My friend want to build a new Gaming Pc, no more than 1600$. We have a Monitor, a copy of the Win 7, DvD Burner and a Hard drive. Now we need the rest.

How big is the hard drive, and how old?  And is it SATA?

Is the optical drive SATA?

You mention a monitor, but not other peripherals.  Does that mean you need a new keyboard, mouse, speakers, and surge protector?

He has a 1tb Hitachi HDS721010CLA332, that is the only Hard drive he has right now. And he has mouse, keyboard, speaker, mic, and all other peripherals. He does not need Wireless card nor sound card.

are the drives SATA.... thats the real question.  i know i had to buy a SATA converter for my dvd drive as its not sata which my mobo only supports. 

so make sure your friend double checks that before they go hog wild or they may wind up having to either replace them completely (id be tempted to do that if the hdd is not sata) or spend extra money on converter plugs...

now question is will u do streaming cuz the i5 isnt a good streaming cpu and i would suggest a fx-8350. It has been proven that that the amd processor is better than the i5's....

Thanks Quizz, the build look great, though my friend want a full tower case and a liquid cooling (he want some thing like a Corsair Hydro Series H60) can you give me some suggestion about those 2?

No we are not streaming anything, i talked to him and he decided to not spend the whole 1600$. He wants a pc that can run any game on high (highest if possiple) setting.

Some of those have options to get the same thing in a different color, too.

For a simple liquid cooling system, they're mostly made by Asetek or CoolIT and then rebranded by other companies.  So for the most part, you have a few different choices but can get a lot of different brand names on them.  The ones with a smaller radiator with a single fan tend to be inferior to air coolers of a comparable price tag.  The ones with two fans and a 240+ mm radiator fare better, so if he really wants a liquid cooling system, you might as well do it right or else just go with air cooling.

I use a Corsair H60 on my I5 setup. Honestly the only reason I bought the H60 was because of the sale/promo code / rebate at the time it was cheaper than an air cooler.

Having said that it works great IMO. My idle temps are around 30-32C, my full load temps are in the high 40c to low 50c. Gaming temps are usually 47c or so. Thats with an overclock of 4.4 ghz. Nothing extreme, but I dont do extreme OCing on my systems.

No reason to go with anything bigger unless your going for a significant OC ( IMO ). And honestly a decent air cooler will net you the same results.

Another plus to the H60 is it doesnt take up the huge amount of space an air cooler does.

edit: On the subject of a full tower case. I used to use all full tower, now I only use mid tower and my next build may be a small form factor. Having a fullt tower is nice if you are stuffing alot of parts in it. I.e. 2-3 video cards, + Killer NIC, High quality sound card, lighting, ect.

You need that room in those cases. Otherwise you end up with a big heavy case that takes up way too much space and has a ton of unused space inside the case.

I switched to the H80i last week for that reason, got sick of trying to squeeze my chubby fingers in to press the clasp on the GPU if needed to give it a clean or change it. It's not quite as good as the Silver Arrow air cooler it replaced but even at 4.8 it keeps it plenty cool. I do a lot of video encoding so the higher clock helps, cant really notice a difference between that and say 4.5 on anything else such as gaming tbh.

I'd advise getting an H55 over the H60 though, it's basically the same thing but revamped. It performs better and is quieter for something like £2 price difference.

Yeah they have several options out now that are probably better than the H60 I have. I bought it about a year or so ago. Picked it up off newegg for around $40 bucks with the sales at that time.

Overall I am happy with it. Especially if you can get it at a cheap price.
