Very absorbing for me so far. It's amazing to be in Morrowind, even though it's snowy Solstheim. If Bethesda keeps opening up Morrowind with DLC, they will make lots of money from me at $20 a pop.

Only one minor thing that bothered me is the slack job on some of the language immersion. Of course just my opinion. One of my conversation choices was, "Has security been an issue?" This type of language seems way too contemporary to belong in Morrowind. It's very 21st Century English. But I'm just picky. I just hope they can pay a little more attention to the details for quality's sake.

Otherwise, I love the first few hours I've played!

Any other impressions?

havent gotten to it yet, but i would totally pay for a realm by realm dlc release.

Hm, I am a little low on money this month, and 20 bucks for a 4-7 hours story seems a whee bit short, given the full game was 40 bucks for MUCH more content. These DLC's are always so overprices these days. :/

At $25 i can say dragonborn is more than worth its weight. Which is more than i can say for dawnguard. That is worth $5.95 at the most. (and is about as much as i payed for it at the steam sale).

Anyways back to dragonborn..
Main quest was abit short, and...lacking in some parts. would of liked a few extra dungeon crawls But was very impressed with the final battle.

Have done a few side quests but its hard to gauge how many there actually will be considering i have done most of the "clear and apparent" ones for most of the islands factions.. Here's hoping with more NPC interaction i can open up more quest lines.

In short, its great and im more than happy with my purchase :).

I was so happy to meet a Telvanni mage last night!! The Telvanni were my favorite of the houses in Morrowind. I've been thinking about making some mods with Steam Workshop and having those Morrowind assets is great, especially the mushroom houses. I saw some guy is already making Morrowind content on Steam using the assets from this dlc.

Well I bought it and I'm not sorry I did in the least and I haven't even played it yet. From what I've read and heard from a few friends that have played it it's short and lacking in content and most think it isn't worth the $20 investment but they are not considering one very important aspect that this DLC brings to the game... The Morrowind world building sets. This will spawn a lot of Morrowind type mods that will require you to have this expansion pack to play. Just getting these assets added to the game alone is well worth the $20 investment as far as I'm concerned. It's not really the playable content that comes with this mod that I bought this DLC for it's the hundreds of Morrowind mods that the community will build from it that makes it well worth the money.

Because games drop in price so fast they need to get as much as they can from the "I want everything NOW!" crowd. The smart people wait 2 months and buy it for half the price. Some even wait 6 months and pay 75% less or more. It's crazy, i know :)

Yeah, Skyrim stuff drops in price so fast.... Skyrim itself has been out since November 2011 and it is still $59.99 retail. Popular games don't devalueate like your typical EA clone of the month does. If your going to be waiting for anything to do with Skyrim to drop in price you may be waiting a very long time indeed. TES VI may be out by then... LOL

This brings to mind a sudden realization:  I never beat Morrowind.  I was too busy the entire time running around exploring and doing whatever.  Not sure how the province of Morrowind would look in Skyrim's timeframe.

Heh heh. 1200 hrs into that back when I was in HS, and I never beat it. Never even set foot on Solstheim (Bloodmoon). At least I did beat Tribunal, mostly to so I can sleep in peace in the game. I actually really enjoyed Tribunal.

Speaking of all that, I still haven't beaten Skyrim either.

I'm really glad they a brought back at least a little bit of Morrowind styled architecture and atmosphere.

It was fun to revisit the places in bloodmoon.

As for "beating" skyrim. I found the game works best with multiple characters.

My first char was a orc tank that just wandered the world doing whatever he bumped into.

My second char was a redguard archer / crafter that focussed on the main story / storm cloaks and companions story lines that I've since taken into dawnguard, though a bit high level, might roll a new room just for dawnguard , some sort of paladin type.

My third char is an evil high elf mage that I've done the mages guild, daedric and dark brotherhood stuff with, I was going to tale him into dragon.born, but I find the game goes a bit out of balance one you have 40+ levels.

My current char is a argonian noble theif type doing theives guild, anti dark brotherhood, just enough of main quest to start dragonborn.

Then I need chars for imperial storyline, anti dawnguard, the dwemer story lines from dawnguard and the orc strong hold quests.

I highly recommend you play first chat as a wander about doing whatever type, then get the random start mod and make focussed characters for different factions / quest lines because the game is at its best between levels 5 and 30.

Err..all of the Skyrim DLC and base game was discounted on Steam at 50% over the holiday period.  If your unsure at whatever price point, it's always best to wait.  Publishers want sales, games don't keep consistently selling no matter how good they are.  Hence discounts if your patient.

As for Dragonborn it was decent enough. I still think £13.99 is a bit much for a DLC, although it does have more to do then Dawguard and there's more replayability value here.

This looks like a job for....The Riviera Kid!

The reality is that $40 for Skyrim is far less than its worth.  When a game houses as much content as Skyrim, your going to have a real hard time convincing me that it is overcharging for anything compared to its competition.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Dragonborn DLC. Well worth the price for me ( I suppose I may be less interested in duration of adventure, and more interested in quality and memorability).

The moment I heard the Morrowind music, I was smashed by a tidal wave of nostalgia. And meeting Master Neloth and joining the Telvanni again (he was in Morrowind) was just icing on the Cake. Also, Hermaeus Mora is my favorite of the daedric princes, and the Lovecraftian environments in Apocrypha are a great touch in diversifying the atmosphere in Skyrim.

The DLC did made me realize that thematically, I believe Morrowind to be the best of the recent Elder Scrolls. Oblivion and Skyrim are fairly standard fantasy affairs, but Morrowind is shockingly different. With silt striders and wildly different wildlife, Giant Mushroom Towers, different cultures, etc., Morrwind created a very different adventure.

Side Note. Staring at the Red Mountain in the distance while on Solstheim was torture. I really wanted to swim over there.
