Originally posted by Onomas Do you know you can use real life money to buy gold, then convert it into silver? In AOW, silver is the only currency that can be used in trading between players, and it can help you cultivate your skills, buy better gears, medicines, skill books, hell, you can even buy people's life with silver (bounties).

If that's true about only 33% of the game being 'in' then I might eventually be back 'in'... but if it's been out for 2+ years in China, what is preventing the whole game from being here now? Oh, and I did buy the 3 tailoring recipes that I found on player stores, but I never found any additional recipes. I'm fine with buying them from people that run instances and loot them. I just never found any past those 3. No bitchers. |

OP, perhaps you should play more than the tutorial before making these claims? Your post comes off as very uninformed, and reminds me of someone who's played 3 hours of EVE and complain that there's nothing to do. |

LOL played whole day doing only quests :D:D good job man start farming mini instances, each drop like 10 recipes maybe more, some are very important in future, in chinese server some of them were selling for 100L as a lot people needed them for quests for 3rd internal
I think its like 18% of what chinese version have and its still rising, NA version have more than You see, but they blocking it atm |

Originally posted by Rinna I'm not sure about the exact percent, but so far we can only craft up to silver quality. There is still gold and jade after that. Zones, skill sets, the battle ground system, recipies, etc..
The personal stall system is forieng to most of us western gamers. Yes, you can walk up and go stall just like a market, OOOOR you can hit the little scales on the bottom right, from anywhere in the scene, and get a list of all stalls, or have item listed by type, like ore, weapons, pills ect.. This game does NOT look sandbox too me either. People will still call it a sandbox tho. I've seen people call GW2 and similar games a sandbox. Please. So I generaly understand some are confused and want AoW to be one as well. But to be fair and reconcile, I'd call it a hybrid. |

Originally posted by Onomas I completely agree with this........apparently there is no real definition of a sandbox, and most people just create their own definition of what it means to them. I'm not fond of Age of Wushu at all, but then again I don't have the time to invest in something like that game. |

Who cares? It's fun, it's fresh, it's different. What else matters?

I care I was lied that AoW was sandbox but in reality is the worst scam ever. Things that make this game sandbox according to fanboys: No restrictions - Say what??? I had a quest to go to the guild NPC and he gave me a quest to make my own guild or join a guild but I couldn't cause I was restricted by my "growth" ops another thing that came to mind this game has no levels??? really??? I can't join a guild cause I'm too weak yet??? isn't that what leveling is??? so pretty much you gain different titles that characterise your levels for example: mind and body are weak or something stupid like that. Some here said you don't have to touch quests at all...really??? I did only quests and thats how I got sword style and like 20 skills if I didn't I would never had those skills. To the guy who says cash shop is not a problem,I deleted this game and can't get screenshots of everytime I was asked to go topoff real money to my account it was so often its not even funny. I played total of 3 hours was asked about 30+ times to go add money everytime I pressed to add a skill or something and at the end to open my shop or gain offline skills that's the biggest unfainess I ever seen in these scam games. |

Yes, for your first couple hours of the tutorial AoW is a linear, hand holding themepark. DamonVile- Games built for disposable players are now apparently built by disposable employees. |

I agree. It's not sandbox, but it has sandbox elements. But who cares about the definition.. It's fun :) |

Originally posted by bcbully Good, as I can't see where I mentioned both in the same sentence. And neither have I compared those two. I however compared the mentality behind people calling games sandbox even tho the said games are not sandbox - pointing out that some would probably call even WoW a sandbox, and that under this light it's rather easy to understand AoW has been and will be called out as a sandbox by some players. I think those fan goggles you wear are getting thicker. ;-) |

I agree it is not a sandbox. I would classify it as a sandpark. There are little "sandboxs" that give you a little bit of a sandbox feel, but they are not all interconnected. There is a support structure of a themepark which hold your hand and takes you over to each sandbox so you can build a castle or whatever, then it takes your hand and guides you over to another one. That is my look on it. Not a bad game, but not a sandbox. This is a sandpark in my opinion. |

Originally posted by Kenshin_Himura There is more than combat alone.Strange as it may seem, some people like crafting and farming mats.If AoW is the best place for these kind of people? IMHO no, there isnt much depht: almost zero progression in farming(buy it, plant it. or just click on the shiny rock) |

Originally posted by legendsolo well i didnt play it, but from what i read - isnt mats farming w/o combat impossible? i mean, it has open world pvp after i think 5. or 10. level in ANY (including crafting) school is reached, and therefore you have to train combat to be able to defend yourself, dont you? |

before we start we need to agree on something , blue = blue , white = white ?? so whiner who alway want a sandbox game in my themepark game alway cry and when someone releases a real sandbox game they dont even know that a sandbox game and still whine . you realy think sandbox = player housing ?? then maybe rift a sandbox for you ?? that just like one of my friend who downloaded eve and played one day for tell me ''where the sandbox element , look just like a boring shooter in space'' if you dont get it : yes often in this type of game you need to play more that one day and you need to get something in your brain , most mmorpg player today will just log in , think that boring f2p asian , some will not even understand the battle system , some will get lost at the start for go attack the high level npc ( who will kill them one shot LOL ) some will understand nothing , and leave . im realy enjoying both type of game usualy but age of wushu realy classify as a sandbox game
