The easiest thing to see is the memory, since its specs are printed on the chip. The Wii U sports 12.8 GB/s of memory bandwidth. For comparison, the Xbox 360 had 22.4 GB/s. The PlayStation 4, meanwhile, has 176 GB/s.

I'm optimistic about the upcoming generation of consoles. I think they have some really horsepower behind them and could support MMOs. However, I hope the would be developers don't compromise on depth for the sake of a console sale. There are several compromises that would have to be addressed:
1. Do all players get to play with each other?
2. Are the systems (combat, events, etc) the same across environments?
3. Is the UI comfortable in both environments?
4. Will content be released at the same time for each environment?
If those are all yes, then it would be cool. If any of those cannot be met, I don't see how it could succeed.
Current MMOs: Wildstar, Guild Wars 2, the Secret World, World of Warcraft
