"But it was so artistically done..." - Grand Admiral Thrawn's final words |
Darth Hater has been invited to head down to BioWare's Austin Campus to have a look at the future of the game. He asked fans to post questions for him to ask developers when he will be there. Please do not post questions here, go to: http://www.darthhater.com/articles/feature/23398-upcoming-trip-bioware-austin
Thanks :)

Darth Hater made many enemies amongst alot of SWTOR players.
Their collective over the top moderating techniques were Draconian.......Many players refused to even return to that site after the mods behavior.
A few guildmates had that type of experience there, as well as myself.......
Just my opinion............. All Will Be Well..... |

I was there getting info for datacrons but it seems like dulfy.net is where people go now for info. I know when I went on DH, the guy was saying how he hated the direction of the game and was going to quit the site or what not, he must have had a change of heart. Can't really say I am excited either way. Not to sound jaded but I have a feeling any questions will be 90% no comment and 10% EA shilling.

That previous staff DESERVED to get canned. Every last one of them.
They were rude, obnoxious and flat out mean to forum goers.

Well... err wow.... did not expect these kind of responses to my post LOL. Got... speechless? I am regularly visiting both DH posts and Dulfy's as well for information. Still. He is going to meet with SWTOR devs and then post what he found out. That's all what counts... right?

Originally posted by Sevenstar61 To be honest, not many curmudgeons such as myself will be impressed if Bioware invites a fansite over for an interview. Especially since Darth Hater has become more of an aggregator, wheras Dulfy, say what you will, still plays the hell out of SWTOR and probably should have been given the nod. Then again, maybe it ups her cred.
*Edit* Even better would be to invite a 3rd party such as MIke B., who has been more then fair, but this is not to be. |

I agree. Mike B. seems like a good guy, and tries to be fair about this game. He should get an invite.
You want to throw away your money developing something stupid, go ahead. |

Mike B. would be more credible than Darth Hater as for asking relevant questions and reporting on what goes on.
Darth Hater used to ask the important questions, like when they asked why the fps sucked so bad when other players were around (paraphrased) in SWTOR, but they don't seem to do stuff like that any longer .. possibly because their website hinges around that one game, whereas MMORPG supports topics for hundreds, thousands (?) of games. Or because a bunch of people (the honest ones?) from DH got canned a short while back.
Darth Hater pretty much seems to provide only upbeat info, while pretending the bad stuff doesn't exist. If they were more honest they would likely have more traffic and be more relevant. As for just general info, TorHead was always around, and Duffy has stepped up to the plate nicely to offer competition.
Now if DH reports back that they played the Super Secret Space Project, that would get my ears perked up. Or a Pazaak / Swoop Racing prototype. Or a procedurally generated explorable world / star system / galaxy. Or personal housing, decorations, trophies. Day / Night cycles. Chatbubbles. Sitting in chairs. Better game engine. Shorter load screens. Doubling of effort from customer service, interactive real-time questing with NPC's, living worlds ..... endless list.
But I have to be realistic because the future of SWTOR is going to be a new OP, some more flashpoints, another warzone, and many more dailys with all new recycled bad art equipment. There will be some visually spectacular stuff available, but that will be only obtainable from the cartel market. Essentially the bare minimum to generate money without effort. Noxxic has better guides and I rarely visit DH.com since the vast majority of what they predicted SWTOR would be, didn't happen. DH.com should have been Darth Speculation.com. |
