Yeah, that last comment about the Japanese game just killed me. I really hope they're trolls and not 12 year olds for real.
This thread proves how big of a cesspool this site is.

Love the "blame the game for my own stupidity and laziness" failed logic.

I just hope it lasts. I still see closed beta signup on the euro site. I remember another game from that stable that was just great in closed and later open beta. The people in charge are in charge of making money, and that's just what they'll do, no matter what they have to do to the game or the cash shop to make it happen. Your claim may have some truth to it now, but how long will that last? Enjoy the ride while you can. Fool me once... |

Ok maybe u can say that it is not P2W, but at least it is still a sub game where u need to pay around 10USD monthly for VIP status. 10USD=30gold=1 month VIP nonvip only source of unbound silver is from selling stuff and have 70% culti pts of what a VIP has. So i would call it a sub mmo. Dont talk about kidnapping for non-vip if u havent tried so. non-vip kidnap fees are capped to 1L per selling! non-vip have 30% of their culti pts put into escrow and only touchable thru gold not unbound silver. |

Personally I see nothing wrong with that, I prefer paying a sub and get full access to having to constantly shell out $ for content, gear unlocks, classes, skills, and whatever like in most ftp games. If I want faster leveling for a while I can pay some extra but it's not mandatory.

Originally posted by AresPL No they changed it, 1L for non VIP. At first I was getting between 8-10 L per kidnap, then one day that stopped and I was only getting 1 L or less, I was wondering what happened and checked the forums and others noticed it also. I am VIP now so they might have changed it back, that was 2 weeks ago. |

Originally posted by Doogiehowser I've played this game a lot in the last month. In my opinion, it is pay to win. The OP makes a point about the gear and yes, you can get the gear eventually by grinding, but it takes forever. Each piece of gear is around 100-500 Liang. You get 15-50 Liang from kidnapping which is capped at a once and hour limit. So to get the 14 or so pieces, it would approxiamtely take you 140 kidnaps. Keep in mind that the P2Wers who are just buying gold can purchase this gear instantly. So by the time you are fully geared, they will likely be instant buying the next tier. And this whole theory about it doesn't make a difference in attack is not correct. It does. Additionally, he fails to acknowledge the real source of PTW. Only people with very large amounts of silver can purchase the overpowered skills from the auction house. There is one skill that completely heals you full by swapping your magic and health bars. There's another that refills your magic. And yet another that helps you build "rage" for your big hitter much, much faster than others do. These skills are selling for around 5000-10000 Liang each. If you want them, you would have to kidnap 300 times or so. And keep in mind you can only do it once an hour. So even if you do it 15 times a day, it would take you 20 days to get one of these needed skills. And I just put down the big 3...there's about 10 skills you really need. I PVP a lot. In every game. Never in a game have I felt so singled out and disadvantaged as in this game. At one point I was screaming at the monitor last night as the same guy killed me for the 3rd night in a row as I tried to script steal. Script stealing is a once a day event lasting 30 minutes where you can try to grab a script and run all the way out of a zones map before being killed. Imagine trying to steal something from Stormwind and having to run to Duskwood to be safe all the while being attacked by anyone who doesn't have a script strapped to the back. Because I have such ugly gear and no survivability skills, other players know I am an easy kill. I must admit, I like this game a lot. It's challenging, engaging, and requires you to group or guild up. I don't really mind the grind as much as I hate losing day after day to the same players who just hit their OP buttons which I have no access to get. I've tried crafting, gathering, kidnapping, and many other means possible to try and make more money, but it doesn't come close to the amount you would need to remain competitive. It's too bad, but I'm really leaning towards quitting. So in summary, this game is P2W. Even the OP admits it gives you an advantage. Many people try to justify that you can be competitive without paying. I agree, if you want to dedicate your life to this game. |

I made 5d from script steal the other night, Hellwind. I've probaly made 10-12D total from scripts, and another 3d from from robbing escorts and selling the goods. Another 1-2D from blacksmithing.
Making unbound silver should not be a problem for anyone, as long they do SOMEthing. They wont get it sitting around.
My issue is making bound silver, the npc/pve stuff. I never have more than 4-500L. DamonVile- Games built for disposable players are now apparently built by disposable employees. |

Originally posted by bcbully Maybe you were the guy who killed me three nights in a row. Making silver is a problem. At least enough to pay for things you need like gear or the needed skills. I constantly kidnapped, dungeon run, script stole, and played a lot for about a month. I never spent a penny and never had more than 600L. The silver coins npc/stuff is a joke to get. You're kidding right? You just have to spy and you get a like 150L each time you spy (which you should be doing the weekly if you ever expect to progress end game). |

Originally posted by dwarfus You gotta work hard to earn a decent amount of unbound silver in this game. If you can manage to get 4 scripts per script steal then you are set for unbound. Kidnapping will only get you so far, as it is a small amount of unbound per hour, the money lies in crafting and selling mats. Unfortunately I no longer have the time to play as much as I want to, so I craft for my guild, but if I put in some solid hours of gathering materials I'd make a ridiculous amount of unbound coin just from crafting weapons and if I bothered to script steal as well then my unbound income would increase significantly. The only thing I've spent unbound on is a couple of blacksmith skills, which has now given me the tools to make much more silver if I want to. It also helps to get yourself into a decent guild and meet people who are willing to craft for you if you can provide the mats, so that you don't have to spend unbound on gear. That is of course, if you still play. |

Originally posted by dwarfus Never have done a spy mission, not once. I get school badges from school wars. How ever many else I need (400 more) I'll buy from a person selling badge crates. It will cost me about 1.1D for those. DamonVile- Games built for disposable players are now apparently built by disposable employees. |

Originally posted by dwarfus LoL I think that was actually one of my guildmates... What was his name? or do you remember his guild? Script steal can be a mofo.. I suggest getting some speed buffs and making sure to rush in and "out" with the zerg if you can. Certain schools you might have to go about it a bit differently. Scholars for instance with the spinning and stuff can be a problem even getting close enough to the bookshelves to get a script. Royal Gaurds can be a little headache with being pulled and stuff. Tangmen normally just pew pew people before they get books. Coming to Wanderer's Valley is definately a death sentence. We take our knowledge quite seriously. LoL w/e If all else fails try to find an offline player in a quiet place. Grab and bail, don't worry about helping buddies and stuff. If you see someone else trying to escape with a book. Tag along with them, if you don't help each other at least someone thinking to gank will have to decide between you two first. You might get lucky.. |
