2: we won't have to worry over if some pvp centric players are happy in the struggle to keep the game alive and funded

3: we won't have to hear about some game sucks because pvp wasn't constantly awesomesauce 24/7/365.

curious for people who would like owpvp in the PVE areas of GW2 and that have played the game how would it work?

the entire DE system is built around cooperation between people.. the DEs scale depending on the amount around as they are all supposed to be helping. This would completely destroy gw2 questing and make it worthless to do if you could just get ganked in the middle of an event or a group could make the DE scale to high for you to handle solo and then not participate then just jump you while you are getting pounded by mobs. I really can't see anyway how it would work in the way GW2 system is set up.. 

to me its along the same lines as asking for a PVE server in Darkfall.. sure they could do it but it just makes no sense at all as the entire game was designed around a certain aspect.. for darkfall its PVP for gw2 its about cooperation.

only if it is not pointless pvp.. I find no use in pvp that does nothing for either character or faction.. examples of pointless open pvp:

Age of Wushu - Killing players in the open world only gives you penalties, nothing good can come from it.

Rift - Does absolutely nothing and I haven't checked in on it yet but I bet they haven't fleshed out the fact that PvPer's wanted to actually be able to take over outposts and zones either huh?

World of Warcraft - From what I've seen of it, OPvP had no effect on anything.

SWTOR - Does nothing, just a simple meaningless inconvenience..

If you are going to give players the ability to kill each other at least make it somewhat beneficial, or the greifing is just greifing.. Done to simply impair your enjoyment of the game , which can drive players away..

I think you'd have to make an expansion with an entire new faction with some new races and maybe change some old races to cross faction races. Then make some of the early zones safe, that both factions could play, and make some of the later zones PvP, where each faction would be red to each other. I don't think there is even an option for FFA without throwing everything out the window.

 

Not that I would like a system like that in GW2. I just want them to get some more PvP systems ( for structured and WvW) implemented and expand the amount of skills and choices some more.

I agree with OP (except was he saying there should be 2 factions?  that is retarded, 3 factions is the only way to go), there are so many solutions to the problems you guys are listing.  For instance, there could be penalty systems for attacking players lower level than you.  The could be penalty for attacking players during DE, there could be flagging to flag yourself as friendly or as pvp-ready.  There could be dynamic PvP events and only world pvp within those event circles.  I could keep on going with ideas here, tons of ways to make world pvp work.  wvwvw should not exist in the 'mists' it should have been integrated across the pve map.

How would world PvP work in gw2?

there are no factions, and there is nothing in PvE map to fight over.

1550/30 thats 51.6 hours a day and from your statment you dident even put 30 days in, How on earth did you pull that off mate

I'd much rather hear you say 15 hours played, not fun to me.

You kept torturing yourself or did you do it so you can one day post something like this? I ask because it's like you came up with this opinion after the first two characters yet you insist on "Cutting your wrist" even more lol.

It's statements like these and then the posters that buy a game that both the fans and him/herself know damn well he/she isn't going to like it but they spen d60 dollars to then wait a few days or a month and say "This game is not a good game, told you so." LMFAO!!! I'm sorry it just cracks me up a lot everytime I think about the posts I've seen, it's usually the OPs.

Agree 100% with this assessment.

 

I have 3 other issues with the game inlcuding the ones you mentioned.: loot, skill points and dungeon finder.

1. Theres not enough loot variety and the DR system (Diminishing Returns) is aggravating, pointless and not needed any more.

2. It takes what 2 months to farm up 50 skill points on a casual basis but you can only spend those skill points on items with little no value (2-10 gold) via crafting in the forge.  Theres need to be other less costly, more rewarding ways to spend those skill points either through an alternate advancement system or through the mystic forge with luck. (put in a Blue and buy a token for 1 skill point to get a chance to proc an exotic)

3. This game and any game that offers instanced PvE (or PvP for that matter) needs to inlcude some sort of dungeon finder.

If your idea of a Sandbox is open FFA Full Loot PvP, full crafted world with minimal support for anything combat then your sandbox ideas are bad! Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

Thats exactly what he and his ilk want out of gaming.  If their isn't griefing involved it isn't a true game.

I think that if a person suggests that OWPvP should exist in GW2,  it simply shows how little they know about how the game works. 

I also think that if a person knows very little about how the game works, they should learn more about the game before offering suggestions on how they should improve it.

Whatever happened to just PvP'ing for fun? Seriously, when I started WoW at release I rolled on a PvP server. I smack talked on the server's forums (in a non-hostile manner). I got nothing from PvP other than the satisfaction that I was able to beat someone.

I didn't do it for some effect on the world. I didn't do it for any sort of rewards be they gear, points, etc. I did it because it was FUN. Why don't people just do it for fun anymore? Why does there have to be some sort of tangible reward beyond one's own satisfaction? Beating someone, especially as a class which was considered underpowered (warlock at WoW's release) was its own reward.

Sad thing is, world PvP in WoW was at its peak when there was no official reward whatsoever for participating in it. I'm sick and tired of people who think there should be some 'great reward' for doing PvP. If you don't like it, then don't fucking do it. Don't force yourself to participate in an activity which you don't enjoy, but then cry that you should get some kind of reward for making yourself miserable.

Bottom line is that if you enjoy PvP, then bragging rights should be enough of a reward.

Not long ago i went back to L2 and guess what: they now have buff so noone above and below 5 levels can attack you.

While L2 was great game, GW2 took a page from EvE: area for carebears and area for PvPers/RvR, though in GW2 area for carebears is much larger opposed to EvE.

WvWvW is open world PvP, if you dont want to go to PvE dont leave WvWvW, you can live there from 1-80, i havent yet heard good argument why griefing is good (and in the end what you want amounts to that, most funny phrase is "community will police itself" lol yeah it will )

As you stated, GW2 dont have factions, then open world pvp its not an option, said that if you think they need to add 2 factions "and let me add that such thing will never happen" only to have open world pvp then i must strongly dissagree, WvWvW its good enough for that, and No its not stupid. Fighting in the Mysts its cool and logic, and you should know by now that GW2 its PvE oriented, To end the quote i will say there is absolutely nothing to flame about that, what you need apparently its in other game and thats all.

For me this is not a problem. I don't like PvP (especially open world PvP) in mmorrpgs. I have League of Legends for that.
