Originally posted by nomss None of the OP points are good or valid. Have you seen the video of 2 Guardians doing a dungeon together and not dying - Arah? You see, people thing they can just force their way through and get it done - hence the rzerg-res thing. Now you need to actually think how you are going to do dungeons before you do them. I like that.
So far the current patch has done more good for the game than any other - it really made the game worth playing.
As others have said, people just like to complain. The OP's first post in this thread shows the OP does not think how to play but just uses a brute force method. |

I find the revised daily very easy. However, the time investment required for us non-dungeon runners to get the best endgame gear is ridiculous. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's about one piece per month if I do dailies every single day?
By the time I catch up to the dungeon runners (especially the ones spending money on gold to shorten the mat grind) they'll have probably raised the level cap and introduced whole new tiers of gear. I refuse to be treated like a second class citizen when it comes to how I get my gear, sorry Anet, you failed again. |

Dungeons in GW2 aren't that difficult. Some are tedious, but not difficult. If you are having trouble and needing to res zerg a boss you need to seriously evaluate your level of play. Fractals (post level 20, try doing them at 40+) are harder than any dungeon including Arah Seer path. If you are struggling in dungeons I don't know what to tell you. Try not running glass cannon specs and learning to effectively dodge, most of the dungeons on explorable mode don't have complex mechanics and simply require nothing more than surviving and staying out of the red circles. The OP also forgets to mention that with this patch there were a large amount of dungeon nerfs including some of the easier paths. Fractals already had the requirement of waiting for your party to wipe before you can res. GW2 is for people who love grinding? GW2 has very little grinding compared to other MMOs (minus legendary and rare exotic forged recipe grinding which requires massive amounts of gold). You can "max" out a character within 2 weeks of a semi-hardcore play which includes leveling 1-80, getting full exotic, doing Fractals till ~28, and getting the ascended drops. By comparison as someone who did 30/50 HoM in GW1, GW1 had A LOT more grinding. Personally hated GW1 and enjoy GW2, so I think the OP might be in the minority on that opinion. Also Orr reward chests have been increased. So doing it for "no rewards" is false. Not only is the karma you get from events far more valuable now for those not aiming for legendaries (Orr Jewelry Boxes), but the chests themselves contain higher chances at rares and exotics now, including precursors. Dungeon rewards have never really been nerfed. Yes, they did have one nerf at one point, but since then they've been buffed. This includes the following buffs since release:
I definitely think dungeons can use more balance in terms of rewards, but that's different discussion here. Dungeon rewards are fine right now, in fact I'd argue for dungeons like CoF and AC EXP the rewards are TOO GOOD. As for daily achievements I can't believe you can't complete the dodge one. I get this faster than any other daily achievement when I play (though it helps that Ranger has evasion on both the Greatsword, Sword, and Dagger) literally within 1 minute of starting combat. You actually have to EVADE attacks, not just dodge randomly. As for reviving allies you can find a heart question which has you revive NPCs, there are plenty of them and NPCs do count towards this achievement. |

LOL I don't even know why all think I can't complete dodge. I complained for loss of XP for my alts from daily, and it's true as now you have only 1 tier on each of 5 requests. Dodge is annoying as it not worked each time to me, but it works too, so about daily all clear. I have not seen best chest rewards from Orr so far, but may be some guys just don't show it. Seems after update Orr drops where much better but corrected by now. Grind I see for Legendary or dungeon sets, even karma farm can be seen this way but I don't mind as it more or less single fun I have in this game. I can suck hard and totally fail, but why any group I dung with are same way? I can admit existence of some elite genius who can solo anything. May be I should meditate each time about any dungeon, but sorry I go for play game and have no time to elaborate great strategy for quite boring dungeons. I know the fact is: to be good at any dungeon you need to make X runs, but to make X runs here you need to be good and have good group. I have actually same issue as after 3 years or so of GW1: my friends list shown OFF... try before buy, even if it's a game to avoid bad surprises. |

So your saying being able to hit for an extra 1% in a pitched battle makes a difference?. Gw2 is not about gear stats.

Yep exacty, as everyone knows in wvw get a set of exotic and you are competitive if you have a bit of skill. Smacks of someone who has come across from wow and not adjusted yet.

If gear didn't matter in PvP Arenanet wouldn't have equalized it in their tournament PvP. Gear does matter, there are many one on one fight situations in WvW and often fights are very close. Close enough that the stat differences (which are also much bigger than some here are admitting to) do matter.
I have never met an MMO pvper who was happy about going up against other players without BiS. It would be stupid to be okay with any advantage an enemy player might have, no matter how small. This is why balancing for PvP is so much harder than for PVE. This is why 'nerf this' 'fix that' threads are so common among PvPers. As they should be. |

Originally posted by Madimorga difference is GW2 is much more about positioning and using your dodge effectively.. this alone makes the gear disparity even less and makes the gap between asended and exotic even smaller.. in Rift before they normalized PVP gear i could with my Rank 8 easily dispatch 4 to 6 rank 1-3s without breaking a sweat, they had no shot at all because of my gear. GW2 has nothing even close to this sort of issue. I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. Originally posted by Aerowyn I like an equal playing field in my PvP. Totally equal. I like the classes as balanced as is humanly possible in an MMO and above all, I want gear to be equal (at level cap that is, I'm willing to deal with inequality while leveling).
If equal gear is not provided for my PvP then at very least I want the BiS gear to not involve grinding in a style of play I hate, such as doing dungeons for hours on end so as not to fall behind other players. We were told we wouldn't have to do that. Specifically we were told endgame wouldn't be about dungeons, but it is. I hate that.
Edit: What sucks even worse is that probably it was for the sake of simplifying the equalizing of PvP that the awesome variety of skills we had in GW1 are absent in GW2, yet gear is allowed to make us unequal in WvW. Boring gear we have to grind for? Why? If it's going to be unequal anyway, bring on more skills then.
