OT: Torchlight II is on sale on Steam for 10 bucks!  I'm thinking of picking it up..

I pre-purchased based on the hype.  Loaded the beta had three technical issues, submitted the issues for assistance got the same FAQ as a reply to each. The FAQ was relevant to none, got no further support.

Loaded the game after launch same three issues were there.  This time I got some response, basicly a shrug on two of the issues and on the third the suggestion that I disable my firewall to play the game.  I moved  one of my computers to outside of the firewall tried the game for a couple of hours and hated it.   Wiped the hard drive, moved the computer back behind the firewall and reinstalled the OS etc.

Never going to try the game again, yep buyers remorse.  I would not recommend the game to anyone, nor will I consider a game from the publisher again.  But my choice to buy so I bear the cost.

Good for a couple months of content.  Long lasting game, as in a WoW killer? no way.

While it does sport a cool graphics engine and some nice repetitive quest elements (ie dynamic quests), this game is not a keeper.

Regret the GW2 purchase?  not really.  but an expansion? no chance.

Absolutely.

Not because I LOVE it. But because it's a game you can get back to after a few weeks or even months. Just for occasional play. I got back to the game, just for a few weeks, leveled a few characters and now I'm leaving it aside again. There is no reason to completely ditch the game.

I think it's more than a descent game. The business model and nature of the game makes it possible to just buy the game and play from time to time.

I probably will play the game on and off. Off for a month or two, then on for a week or 2-3.

Other, please explain.

I would've bought GW2 now. Even though I no longer enjoy, or play it, it was a -great- fun, those first 50 or... what levels. I can't remember, did I get to level 50 or 60. But I had a blast while it lasted.

However, if I could've had this experience for free, it would've been even better. Feels silly to consider that I was ready to throw cash into the shop and all, but never saw anything what I would've liked to buy. Again, they could've done so much more with GW2, I think. (I mean cosmetics. Especially my girl likes those, so a small payment of 5 - 10 euros for two months isn't much.)

We´re all dead, just say it.

No, I doubt I would.  It's not a failed game to me though.  It's just not for me.  I like the idea of no trinity but the game just didn't grab me.  I got bored of it and that's perfectly ok.

I put probably not. My reasons to this are :

I played the game for a month and got severly bored after getting over the new game hype, started to get into the games mechanices and the lack of build diversity, build cutomization, devoling meta and more more drove me away, making me take a month's haitus.

Came back around the end of november and played during winters day, and leveld my 46 guardian to 80 with a friend, we both got to 80 tried dungeons and hated them, tried spvp (again) and saw nothing had changed but a dying competitive community and then he quit and I took another months haitus until the january, tried the game again leveled up a engi to 23, a warrior to 35 and a mesmer to 55 and got bored yet again and have now completely quit.

As my friend said it feels like a single player RPG with missing content an aimless goaless pointless RPG. And well i really don't feel like i've had my monies worth, I played tekken 6 for 2 years and got hundreads of hours out of that for £22.

The game feels too casual i think that's just it for me and my mates, we like to have fun but when playing an mmo we want a long time goal to go with our long lasting game, or a Pvp scene that consists more of 2 top teams fighting each other and only each other for 4 months.

Absolutely.

Game was unexceptional for me, but I definitely had fun while I played it.

Release a game with a very large established fanbase from 10+ years of bnet history when the market was still emerging and the casual base had not yet been established, thus ripe for harvesting a momentious self perpetuating playerbase people never leave because they have X hours invested in their characters, and their friends and everyone else plays anyway. Not discounting Blizzard quality... but WoW's success is as much about perfect timing as it is quality, if not more so. - Derros

No I wouldn't. However I can say the exact same thing about TSW TOR and D3.

GW2 amused me quite for a long time. Despite having tired now, I can play again later.

I do not regret having bought.

Nah, I woldn't buy it. I never really got the hype, but when it was released, I thought "ah what the heck, try it yourself". It didn't really hook me. Sure, the graphics are nice, it got a lot of starting zones and races and stuff, all good. But in the end, it was still just a regular theme park MMORPG.

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)

Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

I would have preferred a choice of.................. "H_LL NO  I wouldn't buy it", but had to settle for the next best thing to convey my deep disappointment for the WvW debacle.

I respect A-Net for what they are good at: Nice artwork, nice programming, smooth-overall operation.

I liked GW 1, because combat is frentic and exciting. I loathed GW 1 because it was just NOT "roleplay".

GW 2 is a bit nicer in graphics and all.. and it could be such a beautiful game. But it is just not. It is just plain boring. I know I got bored after a few weeks. So bored I don't ever boot it up again.  It has nothing but style and graphics. That is just not enough.

Combat is boring compared to GW 1. Roleplay is just as bad as GW 1. So, summa-summarum I think GW 1 is better. At least it has exciting combat.

I knew what to expect. I knew that A-Net have no clue about the roleplaying faction of the gamers, and they never said they had. So I cannot really blame them. But I blame them for having such a nice product and such a skillful company - and yet not giving a damn crap about us roleplayers, about the non-main-stream-cats... that this will be the last A-Net product I bought. Don't tell me it would be so "uber-costly" to experiment some. It is not. It is just not worth it, for you.

The cats from A-Net want only the main-stream? Cool. Have it. But not me, anymore. I have lost faith. And my experience with their support (just a minor problem) was also shitty. A-Net is mainstream, fat and not interested in anything but the big cash, if you ask me. Good for them. Not good for me. So I'll move on.

All of history is a lie. The truth depends on who does the listening, and who does the telling...

Without a doubt I would have still bought a copy for me and my wife. I have gotten great value out of the game and enjoy it for what it is, not what it isn't. The game is lacking in some things I feel are needed to keep me playing it every chance I get, but I still log in quite a bit of time with my buddies.

I do, however, wonder why the OP along with itgrowls continue to post over here so much when it is clear they do not like the game or the direction it has taken. Feel free to move on and stop sounding like spurned lovers, it's just a game and there are other options out there.

RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan and Paul Gray.

I only played for a week, and was unfathomably bored in half that time... however, at the time I was on the "Maybe I'll play it again someday" bandwagon, but that's not happened, and it's been 5 or 6 months. So I'd definitely say I wish I had that $60 right about now.

Absolutely, without a doubt.  I'm not sure there's ever been a game that has given me more entertainment per dollar.  I'd have to think on that before I could confirm for sure, but either way, GW2 is certainly near the very top in that category.

Probably not, while I got 400 hours out of it I buy MMOs with the hope I can play them for minimum of a half year, GW2 got me just a little over a month.

If anything i'd wait until it went on sale 4-5 months down the road.
