This is getting old I just got yet another Warning for Talking about a opensource project for a game thats not even being hosted anymore. They said its against the TOS of the original game. How can a game thats not even around have a TOS or better yet how can a open source game that was given the source code from the original Devs breaking the ToS.

    Dont know about anyone else but if MMORPG keeps up with the forum nazi attitudes I'm out. not like I'm some new member or anything.

Incidentally, you don't get extra street cred for having an account dated back to 08'. Not among the mods nor amongst your posting peers.

A lot of the infractions are BS but the mods are only human. By best advice is, unless you got a temp ban then just let it go. If you can't the send a mail to the head honcho Mike. If you have a valid point, I'm sure he will straighten it out. You won't get your stars back though :P

Ah, so you posted about an unofficial server, which is a Medium Infraction called "Unoffical Servers"

Seems clear cut to me.

Unless you have some way to prove that it is an Official server by the company for the game that company made, I suggest reading the Rules of Conduct at the bottom of this website :)

OP, if you have information that supports your claim that it's an open source game and that anyone can use the code for whatever they want then just contact Mike Bitton.

It might be worth mentioning that because a game doesn't exist anymore doesn't mean that someone doesn't own the rights and might want to use those rights some time down the line.

It's not unoffical its a open source project. That was given the content from the people that made the game. Thats not Unoffical it's called open source. I cant post the proof it will get removed and I'll get another bs warning or ban . But at this point IDGAF about a ban this sites articals and opinions are getting to jaded

Why can't you link to the proof? If the group/company gave permission then they gave permission. Is there more to this? Why will it get removed?

Well, my thought is that if the code, assets, etc for the game was given to anyone to use then there might not be a problem with an emulator.

It feels like the issue with an emulator is emulating a game where the creator doesn't have permission to use the assets.

I would send mike bitten a note and explain that and see if there is any leeway.
