. MJ should have talked about races, classes, and general combat and siege mechanics before anything else. People want to know more about the base game and how it works! Some design details on these aspects would go a long, long way. Release information on a tank concept, for example. It does not have to be completely finished, but give people something to discuss and look forward to.

The second mistake is discussing the stretch goals while not even close to the funding goal. They really shot themselves in the foot by basically saying, "Hey, here is this really, really cool concept, but it is not even in the game at the moment and won't be unless we not only fund, which we are not even close to, but go above that goal." Now people, like one in the quote chain above, think these are missing mechanics instead of additional mechanics, so now some people feel like they are being cheated. The Depths sound incredible, but they are so far off in terms of funding that they are not going to drive as much interest as stuff part of the $2M goal.

Don't get me wrong, I want to see this game fund and pledged a small fortune to it, but there have been a few missteps that are hindering its chance of success. My advice would be to start releasing large amounts of actual game information, even if it is only concepts, about the races and classes and combat mechanics. If you can do it with The Depths, which is not even part of the base game, why not do it for thebase game? There are a bit less than 16 days remaining to ignite some more interest and get the hesitant people on the fence ot take the plunge, so get them salivating!

Today is the first day we are behind the linear curve. We are still trending to reach 95% of goal so a boost at the end should easily put us over the top.

It's sad though because I was hoping to reach a ton of stretch goals.

I healed Mistwraith and all I got was this stupid tee-shirt!

It needs an average of over $70k a day to reach its goal. Doesn't look too good. Que sad trombone....wah wah waaaaahhhhh.
