I can't help but laugh whenever i read the articles, especially after partially buying into it pre GW2 release and despite ALL my misgivings ending up buying the game. All this stuff they talked about being so great and so awesome was in fact not. Dynamic events? Not dynamic even in the slightest. Maybe it was because i came from Rift, where they did exactly the same type of stuff and had been for a long time. Yes, it was limited to "Rifts" but GW2's dynamic quests were just standard issue branching events. Thats it. The most insulting part was the "open world raid content" or whatever they hell the called it back then. Literally 3-4 stages of 50-100 people gather in one spot, hit the mob with the same 1 or 2 abilities until the next stage goes. Oh, i forgot the occasional "everyone gets knocked back 100 meters and has to run back to the spot" component. Now i'm sitting here reading this article and they think throwing a bunch of buzz words like dynamic, and open world before normal MMO tenets like quests, or loot, etc, will somehow excite the player base? I particularly love him bringing up that they've sold 3 million copies of the game. Wow, because i'd be willing to bet at most 10% of that are still playing it regularly. Hell, Age of Conan had over 700k pre order and sold well over a million copies in the first month. Box sales are not indicative of success in an MMO, even one which is "B2P". Cus lets be honest, the argument that people will cyclically drift in and out of the game because it doesnt have a sub fee only has merit if the game doesn't suck. What the hell are you talking about? What does this have to do with the price of bananas? To top all that off, I dont think it is appropriate for you to tell us about your collection of Rosie O'donnell videos. good day, sir. He's talking about ANET latest attempt at marketing spin, it's not difficult to grasp. I guess diehard fanbois will try anything, no matter how irrelevent ,to discredit someone who doesn't have the same, 'faith', as them. I feel your pain and it gets better with time, Omnifish. However, I do have to inform you that it is illegal to hunt whales in Missouri.
