I agree. It is too high. In my honest opinion, it makes the company look poor. When I saw that it was Cryptic, I decided to end the curiousity.

hes talking about the founders packs and i agree they are way to high IMO . While its free to play game charging 200 bucks for a founders title mounts and other few perks is more than i would spend on a game personally but i guess some people have way more money to spend on gaming than i do. I have a decent paying job to but throwing out 200 bucks on a free to play game....i guess im just to stingy with my money.

It's not free to play. There is nothing free in this world. Get used to it. Oh, and get a better job...lol.
What I want to know is how they came up with that 549 dollar value on that 200 dollar purchase. I can see the 200 dollars, because that (or at least 199) is pretty standard for pricing items in terms of incrimental gains. But 549 is an odd number. Why not just say it is a 500 dollar value, or even better a 600 dollar value.
A few worthless virtual items is worth 549 dollars?
This game will be Pay to Win, anyone who has ever played a Cryptic game or a PWE game knows exactly what I am talking about. I look forward to reading the official forums once people actually figure out that free does not really mean free.
Now, where did I put my wallet....lol. |

Doesnt anyone sell food stamps any more? I pay a ton into the system I know some one has to be selling these still. 300 dollars in food stamps = 200 for the game. Thank me later for the idea.

Originally posted by cronius77 i know what OP is talking about but considering games like TERA and WoW and so many others charge $20+ for a single mount i don't see this really unreasonable since many of those other games were charging box price + sub fee + charging for extra items... at least here you only need to spend a dime if you want the extra items. Originally posted by Jemcrystal Every P2P MMO that has been released with in the past 5 years has offered lifetime Subs for this price with no rewards. Atleast with Cryptic and PWE their are giving you some goodies if you spend that amount. "Possibly we humans can exist without actually having to fight. But many of us have chosen to fight. Is there an option for buying a Lifetime Sub? I haven't seen one yet. Just the high priced Founder Packs that gives you items you don't really need to play the game, they don't include Lifetime anything. Craptics seen how much they can get people to nickle and dime through STO, I doubt you'll see a lifetime anytime soon. This games going to be like SWTOR. Everyones going to defend it, then when it fails, they'll still defend it because they can't admit they were wrong in the first place. |

Originally posted by dinams 59.99 is the standard price for basically every game on the planet now. Give me ANY new console game that is not 59.99 plus tax? MOST PC new PC games are either 49.99 or 59.99...and no one complains. There are a lot of MMO's that have no problem charging you 49.99 plus tax for the game...then 15$ a month sub...and put things in the cash shop. GW2 I'm pretty sure was 60$....but even if it was 50$....they had things for you to buy the second you logged in. You started getting chests that required you to purchase keys right away. IMO....GW2 turned out to be very boring and underwhelming in almost every way....and it REQUIRED you to pay a MIMIMUM of 60 bucks to play the game. If you want to play GW2...you have to buy it....and if you end up not liking it...they still got your money. It's only saving grace is that there is not a sub...so some people like myself MIGHT give it another try if they fix the things that are wrong with it. With Neverwinter....if you have a little bit of patience....you will be able to play the game for nothing. You will be able to give the game an extremely extensive "try out" without ever dropping a dime....AND there wll be a ton of people that NEVER spend any money on the game. |

It's there for the people that want to buy it. That person is not YOU.
filmoret: One thing I have never figured out is why the game devs hardly ever fix simple problems that arise. It is like they don't care about the pvp community. Nitth: What makes you so sure its a simple fix? filmoret: Because most of them are. Sometimes its just changing a number in a code string other times its creating a few variables. However none of them should take over a few hours of coding. |
